the mollester's park pulled off what it was supposed to be nicely, but for me, it lacked substance. i mean, 2x2 buildings on a cliffside can only hold my attention for so long. but the woody was awesome. i know who built the park, i think, and all i can say is that i'm dissapointed. mostly because it could have had more. but good job on such dynamic landscaping. it took me a second to actually notice it was giant hole in the ground.
Redwood Downs is so much nicer, and had the certain substance the mollester's park didn't. it was such a unique theme, and the architecture is fantastic. the tri-duelers shouldn't be ignored, either. They're good, and rare to come by. Great job. You guys get my vote.
whoa, triple duellers. not seen in literally ages. the park got my vote, also because it was more finished. could have easily been the other way round though if the mollesters had had more time.
I am very impressed by our park this round, I thought that the triple duelers were fantastic, and the architecture was exquisite. A very nice atmosphere, here. It's the little details that make this park. The foliage is good, and it looks as if time has been spent on each ride individually, which is refreshing to see.
I don't have LL (speak to me Phil!), but purely from the overview screen, it looks like a very good landscape. However, i'm not too sure why the land has been jaggeded up so much, it seems to me a more flowing land surface may have worked better. The coaster looks good, as well, but there just seems to be a lack of actual stuff.
I'm curious what this "disturbing series of events" you alluded to on the main page are. Anyway, I haven't taken a look at the parks yet but the screens really do tell the whole story. Forclaz looks like a rather nice park in the making. I like the idea. Inverting the typical mountain landscape looks fantastic. I would have liked to see you come up with a unique architecture style - given that it is some new civilization. And I'm not sure where you were going with the trees. They certainly wouldn't have been growing there underwater. Anyway, it's sad to see stuff like this that doesn't get completed. Especially when it's something this ambitious. I hope you guys do get around to finishing it sometime, even if it's too late for the competition.
In contrast, Redwood Downs is definately a finished park and the funny thing is, it's like the exact inverse of the Mollesters park. It's very flat but it looks like very good architecture - well in a typical RCT2 way. Kinda looks like rwadams' style. Can't comment on the coaster yet, but anyway I like the idea.
Oh I see how it is. It's just you used the word 'disturbing' which seemed to imply something more than that. Oh well.
And while I'm on the topic, I think calling the Mollesters a 'powerhouse' was a pretty big exaggeration too. They've recieved all the luck that's somehow alluded the Vehemences. They tied the Hurriucanes and barely beat us and most of their parks have been variations on the same basic theme. The Seal Clubbers have been fortunate too. Really the only team that could justifiably be called a powerhouse right now is the Hurricanes.
oh no, the turn of events WAS disturbing. 60% of our members were stricken with explosive and bloody and green diarrhea. We suspect the Hurricanes. If thats not disturbing, I don't know what is.
What's with the shitty turnout? If I told you who made these, would that drive the vote up?
Probably not. Neither park is horribly exciting... My vote goes to Redwood Downs for being slighty more original in the thinking sense and also for being far more refined and beatiful. As nice as Forclaz's woodie is it just doesn't hold it's own very well against the clubbers.
I agree though, the Hurricanes are the only 'powerhouse' the clubbers only have such a good record from using depatibly their strongest player in week one, then getting a lucky dq in week two. Ever victory since has been more the faunt of the other team falling off a bit on exicution than their 'greatness'. The Hurricane's have only had one weak park all season; the MoLLsters haven't had a weak park at all but they haven't rolled out anything on the scale of Rockwood or Parkmakerz at all.
Basically the clubbers are getting a lock on the finals here, and I don't like seeing that since I'm on a team that could loose out if they make it and IIIcons make a come back.

good point gym; and ride6, you forgot to mention the situation that Raven & I had to deal with in wk5. 40% of Rapper's Delight was built in under 36 hours and was better excuted than a park your team had actually planned for that week. That to me demonstrates that the Clubbers have one defining skill that has given us a playoff spot-> EXECUTION, also not to mention a critical divisional win.
Anyway, Redwood Downs turned out much better than I actually expected. It's really got a clean, tidy appearance.....and those tri-duelers, just superb....
From the overview of the MoLLesters park, it seems to be a masterpiece landscaping-wise, but really appears to lack in substance, which will easily deter h2h voters IMO. As steve said, 2x2 archy on cliffside can only hold one's attention for so long.....
What can I say? We are deservedly beaten here. I do like our park though and you'll all be surpsied by who made it, although you can see the beginings of greatness here, time just worked against us for once this round.
Oh well we should still make the playoffs and we'll be back stronger next week - mark my words.
I wish there had been more substance to Excavation de la Forclaz because that park was really headed towards brilliance. Unfortunatley, I don't think most people realize how much work must be put into that landscaping, which by the way was really inspiring (although I agree that you could have smoothed out some segments to create a varied surface). The rollercoaster, too, had a great layout which hugged and interacted with its terrain very well. As a whole though, the park was eventually lacking substance and that water-ride looked rediculously out of place.
In the end, I had to choose Redwood Downs, even though I have plenty of problems with that park also.
To be honest, I probably should have picked Excavation de la Forclaz for all it could have been. Whatever the hell that means.

The horse racing is a great idea, too.

And I tend to oversell things when I'm in my official "Admin Posting News" mode. I think I gained it from Iris...

The LL park had a great concept and the woodie was fantastic, but did not seem to grab my attention for that long.
My vote went to the Seal Clubbers.
