I was really happy to see a Tim Burton park, as I love most of his films... And that park was executed really beautifully! I must say I loved Robbie's areas the most, especially Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish and Sweeney Todd! The chocolate factory was also done really well! The entrance area reminded me a bit of Disney's Shadowlands which is a good thing haha! I love all the landmarks you've put in there from Sleepy hollow, like the tree, the bridge, the field and the church! I though that the windmill was missing, which was an important part of the movie imo but I can understand that you couldn't include all the landmarks. Oh and that woodie was great. I loved it - clearly the best ride of the park! Spectre was nice too. I loved the shoes, the leaning house and the demolished farm. I loved the whole atmosphere in those two areas - Really nice work! Also the chocolate factory area was cool. I liked how it was grey and cold outside the factory and inside the area it was colorful and sweet. Just like in the movie. The sunken balloon stalls were a great touch and a neat idea. Also I instantly recognized the dancing umpa lumpa scene by the chocolate river. The glass elevator was great too. The golden ticket ride was nice, the interaction was awesome. I agree that you should have used another soundtrack for the park. Tim Burton and Danny Elfman just belong together and would fit more IMO. The Sweeney Todd area was another favourite of mine, as I said already. The archy was superb and I think it's common known that I love these type of themes! Mrs Lovett's clearly was the main building in this area and I totally loved it. The grinders at the end of the ride were a great touch, I saw them when I looked at the park for the second time - kudos to that! The ride itself was nice, although 1 or 2 more inversion would have been even better! The centerpiece - the mansion was also nice but not really pretty acurate. I know how difficult it is to find proper images of the mansion as I've built the building myself too already. Also I think the gardens of the suburbs should have been in the front of the buildings, facing the path. The nightmare before christmas area was nice, and kudos for pulling of such a difficult theme so nicely! I like the swirling black thingy on top of the hill, but maybe it would have been cooler if you made that with landblocks. The invert had a good layout, although it was a bit fast paced. And I also was missing a Jack and Sally ride somehow. I also must say that I didn't like the water ride that much, it looked a bit forced. The last area - planet of the apes - also had a nice coaster in it and what I can remember of the movie the theme was pulled off really well. I could remember that giant crashed ship when I saw that park. haha. The archy was really well done, I liked the unorganized feel of it. Maybe the desert-ish area was a bit too barren for the rest of the park. I thought that the POTA area didn't really fit into the park, as it was just a remake movie. Maybe you really should have used another theme instead of POTA (Beetlejuice or Mars Attacks). I felt that most of the park was a bit crammed in the end, so you had to use many 1 tile-wide paths - that made the park a bit busy imo. Also I must say there were some smaller things I didn't like - like the peep jams, the train stopped on top of the lifthill, unnamed personnel, and closed rides... Those are things I also look at!
All in all I really loved the park and the themes, though and I'm glad you three worked together. Congrats!

But in all seriousness, I'm very happy to have been a part of this team. I learned a lot from this contest, and I felt that our team worked perfectly together down to the bitter end. Congrats to the Canes'. Wish we could have given you guys a run for your money.

Neither did we, save for one 'team member' who's negativity probably brought this all about. I'm rather spiritual/superstitious....and finding out (in the team forums) after the fact that one certain individual, in his own mind, had 'predicted' this would happen certainly doesn't sit well with me. I worked too hard for too long to have this happen without wondering why.
I'm not saying that his negative thoughts MADE this happen.
But, I sure as shit have no other explanation. Except that this game has a mind of it's own at times.
This is all really kicking in right now.....and, I feel like I screwed up our perfect season.
Even though I know there was nothing that I could have done differently to change the outcome.
I busted my ass to get us a championship....it didn't happen. Deal, life goes on.
Although, a little help could have made a huge difference.
Next H2H, I'm gonna Captain a team and make sure everyone works together and is on the same page throughout the entire contest whether they like it or not. Everyone knows the fuckbucket I can be .

So I would say they were the most lucky with their opponent's parks.. The Elementalists definitely were the most unlucky
Granted, all the parks Geewhzz was participating in, were phenomenal, which makes him imo MVP definitely..
I doubt that if it wasn't for Gee you guys even got into the semifinals.. And with all respect K0NG, Belmont wasn't even a 1/10 of its quality if gee's stuff was left out..
I still don't get how you got such an important match this messed up.. I would've at least send in what you got and try to make it look finished (isn't that hard), only to give the Canes a fair match and to give this awesome season its respected ending.. Now imo it's like H2H4 all over again, with an anticlimax..
If you're so upset with this "teammate" so that you didn't finish the park (only to give the impression it's his fault you didn't finish that little park) I think that says something about you..
With this action you have disrespected a lot of members on NE giving their all this H2H season imo, especially the Canes for busting their asses to get their park finished on time, and I just don't take that crap anymore about error trappers and all those weak excuses of not finishing parks.. There are quite some people here using that excuse EVERY H2H season, and it just bothers the hell out of me.. I had them too, and I think you're a pretty smart guy, so I think if you just give a little bit about your hard work you save often, like every 15 minutes, like I do in new save game file.. It's just bullcrap to only have 1 or 2 save games, or like using 3 save games for 100+ hours of work. I just don't buy that.. You say though, you went back to previous save games, but they all had the error trapper pop up after a while.. I just can't imagine how that is possible.. If anything, and I'm sure everyone would've done that, is taking it back to the scenario editor.. That way, you can figure out if the error comes from the rides.. If no error trapper pops up again in the SE, then you only have to rebuild the rides, which can be taken care of easily.. Most error trappers come from rides in combination with hacking, or multitile scenery that got hacked into.. But that is common knowledge of course..
And why didn't you ask for some help in your team forums.. Ok, so zburns was out.. Geewhzz, egg_head and Fr3ak were not possible.. That left Tolsimir, Bacchus, jusmith, ][ntamin and Stromrunnerfan.. I'm sure one of these guys would want to help you out..
So yeah, after reading through your explanations, I'm pretty disappointed at how this season ended..

Like, "if you don't post an update tomorrow, I'll kill you"
I've been thinking about this, and while it's a very good way of captaining (the "drill instructor" style), I think it takes some of the fun away from the whole idea behind the contest.. I know, because I was 'enduring' Kumba as leader in H2H3
But it's certainly proven effective..
JKay had like the opposite style of Kumba, in H2H4.. He certainly got a 'unified team thing' going, which I was kinda missing in H2H3.. I was enjoying the 4th season more than the 3d I think, because everyone just wanted to work for the team and got along quite well (well, except jazz ).. Both styles seems quite effective once achieved, because the Canes and the Bandits were equal in last season..

K0ng use my name if you are talking about me.
Don't give me that shit.
I posted that I could have predicted our forfeit after you posted you're problems
with finishing the park.
So how could that have infulenced you?
Stop repeating that all the time.
YOU wanted to finish this park on your own.
Burns posted several times that he wanted to help you, but you never gave
him the park. Yes you haven't passed it on because you thought there won't
be any close dialogue between you and him, but there would have been
your help.
Oh and about the dialogue.
Where was the dialogue between you and your team?
Well enough of the serious shit.
Congrats Hurricanes! Awesome and stunning park!
I haven't had the time to check it out in game, but I will sure do so.

Lets get on track guys and enough salt in the wounds for K0NG. Yes something fucked up but a little more respect is in order. The only people that should be annoyed are Robbie Dr Dirt and I. We wanted the best competition for tim and we're disapointed we havent got it. Lets not dwell upon this and just concentrate on the fantastic point we've given you a park that perhaps makes up from the negative outcome of this final match.

And, if you've read any of my posts regarding trainers and such, you'll know that I'm not real familiar with error trappers and the causes and fixes. I just don't run across them very often. At least none like this...that I have NO idea what is causing it. I know I was experimenting a bit with things that I'd never really put into a park before....just toyed around with in my spare time. But, I don't think I went in over my head with anything. There was nothing that I did that I wasn't fully confident in. I thoroughly went through all the rides and, since they were all functional and had made numerous circuits, I couldn't find anything that was causing it. Same thing with a 'phantom' entrance that suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the park. Fortunately, Gee was able to check the park and tell me what was causing it and how to remedy it. And, with the minimal amount of time remaining and being armed with the knowledge that we'd already used our extension, I probably did go a bit into panic mode. Also, if you haven't noticed.....I have a bit of an ego. I wasn't about to send in something that wasn't truly representative of the work I'd put into this park. It was discussed in our team forums and the vast majority of the team agreed with my decision. It's not like I didn't put every ounce of my being into trying to beat the team that traded me. It was more than just a matchup to me...it was personal and I know for a fact that I've never cared more about a contest or park since the day I first stuck my RCT2 disk into my computer.
And, I'm certainly not looking for sympathy from anyone. I'm just attempting to explain why there was no matchup for the Grand Final. Nothing more, nothing less.
And, as far as me saying " a little help could have made a huge difference", I was referring to a remedy for the ET. And, it wasn't my job to have 'dialogue' with the entire team, even though I did try to post encouragement in every rounds topics. I had massive amounts of 'dialogue' with Gee via IM while we were building Belmont. I tried to have the same kind of communication with Burnsy for the final round, it just didn't pan out for various reasons...none of them being that I wasn't available. I was (and usually am) on Yahoo at least 8-12 hours a day.
Anyway, that's all I have to say regarding this topic. Feel free to comment and rehash the issue to your hearts desires......I'm moving on. Spilled milk and everything.........

So who knows with those things... they creep up when you least expect them and can cause the most damage.
Fr3ak Offline
Maybe someone would have been able to fix it.
Oh and you can't post without offending someone, can you?
I am talking about the finals.
You could have at least posted some more screens to get feedback and show
your teammates that your building and that the park is going good.
That's what I means being in a team.

It really is an amazing park. The architecture throughout was of a very high quality and managed to mimic the styles from the various films you based it on. For example, I loved the wacky roofs in the N-B-Xmas section. The rides were also of a consistently high standard - the invert and the woodie were highlights for me (loved the enclosed tunnel on the woodie). Although as someone mentioned a while back, some of the ride names, while thoughtful and relevant, weren't very exciting or dramatic as names for signature coasters for example. The attention to detail was evident everywhere - robbie's post in the Little Things topic identifies several of the features that really bring the park to life. Other things that I noticed were the pumpkin patch by the invert and the statue of the girl who turns into a blueberry in Willy Wonka.
So overall, a fantastic park and totally worthy as the winner of the competition. Comiserations to the Whzzkids but I hope to see that park finished at some point too, sounds like it'll be quite something.

When you release a park in H2H, often times the focus is on the match up rather than the parks themselves. So rather than looking at the work you've done and commenting on that, it becomes a matter of dissecting which park is better and dismissing the other entirely. It's almost like the win records and the awards mean more to people than the actual parks sometimes. I can't tell you how many bullshit comments I've had to read by people who spent less than 20 seconds looking at a piece of work I spent 6 weeks on. Sure the trappings of the contest can make it a lot of fun, but let's not forget what's actually important here. Most of the people who see these parks and download them in the future aren't going to care about who won. There was nothing to be gained here by releasing an unfinished park which was going to lose anyway. The contest still would have been over, the Hurricanes still would have one. The only difference here is that now KONG gets to finish the park the way he wants to. Which means one more good RCT park to explore and get excited about. What's not to like about that?

BTW, the park was just great. The trakcs had a very well done design to all of them, the scenery was great in almost al locations, etc. If Burton designed a park, it could very well be similar to this. Now, how's about a small Alice in Wonderland mini-park to round the collection out?
