Description
H2H building now past us, may as well reveal some secrets.
I built the dome of Circus Circus seperatly from the rest of the park, IE the roof off version. Doing this, we could have 2 people building on the park at a time. This also made the dome much easier and more simple to construct. I think it is one of the most ambitious structures ever undertaken in rct. I saved the dome as ride scenery using 11 or so LIM coasters, we then simply built those lim coasters into the roof off version at the end, added the hotel tower and roofs on the casino. This nearly didn't work, we had parkdated in other objects and somehow screwed up the bench and the rides would not build with the scenery. Tim, Louis, DJ and I spent hours trying to figure it out. I left an apology that we wouldn't be able to put the dome on, and went to sleep, it was probably 5 A.M. at this point. I woke up to find they had figured it out and we were able to put it on right near the end. DJ built a small chunk of the dome, but I did probably 90% of it.
The park went on to get me my first h2h win with the help of DJ and Lew. -

An interesting and cool view through the save as scenery menu
Incredible, thanks for sharing. Crazy...
Woah, the grayscale picture looks incredible!
Awesome!
That was an absolute nightmare of a submission
This was one of my favorite submissions in H2H so the hard work paid off. Great job everyone!
Wow that was a brilliant strategy to get it done!
Great little idea I love using. I was wondering how you guys got the dome up so flawlessly.
The grayscale picture looks SO MUCH BETTER than the in-game version. I think the contrast in colors of the edges of each glass piece and the glass itself is what makes it read more like a coherent structure instead of a blob. Great idea in using the tracks, must have been a really tedious process.
I really think some ribbing would have helped the structure look less like a blob and more like the shape that it actually is. In the end though I appreciate the ambition in making such an enormous undertaking! It really is impressive.
We had definitely discussed ribbing and a skeleton for the whole thing, but found track too difficult to use, and didn't have time to develop a good form with deco pieces.
We also used his trick to stack the hotel Towe, and perhaps more interestinly I used it on the hotel rooms interiors. Each room is different, but they are also each flipped around. So really each half is the same just mirrored diagonally.
