Description
A Japanese snowy mountain town created for the DKMP Mine Train Coaster contest that tied for 4th place.
This is Ginzan Onsen, a map that is heavily inspired by the town of the same name in Yamagata, Japan which is a popular winter tourist destination. All of the buildings are based on ones that can be found in the town in real life. The mine train is loosely inspired by Jet Coaster at Nagashima Spa Land as well as the town's local silver mining history.
I hope you will enjoy the snowy Japanese landscape and architecture. - 1 fan Fans of this park

This is really fun, I love that you went with a Jet Coaster - one of my favorite sorts of odd rides. The vibes are exceptional, nostalgic of my time in Japan and back home in the winter. Really great job and an excellent first impression.

Great atmosphere, and the coaster, with its layout and supports feels very accurate from the various jet coaster POVs I've seen. Architecture is really on point for the area from what' Ive seen. Really like how all the snow piles and such are done too.

This was really great, loved the theme and felt like the DKSO equivalent of something I built with FK last year (but a different season).
Overall I was moved more by the theme choice and the atmosphere than the ride itself so I gave it a healthy 70%. No more, no less.
Not that upping scores are for everyone, but incase you're wondering, more narrative, more custom rides, more of that beautiful architecture across the map and a supporting water ride would've been awesome (especially through that freezing water) and surely upped my score higher.
Can't wait to see more of your work my fellow Brit.

This was quite nice. Snow themes are quite rare. Combined with other themes, here Japanese, even rarer. Well done on tackling this. Sadly a huge divide between the little town and main ride. The town was very sweet. Fleshed out with lovely little details like the bathing peeps, people removing snow, architectural nuances. Also the aesthetic you found was quite interesting.
There were also very basic parts though however. Some walls, both of the buildings or terrain, were abruptly vertical and bland, and (literally) kind of made you run into them. The coaster itself was meant to be what it is, but by nature it's a rather boring ride. I liked the beginning, and how you combined it with mine train track. But otherwise it had very little features to make it interesting and engaging. The foliage around it was also rather basic and not setting itself above regular scenario play too much. I think you could definitely do more here.
For NE submissions of this type, I would advise to choose a more exciting, bigger coaster or main ride, one that just by its layout has more to offer. You can then theme it with any object set of your preference, make the main ride the focal point and dress it up, do something interesting artistically with colours and shapes, while maintaining general compositional standards of worldbuilding that avoid chaos and don't lose sight of viewer accessibility.

there are tons of little scenes here using frozen peeps and staff, and these impressed me a lot. it's the different between making a nice map, and one that feels real. the coaster honestly didn't do too much for me, but i appreciate the work you've put into a lot of the map, and it's an unorthodox theme that feels refreshing (no pun intended). looking forward to seeing what you make next!
