I love how lively this screen is. The colors are bright without being cartoony or obnoxious. Everything is just warm and happy looking. I think the transition to the mine town may be smoother without the little path-width wooden arch thing. It looks kind of out of place. You're also going to get a peep well on the far side of that area, by the train station.
Agree with Ling about the arch. I'd almost say that there are too many peeps, such that the paths look very crowded detract a little from great-looking architecture.
Depending on time/motivation/willingness I'd actually be tempted to move the tunnel of love to a location where you can have more of a transition to it. At the moment it's kind of just placed at the entrance plaza with a completely different theme to its surroundings. Given the nature of the contest I'd like to see it given a little more prominence.
Still, ridiculously fun-looking as always. Foliage is solid, and everything is so beautifully colourful.
Something so nice about this. It's so Faas, but then again I can't help but feel like I've been to a place like this before. There are so many elements that are familiar and yet beautiful. It's like a dream déjà vu.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Wasn't expecting that much praise but I'll take it .
You guys are right about the arch, it will be changed. Part of the philosophy of this little park is not to look back too much changing stuff but the arch is pretty hideous so...
I'll also try to control my peeps a bit more.
I used to play with Legos a lot indeed, I loved them. But then again who didn't?
Excellent inclusion of the pre-made structures, and everything has your classic quaint/fun/quirkiness to it. Nice use of a picnic area to give the whole place some room to breathe.
Decided to cook up something quick for the February contest at Reddit. It always helps me build quicker if a (simple) workbench is already provided and when there are clear rules.

I really really like it!
Many colours and textures while not being too overwhelming,
Perfect IMO.

I love it and I want to build my own. That town hall building is genius and I am so stealing that.

This can only be described with one word: Faas. Your style is so easy to pick out.

Follow-up question: were you ever a big lego fan?

Ling, I don't think peeps will jam, it looks like there's a path out under that red building.
Looks nice Faas, very carnival-y, which I was really hoping for from this contest.

Ah, didn't see the purple balloon behind those buildings before.

Faas, why is everything you build so amazing?

I almost think the western town is too abrupt. I think it's the dark brown path. Perhaps change it totally to dirt?
Lovely screen though. I like how you've used the town hall over the toilets & cash machine.

Really cool. I dunno about the trees in the middle of the entrance plaza though, wouldn't flowers/shrub or a fountain or statue be a better fit?
