Demon drop looks great! It should have a queue line though.

Wow. Great stuff. No complaints. Really liking how the amphitheater turned out.

So they had money to buy 2 B&M's (the hyper I assume around this time of 2010) but in 2010 they had to buy an old Intamin Freefall.

The timeline doesn't make a great deal of sense. I think the ride choice is very good and its done well, but where it fits in your time table just doesnt make sense to me.

I know Dorney Park did this, but they only had 2 small B&Ms built 01 and 05. I just don't think it makes sense in this context with a giant hyper coming in the following years.

But hey ho, thats just another level of realism/nit picking.

The queue is hidden behind the breakrun in this screen, its not huge, but it will likely never be filled even to the covering.  Making it any larger would probably be a waste of space, which in this are is tight.

Thanks, glad you like it.  Depending on how many objects I have left I might go back and improve the amphitheater further still.

I see your issue, and really the timeline is something I kind of am making up as I go along.  However, I do plan on writing out a full history and chronology of the park with the release.

But for the moment, CF was planning on moving the ride initially to Knott's but was then changed plans and decided to move the ride to Westwinds to enhance the area around the entrance which formerly had just been wasted space.  However, starting around this time the park endured a huge growth in popularity along with a increase in CFs' willingness to make large investments in their parks.  This is why the park received a huge B&M in 2014 (along with a completely new area of the park and a new entrance area) and a refurbished B&M in 2015.

Right now its a little rough, but again, I do plan on sorting it out and turning into a full history for the park  for the release.

You saved it with your explanation. Well done :p

would it be possible to make the green benches diagonal? that might look better/more realistic. Great stuff yet again dude.

I absolutely love this. Really classy work. I'm particularly loving the pavilion roofs for the entrance to the Demon Drop queue; they scream Cedar Fair to me.

  • SlayMeGaga%s's Photo

I feel the timeline shouldn't matter for this ride. I mean a lot of parks have saved old rides or have built new rides that are considered a classic ride. I feel another good example is SFGAm relocating and rebuilding the Lil' Dipper. Although personally it isn't that big of a deal.

  • Coasterbill%s's Photo

Yeah this is absolutely my most anticipated release since Starpointe. Sure a lot of that is just personal preference and I don't expect anyone to agree with me but I love the Cedar Fair style and you're absolutely nailing it.

    Great work.

Yea, I did have one idea for this and initially attempted to make diagonal benches, however they look awful from 2/4 angles so I decided to just make them normal.

*mental note - use ja227 steep roofs to please robbie92*

Thanks Robb, glad you like it.  To me demon drop has always been the classic example of old cedar fair design, so I really wanted to make it recognizable and true to the real thing.  Seem like I did a good job.

Thanks, and I see what you mean.  Although I'll probably still try to have some explanation for the ride int the timeline for consistency sake.

Haha, glad you're enjoying the park so much.  I'll try my best to make sure it lives up to your expectations.

Looking great. I'm glad you end up using concrete floor for the amphitheater.

Love all the details around the station. All the plants look great too, and you've managed to use repetition without making them boring or sterile.

This is the best Demon Drop recreation I've ever seen, and I have a right to be picky, I was a ride op on it last summer.

Worth noting: climbing Demon Drop while the ride is running is a lot of fun, you can feel the tower sway when you drop. Just thought I'd add that

  • Coasterbill%s's Photo

Holy shit... you were a Demon Drop ride op? That's awesome. It's crazy to say but after Talon and Thunder Creek Mountain I think it's easily the best ride in the park. The feeling of weightlessness on those old first gens is unbeatable.

  • FredD%s's Photo

    That's awesome AK ^

Lovely as ever. Fine to see classic rides. Only thing I'd recommend is put some flowers/foliage before those green walls near the train track. They look a bit too bare imo.

  • Stoksy%s's Photo

Told you the teal would work ;)

Given the size of this park it's starting to border on spotlight I think...

  • Faas%s's Photo

It's a solid park for sure. Love the whizzer coaster a lot. However I don't think it's original or your own style enough for it to be spotlight at all.

I know how to make diagonal path blocks work using MoM but I don't know how you make two different diagonal path blocks work for on one tile like on both sides of the train crossing. Can anyone explain?
