By not wasting time on extensive hacking, bullshit like transfer tracks, custom rides, removing entrance/exit huts, log flumes with three different track types, etc.

Thanks for the replies everyone!
Since when did transfer tracks and custom rides take loads of time? A transfer track is just an extra piece of track. That's not hard to build right? Unless you'd want to have a train on it, but even that takes a few minutes. Same with custom rides. Unless you'd want to make them work, all you need to do is just add a coaster train, make it run, then stop it and make the track invisible. Again, only takes a few minutes. If you're saying that stuff is "exstensive hacking", then isn't the accelerating on the coaster below exstensive in hacking too?
Just my opinion. I'm not saying i won't like Vitaminland because you didn't include transfer tracks or something similar, i just wanted to note that what you mentioned isn't really exstensive hacking.
Those things can take a lot of time if you want to do them well. If you half ass them then it can be done in no time... just like everything else.
In any case I think Faas has a style that contrasts very nicely with the standard NE style of hyper-detailing. It's not the way I build, but it's a lot of fun and his parks are always a lot of fun to explore.

I don't really get your point man. I mentioned extensive hacking as a reason, along the other reasons, I didn't mention them as examples of extensive hacking. I was just answering cocoa's question. It's just that the stuff I mentioned makes me lose motivation to do stuff, so I don't do it, making me keep my motivation, making the building process go faster.
along with that, things like transfer tracks add very little aesthetically, and you need to pull off intense realism to make them look good and not just plain. you'd have a lot more possibillities making entrances invisible though, it allows you to make your stations more open

Yeah I'm with Faas on this one. A few simple hacks is okay for me personally, but doing a lot is kind of straying from the RCT 2 roots. Though gdb has a good point, I'm seeing the benefits of removing the huts. It's actually a very simple hack that can make station building so much easier! So I'm somewhere in the middle I guess. Can't wait to see Vitaminland in game, should be awesome!
My belief is that different people play the game differently and enjoy different things. One person's style need not be another's and we should all try to appreciate the ways other people play the game.
