Description
I wait until the farmer shuffles around to tend his garden, and carry on up the path quickly. The oppressive overcast sky begins to darken as I pick my way around the broken, rocky path, and by the time I have reached the high pasture it is raining steadily. I make my way across the field and lean against a stone marker at the edge of the row of untidy shrubs, admiring what I can see of the ruined castle through the mists. The sound of rocks tumbling from behind startles me - the farmer has followed me up.
"OY!"
He struggles up over the rise, using his shovel as a walking stick. He fumbles briefly, dipping his other hand into his overcoat, and pulls something glinting out; I squint to make out what it is as he raises his hand in front of his chest and steadies himself. An incredible crack sounds- his shot strikes the stone marker and ricochets off into the mist.
The farmer curses, his shaking hands moving to reload the pistol. I blink, frozen in panic, and then as the old man begins to raise his hand again I turn to run. The second shot screams overhead. I leap across the rotting bridge on the high stream and it splinters behind me, falling into pieces. - Full-Size

Atmosphere accomplished through minimalism. Impressive ][.

Fantastic landscaping again. Jaguarkid140, this is how jagged rocks should look like.
Love the story as well.
