Anyways congrats on the sweet 16 you 2...

Um, yeah. Mine was supposed to be a racing coaster, I purposely built them so the bad guys would be ahead at first, and the good guys would kick ass at the end. Believe me, if I wanted to make it a tight finish, like any of the coasters in RCTM's Nascar Park, I would have made it that way.
Corkscrewed: Cool entry, I've gotto see Kill Bill. From what I can tell it's themed very well, and perhaps some of those buildings wer inspired by a certain someone or maybe not ... Very nice timing on the elements and such, but I think the theming, especially the snow aspect of it could have been pulled off in a less tacky fasion.
Kevin: Nice building. Very nice, but that's about it. Though I do like how you used the jungle trees in there, pretty interesting... Landscape was good as well.
Titan: I'll edit in my review a little later.

Corkscrewed, I thought yours was the best of the four. Nicely done...great duelers. Titan, yours was great, just too unfinished to get by....I'm definatley waiting for the complete version. Don't feel bad either, some people just need more time to build.

Well...uh, I'm probably at a disadvantage here having seen neither of the Kill Bill films. So I wasn't really sure, except the battle part, which I get. The few duels there were were perfect, perfectly choreographed like one of those cinematographic fight scenes. So that was cool. But you needed more of those, man. There were only 3 parts where they interacted. And all the Crazy 88 knight guys and the random flying coaster zooming around like a parrot on cocaine just confused me. So sorry Corky.
The Haunted Mansion
Whoa, a ride based on a movie based on a ride. My mind is blown. Anyway, haven't seen this movie either. But that big building doesn't look like WDW's Haunted Mansion, or the pics I've seen of Disneyland's. Maybe it's a whole new creation for the movie, or something. I don't know. At any rate, the building was very good, but the ride inside didn't exactly fulfill. So it was half good. But we need more ride, man.
Open Range
Ah, I'm a sucker for a good sprawling woodie. This one delivered. Very good design, a classic out-and-back racer. Keep it old-school. The detail along some parts of the track was good and other parts it was bare, though. But the front of it, with the little Western town, and the entry way and the station, were all very excellent. I really liked this one. And I haven't even seen the movie.
X-2
Eh...it's a shame about that whole screwed-up-file thing, because this one was going places. I seriously believe we would have a winner here had everything gone okay and it were finished. But hey, it happens. What you have here was really good. Very comic bookish. I haven't seen that movie, but I did watch the Fox Kids cartoon back in the day.
So, um, I'm going with PenguinBOB on this one. Long live wooden coasters.
EDIT: Oops. I voted for Titan's. God I'm stupid. I meant Open Range, though. Sorry about that.

Showdown At House of the Blue Leaves VS X2
The way i look at it, it's actually a finished pile of shit versus an unfinished masterpiece. What was there in X2's entry rocked my world.. and well, Corkscrewed, what was there in SaHotBL didn't exactly.. The supports on the coasters were about the only things i did like =/. But the building in Titan's would have sealed the vote for me, even unfinished.
Open Range VS The Haunted Mansion
mmm.. very tough. The thing that would have done it for me were the brilliant wooden coasters. The "cross under turn" thing was lovely. The theming sparce though. The Haunted Mansion building.. i wasn't too fond of that, but i loved the surroundings. But as been said before, it needed more of a ride, or atleast you could've had the ghost thingie go in and out of the building a couple of times, and sort of "tour" the building. oh well..
And yeah, if it was put up in the topics, i would have been voting for this round, though i think then iris' vote still seals the deal so it wouldn't 've helped you guys. Congrats to the winners anyhow.

If X2 was finished, it would have got my vote. I loved the layout, and the buildings/themeing that was there was great.
The Haunted mansion was ok, but its just boring to watch a ghost train go around with see through scenery. If i could see theming for the ghost train it would be better, i cant understand how this beat an wicked pair of dueling woodies.
Kill Bill.. The supports were great, but there was too many odd little inversion that looked akward and ruined the flow of the rest. An example of what i mean is the small bend right to the half loop. It seemed really out of place to be there, when the rest of the ride was big..

The Haunted Mansion - Sort of boring. The mansion itself looked a lot like the castles from Toons round 1 entry, and the landscaping and foilage reminded of that also. I found the whole thing to be pretty uninteresting, the ride wasn't any fun and wasn't even visible unless the mansion was destroyed, or the scenery made invisible... The foilage was probably the best part, I think, the jungle trees worked well and the placement was good.
Open Range - Really liked it. Cool concept with the good guys coaster winning the race despite having a disadvantage at the beginning, and it was done well. The little western town was really good too, nice attention to detail. The actual ride could have been a bit more interestingly themed, which is the only negative I can find.
X2 - Wow, if only this had been finished. Fantastic coaster and great theming, I really liked the underwater tunnels, and the arches and giant letters on the main building are a nice touch. Good use of Toon's land blocks too, probably the best after Toon himself. Too bad it was so unfinished, really. Oh, and I just noticed the the X-Jet made out of 1/4 blocks in the corner... Very cool.
Showdown At House of the Blue Leaves - At first I was unsure if this really was Corky's entry, because it looks unlike anything I've seen from him, which is a good thing. The dueling coasters was good, and managed to capture the characters from the movie and their battle. I loved the room where the big fight took place, you have really recreated it well, with the glass floor and water and all.
Nice Japanese-style architecture, but I didn't like the landscaping and foilage very much, it looked to busy to really get the sort of peaceful feeling the garden has in the movie.

Corkscrewed - I really enjoyed this. It's hard to make snow in rct2 look good, but you managed it . Some solid invert layouts, some of your best. The theming was great, and all the crazy knights were cool. I maybe would have appreciated it more if i'd seen the film.
Titan - What was there of this was awesome. The coaster layout was supreme, as I would expect from you. The architecture was excellent, and those underwater tunnels were stellar. If it were complete, you would have got through this round. But you are probably going to complete it anyway (i hope) so i look forward to it.
Pbob - Those western buildings were awesome . The woodie layouts were also awesome. The woodies theming however, was minimal, which let it down a little. Nice concept though, and great excecution
Kevin - What was there was great. The building was well done. Not the most stunning piece of RCT2 architecture, but it was nice. The gardens of the mansion were excellent. I think the nicest touch was that porch bit overlooking the lake. But the ride itself was rather dull. Nice entry, but I think Pbob should have won this one.

Excellent entry here. The little western town awesome, so many great details (the church had a cross on it!). The layout was great, nothing mindblowing, but great. Cool little fire pits too (with wooden logs to sit on!).
The Haunted Mansion
Big black mansion! It was great. I liked the porch, that thing was screaming atmosphere all the way across the lake, dude. Good use of Fisherman's new stuff. I liked the graveyard and the foliage too, thats good stuff. I also noticed you had a few objects misplaced up high on the house, but nothing major. And yes, the ride was boring, sorry to point out the obvious. Do a coaster, man!
X-2
Best of round, for me. This thing couldn't kick anymore ass. Great landblockage, AWESOME underwater tunnel, and kick-fucking-ass buildings, man. If you keep this stuff up and stay active, I don't see any reason for you not to be parkmaker'd. Great, great stuff.
Showdown At House of the Blue Leaves
Eh, not my cup of tea (green tea that is ). I liked the buildings, but the coaster/trees/snow was just a turn off for me. Still, good job on beating the stuffing out of Titan.
Awesome round.

I guess it takes seeing the movie to appreciate this in-full? I thought it was stunning and very well executed. I really enjoyed the "depth" of the entry, the trip through the courtyard with the Crazy 88 stuck to the storyline very well. Go Go also made an appearance (as the "random flying coaster zooming around like a parrot on cocaine" ) which also fit right in. I liked the design of the coasters, and the Great Bear-esque drop on O-Ren Ishii. Topped off with some excellent architecture and interesting landscaping, this was my favorite entry.
X-2 by Titan
What was there was very nice and well executed. The ride wasn't as "encompassing" as you would think a movie ride to be. It fell short of making the ride an experience by not drawing more on the futuristic-ness of the theme. The ride itself was a generic Hulk-like coaster, there wasn't anything surrounding it that made it stick out, because it wasn't a part of any atmosphere. I would have liked it more, and you would have been more of a contender, had the ride been included in the rest of the atmosphere - it feels as though it's on the outside looking in.

The Haunted Mansion by Kevin
The architecture on the mansion was incredible, the porch area was great. I would have liked to see more of the ride inside the mansion themed to different rooms, akin to the one in real life. The minimalistic scenery and foliage was great around the graveyard, and the trees chosen worked very well with the theme. The theme was suitable for a more energetic ride, but what was there was nice.
Open Range by penguinBOB
I really liked the atmosphere around the station area of the coaster. But any and all atmosphere you had going there completely dissipated. I'd say it was a similiar situation to Titan's entry - the ride left the atmosphere behind. Had there been "more" along the stretch of the coaster, it would have proved to be more enjoyable than looking at mediocre landscaping.

I just HAD to do this... (Quote everything)
I had 1 week for goodness sake... give a poor guy a break...
I think Cork somehow made my PC crash while I was saving to lose a whole week of work... LOL, j/k. I'm still upset though...
My comments on the other entries as soon as I can veiw them...
penguinBOB Offline
Oh well, I'm just a little frustrated at the moment, and my mood carried over from school just isn't helping either. A one point I though about making up a "fake" town, but 1 week just isn't enough for that.
as for Titan's entry. Sorry dude. Thought it was uber cool and all, but you screwed yourself by paying too much attention to details (i.e. all them land blocks and such) (that and how you laid out your ride)... Just not enough time... I thought the beginning between the station and the lift was a bit quarky, but it could have been pulled off pretty well with theming. I take back what I said about the ride type, it definately worked out well with how you were theming it. Buildings were excellent (what you had) and the atmosphere was superb. It was a close race, but it definately wouldn't have been had you had 2 whole weeks.

X-2 - It was look pretty good, but unfinished. It definately had potential to be the winner, but you got screwed. Sorry about that.
Haunted Mansion - This one was also very good. The ride itself was boring, but the mansion was awesome!
Kill Bill - I did not like this one much. The coaster was not the best and I thought some of your landscaping was lacking.
Anyways good job all!!!

Anyway, I thought mine was hit or miss. Theming obviously wasn't the emphasis here; it was more an attempt to make a good pair of duelers. I hope people liked the actual coasters. The Japanese garden thing was pretty hard to make look good given the scenery options out there, but yeah... after a while, I was just filling stuff in to finish it.
WME might have hit it straight on the head: finished piece of shit beats unfinished potential masterpiece.
I can't wait to see what the final version looks like, though, Titan. (Yes, folks, he's going to finish it anyway) You are definitely a hot prospect in my book.

Well I pretty much agree with everything said about this one. I mean I gotta give you your props for the sweet rooving designs and such, but it was still one building, and a kind of boring ride. If there was some other way to interpet it, I'm sorry, I missed it.

This would have won for me. The duelers were awesome, with cool little details and such. I fell in love with the architecture, as I can imagine it looking exactly like that in real life. I haven't seen the movie, but very nice. My only dislike is the lanscaping... but the architecture and coaster was enough for me to really enjoy it.

Showdown
I'm not really sure about this one... Yes, the coasters had some pretty cool duels, so I'll give you that. But I wasn't a fan of the coasters in terms of layouts. I think they could have been made to look nicer, even though they do have to duel (But if it was impossible to make 'em look great, I understand). I'm sure that if I would have seen the movie it wouldn't hurt. When I opened the park, I must say, the LAST thing I was expecting was snow, but I have no idea why. The park has some nice things about it, like the parrot and the soliders (I may find out the real meaning behind them someday), but overall it just didn't click for me. I thought the snow theme could have been pulled off MUCH better, especially for someone of your caliber ( ). It seemed pretty bare, and the landscape overall felt flat. The lack of color may even be what killed it for me, who knows. The architecture wasn't clicking either for some reason... So I can't really say I enjoyed it. But congrats on the win anyway, it won't happen again...
Quality: Average (IMHO)
Quanity: Good
X-Jet
Ah... my 'unfinished masterpiece'... I have to agree, what was there, didn't cover alot of space, but I assure you alot WAS there. I think I'm 1/20 of the object limit in that little space... And the thing took FOREVER. I worked extremely hard on this, put alot of work into it, but I just couldn't finish it in a week. I just can't help but feel that if I would have made ride inhoused in a building like Kevin than maybe the judges would have voted it as finished, I really don't know (Kinda silly isn't it?). So anywhow, look forward to a 20Xs better version soon...
Quality: Good

=======================
Well thanks for the comments, especially DJ, Cork, and WME. The X-Jet is not final, its actually the first one I made, and based the whole idea on that being involved as theming somewhere... (I obviously didn't get far enough for that to happen).
I don't really understand the judges... Kevin's was small and good, but beat out pBOB's who's was finished, but Cork's was finished, mine was good, but it didn't win... Someone help me out here? I think if Cork won, pBOB should have too...

Titan - What you did do was awsome, but you just did not finish, keep it up man, your skills are getting scary. 7.1
Kevin - Ok I have never seen this movie so im not sure if the building was made to look like it, but in RCT it just looks like crap, and the ride only made it worse. 3.8
BOB - What can I say, you got screwed, awsome ride and themeing, give me flashbacks to SWAdv. 8.4
