Description
It was exactly 10 years ago today on May 28th I started DRC. Two years later on its second birthday, it was released as my first and only NE Spotlight park.
Too bad peeps was not the trend back then, but I added them in this pick to give the park something of a modern feel.
Happy Birthday DRC! - Full-Size

I love the colors. What a fun atmosphere.

The best part of DRC is how absolutely stuffed it is with ideas.

I prefer the days of no peeps, but I'm still not really sure why. Somehow it's easier to just look around. Especially in calmer themes; stuff like The Masterpiece or Isole Calabria or any of the designs around that time (when I first came to NewElement) never had peeps and it was almost relaxing to look around. The only stuff that ever moved were the roller coasters and occasional flat rides. It felt more like looking at a piece of art.
That's my theory, anyway.

I know, but the entire "meta" of RCT is now to have a very active, lively park. That extends to all areas. Buildings are aesthetically busier, parks designed with everything more tightly packed tend to be better-reviewed, and peeps are now mandatory (which means all of the stuff that goes along with that - fully functional rides, shops, stalls, staff, messages relating to guests' happiness, etc.). It just feels very different. Not better, not worse, just different.

Yeah, the reason why it's one of my favourites. So much to see! But Kumba, don't tell me this was the best screen you could take.
More people should post old screenshots every now and then. Shall we make #throwbackfriday a thing?
