    Mala's park was fantastic. While his style doesn't appeal to me much, his in genius ideas do. The buildings were very detailed, and his ratings were awesome as usuall. I'll have to look it in more in depth later - but I think that If I was judging that I would have put X-Sector's park as #1. Both were increable, and I am damn proud (as ed puts it) to have the third place entry.

    Oh, I should probably explain to Mantis where the name for the park came from. lol. I actually was finishing the park up and didn't have a name for it. Now, I always listen to music when I play rct, so at this time I was listening to the radio. One of the commercials was for "Lumbini Spa". The add further went on saying that Lumbini was an indain word meaning "A beautiful grove of trees". So I named the park, added the finishing touches, and sent it in the day before the deadline. it's (supposed) to be pronounced 'Lum-bee-nee'. :D And that's it.

    I'm an RCT2 person. But, I dunno, I didn't like how entire stations were made from wooden crosses. It turned me off.

    However, really the whole contest was excellent. Even Bigfoot's #20 didn't suck. Every park had something that made it stand out. I see now why mine is #12...altho im still waiting for Kai to comment!

    You could actually make 10+ coaster pretty easily if you knew the tricks.

    The real art is making them that high and making them look good.

    I really pity you, thorpedo. (EDIT: TPM and thorpedo.. i coulda sworn it was the person..)

    1st of all i REALLY liked x´s park. but it was missing something. It wasn´t totally amazing, coz it wasn´t totally original and had minor details i didn´t like about it. Ozone´s park, although an 18 intense coaster, was amazing too, specially the restaurant on the bars.

    however, they don´t compete with mala, imo. Mala´s was awesome. After one minute i thought, man i expected more of this. Then i kept looking, and looking, and looking, and seeing all of the amazing details.. Just look at the phoenix near the phoenix water ride! amazing. The beemer had a really awesome layout with incredible speed. And the woodie was in some ways a let down but the landscaping makes up for it. And best of all, all that archy. Especially the archy combined with the rides. the merry go around! the magic carpet ride. IMO, this park is by far the most amazing thing in RCT2 yet, and it has nothing to do with mala´s name. And since i thought he had a tad too much realism in the mine train, and missed some foliage near that, and some of the archy was of (i can indeed see those bits as well) i think we´ve yet to see how good he´ll really get with rct2. Funny thing is he actually builds in somewhat of an NE style now. The part where it becomes fantasy is the part where it´s so incredibly much better than anything else. Anyways, i think i´ll end this chatter like blitz put it in a few words. (=P)

    Incredible Stuff, Congrats Mala

    The park was amazing and I don't see how it was a tiebreaker with mine as this was outstanding the best thing in RCT2.

    The beemer was great. A werid layout but it still looked good at the same time. the architecture was really good and the details in the park were great. I loved the burning house and the pump room that connected to a water tower. the use of 1/4 building blocks is awesome. The parks amazing what more can I say.

    The park was fantastic. Every aspect of the park was executed perfectally. However, it pisses me off when people put an abundance of truss' on the beemer like you did, but thats no biggie.

    I'm sorry, but my list goes like Pyro's. He may have seemed tough, but I agree with him in every way. Cloverfield made my day, I'd like to see a lot more of that architecture Cork!

    I guess I didn't like Mala's because I like good looking reallistic coasters, I hate peach, I judge on tree selection, and because Mala's park looks like parks that I start over on... sorry.

    There's my 2 cents...

    my mini reivews of the rct2 parks that i recently viewed:

    Butterfingers entry was my favorite. The architecure was inspiring, the rides were good. I loved that chariot ride, it was amazing! The boat sculptures could have been done better IMO, and the layout could have been a bit better, but it was original.

    Mala's park was the second best in the contest. The rides were usual mala-insane (which is the best, of course). The archiecture was pretty good, but couldn't touch butterfingers IMO and the landscaping was slightly questionable. I guess i prefer mala in RCT1, but he has shown that he can definetly prosper in RCT2.

    This has been one sweet ride my friends. Downloading these parks over the past couple weeks has been one of the most memorable events in RCT history for me. Working on Escalante River Falls was a gift in itself. The park took on a very natural evolution right from the start. Or rather before it was announced actually. Once I saw Toon’s new custom sculptural/architectural elements that had appeared on the scene, my mind immediately started flashing on places I had visited in the great American Southwest. I have seen lots of ruins and quite a few amazingly beautiful environments in which past cultures or civilizations seem to have settled and flourished in. The Anasazi have always fascinated me and their ancient cliff dwellings left me speechless when I first encountered them. I remember there were artist renderings around these sites that depicted what kind of civilization was supposedly there. I had my own ideas. I had seen similar stuff in Europe that left me with the impression that some of this stuff was a lot older than the accepted belief systems claim. Later on I found out that that there were lots of diverse theories about the Anasazi. Of course I was attracted to the ones that spoke of them being some kind of living library or a link to the true past of the Earth, a responsibility bestowed upon them by their extra-terrestrial elders who sometimes came in ships and sometimes in dreams. Little is known of the fate of the Anasazi to any definite understanding, which I found compelling in its similarity to the mysterious fates of so many ancient civilizations on this planet. Something big must have happened.
    Anyway, when I saw Toon’s custom scenery choices for Hi-Rollers, I knew what I had to do. I had been toiling around with RCT2 for quite awhile already. So this was not the first time I have ever spent time with RCT2. But ¼ tile scenery was basically new to me, especially Toon’s sculptural elements that I used extensively throughout ERF. I entered Hi-Rollers not for the cash but for the opportunity to have something be seen and in the not so distant future. If art is not seen then it is just self-indulgence. I forget who said that, I think it was Marilyn Manson. My parks are art to me. As yours are to you. There are no rules to my art, so I guess right from the start I piss people off because a lot of people have a lot of rules when it comes to their RCT. I build animated worlds that I see through a peeps point of view. Sort of like that amazing RCTGL program. That is why I have always enjoyed working parks I guess, even if those peeps are excruciatingly obtuse. Out of all the endless art forms out there, I feel most connected to something out there when I am creating a park.
    For Escalante River Falls the connection came at light speed. Although the rapids attraction proudly flaunts the park’s name, it was the Escalante Express that conjured up the entire geography and layout of ERF. How vulnerable would one feel careening around cliff faces in a panorama of ruins, red rocks and waterfall laden caves? Nah, that just wouldn’t be enough. Then I saw it…The swan dive off of the mountain top…and then a mad, air filled romp right through the center of Old Escalante Town. This was the actual moment Escalante River Falls was conceived. There were so many construction issues to work out due to the terrain and the coaster layout, that the park basically started to build itself from that point, out of necessity. I once again had created a huge challenge for myself, so I knew I was on the right track to building something unique. Then I had my own RCT or rather RCT2 epiphany…the depths one can go using detail with custom objects is staggering. The choices are virtually limitless. I worried about hitting the sprite limit as I progressed. This will have to be a huge concern for my next work. Anyway, you get the idea. This has just been awesome!

    Great Job Raven and Iris for putting Hi-Rollers together. I would like to thank you guys by donating the prize money to NE. As honored as I am I know how expensive it is to run this site. So how about adding it to the ante for the next Hi-Roller or just use it for site expenses. If not just give it to Toon because without his inspiring scenery Escalante River Falls and many other RCT2 creations would not exist.

    Ed, Mantis and Evil, the way you guys express your views of ERF is just perfect. You get it.
    I was going to do a story but I ran out of time. I was elated to hear that you became immersed in your experience and really took the time to explore. I can tell Mantis actually followed Anasazi around with the G-force graphs. This is why he is Mantis.

    I loved so many parts of so many entries that I one by one downloaded these last couple weeks. Nate’s Tree was cool. Trojan Dynasty, Cloverfield and Carnival of Lost Souls caught my eye. I found something I liked in most of the entries, but X’s did keep me there in his park for some time. This whole comparison thing is ridiculous in my opinion. LL and RCT2 are solor systems apart. Crepe Myrtle Islands is gorgeous and inspired. I loved it.

    Oh yeah, and thanks to Blitz who always preaches the good word.

    And last but not least, I appreciate all the enthusiastic responses. This contest did stir things up in a good way I think. I think we all need to adjust to how RCT2 will evolve. It can be a harrowing experience.

    Damn, Adam. Catching up for all those times you DON'T talk, eh?

    But basically, yeah. I totally understand building from a peep's point of view. That's what I've evolved into doing for RCT 2, though you've been doing that for a while. That's why each of your parks isn't just a park, but a WORLD.

    Congratulations, because you definitely deserved the win.

    Come to think about it, the top four all deserved to win.

    That has to be one of the most detailed parks ever. The village section of the park was perfection. There was just absolutely no flaws whatsoever. I didn't like the steel coaster all too much as it went way too fast through the course, and would create some pretty heavy sustained g's. The river rafts ride was great, as was the woodie for the most part. The Pump house was another well executed, and unbelievably detailed ride. Overall the park definately deserved to win, but the Steel coaster wasn't one of my favorites.

    anywho, it´s nice to see how you get inspired. And it´s double nice to see you enjoying all of the rct world, meaning you might, uhmm.. stick around perhaps :D , and build full maps :D , most of my rct2 inspiration comes from objects too, however, i still need to finish something.

    and i get IT.. Mala says so ;)
