This year we celebrate our tenth anniversary as a theme park. We've seen a considerable growth in visitors since, about a 100% increase. Nevertheless we feel our park is in need of another major ride... And is there an occasion more suitable than our anniversary? This new major ride we've aqcuired goes under the short but powerful name "Wolf". The Wolf, a wooden roller coaster designed in the United States, is situated at the back of the park. The wolf has been absent from the Dutch forests for centuries, but at last it's back. It's fast, intimidating, and hungry!
The new area also features a ferris wheel for the faint of heart.
The Wolf traverses the forest at high velocity. Quite a few trees had to be cut down to build the coaster, but enough has remained and replanted to maintain a forest feel.
The front of the ferris wheel, with the restaurant's new terrace in the foreground.
The terrace from another angle. On warm days, one of our cooks will grill sausages here.
Good news for vexillophobes! Last winter a powerful storm blew away most of the new banners on our parking. The remaining banners have been spread out evenly over the promenade, and frankly we like it better this way. A blessing in disguise. Isn't the parking too open now? NO. We planted some new trees. The parking is completely finished now!
An overview of the park in 1993:
Information Entrance fee children (<15 year): fl. 12,50- Entrance fee adults (15 to 65 year): fl. 15,- Entrance fee elders (65+): fl. 12,50- Parking: fl. 2,-
I've been watching this project for a while now and it's truly become special due to the timeline-concept. I guess it's a gift to amaze with the little things rather than the incredibly detailed scenery and that's exactly what you do here. That railroad, the stations, the new woody and even the ferris wheel fit so well and everything comes together really nicely. Keep going the way you do with this one, I love watching this more than hyper-realistic 1/8-block spectacles
The faded coaster in the background is just so perfect (shame the date kind of ruins it...)
Really like this though; there are so many beautiful subtleties that I think epitomise dutch parkmaking. Sacrificing a level of detail for incredible atmosphere, which you've clearly accomplished thus far with this park.
