Germans: Wow, X250. You certainly impressed me. You pulled off quite an interesting and unique theme here with the adventure/asian/ruin kind of feel. The coaster was ok. The dive machine was alright too. The architecture and most of that was pretty impressive, although it was extremely cluttered. You definitely continue to impress me. Way to go.
Canes: Corky, you never cease to amaze me. The architecture was splendid. Everything was totally awesome. The hacks and everything were brilliant. Slob's work wasn't too shabby, either. Wow. Just wow. You've really elevated yourself to a whole new level after Aviara Cove and this. Looking at something like this makes me sad because I know I could never be this good. Probably my favorite park of the season.
I don't know, I just seemed to take more away from Calatravas. When I first see the Germans' park, it's like... wow that is incredible, but then when I think about it later I just feel like it was just like a million other parks made (recurring pattern anyone??)..
But there's something about Calatravas that makes me want to keep opening it over and over again.
Voodoo Loas - I opened this first, and to tell you the truth, I wasn't very impressed. It shows great improvement, X250, don't get me wrong, but it seemed way too thrown together and random. The custom ride was awesome, I'm a sucker for those. But I wasn't a big fan of the woodie. Coasters that are diagonal that long rarely ever impress me, they always look bad from at least two angles. The architecture shows great skill, but again, it was way too random for me. Good job, anyway.
Calatravas - At first, I wasn't really impressed by this, either, which really let me down. When I heard itwas going to be Corkscrewed and Slob, I was expecting some kickass merging of Gotheburg and Aviara Cove. However, the more I explored the map, the more I liked it. All the little details were awesome, and the monorail was just cool. Slob did a great job on the vertical drop ride, top-notch the entire ride. I don't think the theming on it was as good as I expected, but it's still better than average. Cork's coaster was pretty fun to watch, too. I really liked how it went all over the map.
Great matchup, guys, it's a damn shame this wasn't able to take place during the actual season.
Hurricanes gets my vote, without doubt.
The park was just so much more refined. Where the Germans' park had messy and unstructured architecture, the Hurricanes' park was just pure architectural bliss. Every building was defined and individual while still fitting very well with the rest of the theme. The park layout in the Hurricanes' park looked a lot more thought out (and realistic), and I just loved the contrast between the industrial/futuristic buildings and the very natural-looking volcano.
As for coasters, the ones in the Hurricanes' park was very well intergrated with the theming, and the dive machine was very nice, unlike the Germans' coaster which just looked out of place.
And the Hurricanes' park had all those neat little touches - underwater creatures, monorail supports, the shaft transportation ride, just to mention some. Definitely one of the best parks of the season.
That was suprisingly, for me, a tough decision. I quite liked both parks, almost equally.
Calatravas had an awesome coaster, and a good idea behind it. I loved the themeing.
Voodoo Loas had a custom flat ride that totally caught my eye from the word go, plus I felt the park had a nicely created atmosphere, through the architecture.
Wow, looks like Cork is starting to pull way ahead, if this hold up you know only one swing vote in games 1 or 2 would have made us champs? I blame it all on Alec who doomed Gotheberg, bastard
I wonder how close this would've been swapping the few votes from German's team members that would've voted for their team, but didnt because this didnt matter
Well, I'm guessing my vote doesn't count now, but I voted for the Hurricanes. Voodoo Loas was just waay too sloppy for my tastes. Usually, I like this kind of style, but it didn't work too well in this park IMO. The coaster was vey nice, though
Calatravas, is incredible. The architecture is solid and sets a perfect atmosphere and the coaster was the best part.

And The Color Seizure After Tomorrowland didn't have anything to do with it, did it?

And if the votes were swapped... I guess it'd be a closer margin, unless six or more Germans didn't vote for their team.
