If that's supposed to be lava [which I'm assuming it is] then I would suggest using dark orange instead of red. Also I think this would look better with some taller trees; at the moment it looks as if they're essentially all the same height.
Well, it is supposed to be a volcano. I tried the orange and didn't like it; I might try a mix. As for taller trees, I can mix in the tall palm tree more but anything else looks very out of place.
Oh man. A++ to the rockwork, lava, and what I can see of the coaster. However, to me there's a lot of unfulfilled potential in this screen. There's just such a stark contrast between the lava/volcano theming and the surrounding area with bright flowers, neat architecture, etc. I just feel like you could go further with a darker theme, especially since I feel the dark part of the screen is superior.
love that volcano, and I have to disagree with That Guy here; if you're going for a tropical kind of volcano-island thing, then big bold saturated colors are only going to help.
if the lava is red, make the flowers another colour. magenta, or yellow.. also the coaster could use other colours, the blue is too cold for the setting i think.
but it's really nice work, something different which is very nice to see
This shit is what NE needs. Wide, flowing paths, atmospheric theming without fake roofs and plastic props, actual landscaping, interesting coasters... This is classic NE style like artist, John and slob, but modernised. I like the red lava, but Turtle raises a good point about the flowers. Orange lava might work just as well though.
There's one thing I truly hate about this screen: the yellow supports. Those are a nightmare. Because there's only two of them I'd pick a colour that fades into the background. Dark poop brown!
Is this a launched flying coaster or a bad-ass vertical lift chain lift? I had an idea close to this, but hot damn, you put my idea to rest! The only thing that bothers me are the yellow supports and the planter on the main path. The planter is just got too much going in there, making it messy more than aesthetically appealing.
It's a flying launch (i.e. face-down). I'm not a big fan of the yellow supports either, they will be changed. I like Turtle's suggestion on the flower colors, I will probably switch to a collection of bright colors instead of completely uniform red. I also think the planter needs work but I need to figure out exactly what that entails to not just make it worse. Thanks everyone, I'd have never expected such a positive response.
very cool, architecture is a little simplistic but the focus here is the surrounding nature so that focus is well placed... one thing I'm a little edgy on is the lava stream,it ends very abruptly and nat as believable as you'd want it to be... try haveing that stream go under the path with steam vents to walk over instead of path, the continue to lead the stream under the coaster when it leaves the station and into a body of water where it cools off naturally because now it just stops without any logical reason or any cool features besides being the somewhat end of the lavastream...
there's some lovely stuff going on there. I personally would see how the volcano works with some smoke, the bridge is in dire need of remodeling(reduce to 3x3 or 2x3) and Im not a fan of the flat wooden pieces on the top of the bridge. Try to substitute it with some dark red/brown brick paths, mudd paths or wooden planks, or simply rotate them 90°
I personally think the foliage works great for such an environment.
I'm not so convinced with the planter, it's quite bulky for the path as it is. Also the water doesn't have a visible source, is it meant to be artificial? Same sentiments about the lava, there needs to be continuity - where does it flow to?
That said, I really like the lift hill and the whole layout in fact. It's creative and I haven't seen something done like this before. You're quickly becoming one of my favorite builders!
It's intended to be a theme park setting, so the lava is not real. The thought process is that it would disappear into a pump to recycle it to the top of the "volcano". The water would behave similarly but with pools at the bottom and top of the falls.
Started testing a new semi-tropical foliage palette. Wanted it to feel different. I'm in the process of removing all the brown tarmac and replacing it with a mix of dirt and quarter-tile cobblestone. The grey track is a water coaster.

This looks like a bowl of fun, a lot of very cool stuff going on, though the layout looks a bit short imo.

I don't think that the rectangular planter fits with the flowing, curvy path. Other than that this screen is amazing

I don't like the yellow supports, and I don't like the teal track. Everything else is awesome!
