Five day rule. When it's a consistent SCORE (not lead) or when it's been five days, the result will be called, even if it's a one or two vote lead. Sometimes, you lose by that much. It's been in the rules since Week 2, and I'm not going to change it, even if it means costing my own team the victory.
Cuz I'm fair like that (yo).
I thought about bringing that up by I decided not to for risk of sounding evil and bias.
Hey if you guys win by a vote that's cool too, both parks desirve to win and both have lead, the Tree just seems to have gained the upper hand here at the end.
Makes me look forward to seeing what next week has in store.

LMAO guys. This is classic, a tie in the finals. LMAO. Well hopefully it'll swing over a vote or two one way or the other so we don't have to have an extra 24-hour long poll.
Metalface (bah, I still know you as slob ) I might be off on this, but considering that the last vote was apparently cast by SAC (I saw him browsing the topic at the same time the vote changed) I think we're...running out of voters. Perhaps more people null voted this time around as this is still 20 less total votes than have now been cast for Week 2 (but it is tied in total with the close one in Week 5). Still 20 hours left though so we'll see what happens.
The score of this match at the time it was called is: Hurricanes 51 Flying Germans 52
In basically the tightest matchup ever, the Flying Germans JUST eek it out on a last day vote by... well, you'll have to ask Iris to find out who it was. But OUCH... to lose by one... The Germans take a 1-0 lead in H2H3 Finals. To my memory, the winner of the first game of the last two finals went on to win the whole shebbang...
Ya know, I was afraid of this when I saw our park. Yeah, it was great, but something solid but flashy could give it problems. Need I mention who made Gotheburg?
The Hurricanes' Gotheburg was made by Slob and his alter-ego Metalface.
The Flying Germans' The Faraway Tree was made by MVP candidate X-Sector and Sleeper of the Year cand.idate Splash-O.
Game 2... the stakes are high. Win or go home for the Canes. Meanwhile, the Improbable Germans are on the verge of becoming the first non-Iris led H2H Champion in NE history.
it took me trying to recreate and capture the essence of gotheburg for me to really appreciate how absolutely fucking well it was done. these are quintessentially the best "true duellers" ever done in rct, and theres nothing here that isn't engaging but yet at the same time doesn't ever attempt to overshadow the ride design in importance.
i envy how well everything in this park is laid out like you dont fucking know how genius it is to do this THIS organically until you try it yourself... like the half-arch seating area right underneath the track dip???? ive never seen integration done as well as this and historically speaking it wasn't even rivaled in this context until probably magic realms came along
And I thought my panel vote was going to be on the high end of things. I hope the appreciation this received was because of the elegance of landscaping and sheer beauty in his style. It certainly was for me, and I'm very happy parks that don't follow a recreationalist meta are still loved so much today.
I agree with Shotguns on the big difference it makes when you try to build like this. Slob just had the talent and didn't have to think. I also remember how gutted I was when it lost. In 2005 you could still impress people with gigantic and intentionally spectacular H2H-esque RCT2 structures. And Faraway Tree was good work, no question, but for me has nowhere near the longevity Götheburg has.
Nice to see this get gold. I still love this park's feel and duel.
The fact that it lost is almost shocking. It was game 1 of a best of 3 finals. Game 2, we lost by 1 vote again! Rigged? We would have won game 3 with our Cork and SloB duo... This is why the Hurricanes only won two championships in a row when it so easily could have been a threepeat.
