First Impressions: This is a really good project and has a very unique feel to it! I love the layout of the park. I think the macro is really solid. The music you chose adds a great atmosphere to the entire project. There is also some really great set pieces that catch the eye right away. There's also great details all over this park like the crashed boat in the water, the little beer tent area, and the chair lift stations. The architecture on these is really well done.

Landscaping/Foliage: I thought your foliage object choice were really solid. I love the vibrant greens all over this park. Landscaping was kind of a mixed bag for me. There land textures you used were great throughout the entire park. The rockwork and foliage was done well in some areas like this little mountain:

Then there were also other areas in which the rockwork and foliage seemed to be pretty rushed and not really cared for. For example this riverbed seems like its missing a lot of rock details, water details, and foliage.

Architecture: The architecture was also a bit of a mixed bag for me throughout this park also. Again, there were some areas that looked stunning and really well made like the customs boats, and the big glass enclosure. I also loved this little area by the water coaster.

Then there were also a lot of buildings that seemed pretty rushed through. I found that a lot of the half diagonal buildings fell into this category. I feel like at this point we have enough half diagonal objects available to us that we can almost do half diagonals just as good as we can do diagonals.

Rides and Theming: I loved the all of the moving animals and I appreciate that you took the time to name all of them. The rides that you included were also great. I'm not much of a layout guy but I thought the water coaster flowed well and the car ride was really nice. The chair lift was also great going right through the middle of the zoo and over top of the enclosures. I loved the amount of movement that you achieved in the enclosures themselves.

Overall: I really enjoyed this project! I rated it 80%.

Babar for God's sake, what a wonderful park. I've tried several times to create a zoo but I've never managed to do a decent park, it's not easy. I'm delighted, your talent speaks for itself. Every detail is incredibly well done, the colors are perfect, the buildings have an appropriate architecture, nice and very cool. The animals in motion are super nice. The curves and diagonals are very good, the atmosphere is perfect. In short, top quality work. :D :)

  • Description

In 1990, Bordeaux city council decided to build a zoo on a former industrial wasteland. 5 years later, Darwin Zoo opened its doors to the public. Given its popularity, the zoo has expanded over the years, including the opening of the biodome and its first hotel in 2015. In 2020, the park's cable car opened, together with the Lost Temple attraction. For its 30th birthday, the park opened a new extension with a Polynesian theme and welcomed its first pandas. The park has also temporarily closed the polar bear enclosure, which was becoming too old, and has longer-term plans to rebuild the first areas of the park currently corresponding to the southern part of the zoo. The zoo administration has also gradually closed all animal shows and decided to limit the flow of guests to avoid stressing the animals.

Do not feed the animals, do not put your hands through the fences and pick up your rubbish.

Darwin Zoo hopes you enjoy your visit!
