Description
This upload is long overdue. During the first Covid-lockdown this was the park that kept me from going insane. It was the first time I spend a considerable amount of time working on details and was sent in for RCC15 on the DKMP server where it got 2nd place (9.21 score).
Please see the readme for credit to other builders and parks. A lot is modified to my own taste and style to fit in the park as a whole. - 1 fan Fans of this park

Just gotta say I love the name Babylonian Cyclone, haha. Quite a nice layout too, considering the limitations. The real strength here was the archy, super nice stuff, maybe a little too compact but all things considered it still turned out really nice. Cool map!

When you told us in the Rivendell chat you were submitting something to NE, I wasn’t sure if it was a new or old project. Just about 2 days ago as of writing this review, I was re-watching the first RMC contest Deurklink held! Boy, am I glad to see this park grace NE.
Back in 2019, a youthful and curious Blue was getting into RCT again. I recall being thoroughly blown away upon seeing this entry for the first time, and it still holds up incredibly well to this day. Doing a proper RMC before we had the official track is tedious as nails. I’m not sure how many people will appreciate the old school methods of building an RMC, but I love what you created. Even with these track limitations, one thing that I miss from this era are the quick, cutback barrel-roll tricks like this:
You can’t build elements like this with standard track. Not without leveling out first, and then putting the zero G roll in the intended direction. That looks janky. This transition here looks perfectly natural. I miss seeing stuff like this.
Pacing is perhaps a tiny bit too slow, but it doesn’t look that different from an RMC running from a birds-eye view. Rosebowls aren’t a common thing on RMCs, but the interaction is pretty fantastic, so I think it was a good creative design choice. As it’s already been highlighted, that opening drop is unbelievably good.
The rest of the park has quite a bit to uncover, ranging from excellent architecture to perfectly idiomatic supporting rides. I like how you buried the splashdown track underwater for both Tigris and Euphrates. Gives it an opaque color hue, too.
Even though I didn’t join the DKMP contests until November of 2022, I have such a soft spot for the giants that paved the way for the new wave of dkso builders. Perhaps I am biased with my nostalgia glasses that I’m trying to take off at the moment, but Babylonian Cyclone is one of the iconic coasters of what I believe to be the “Golden Era” of DKMP. A stone cold classic in my book.

Really cool map with an interesting theme, and a very mystifying and intriguing palette to it. I love the density and overgrown nature of some parts of the map. The way the coaster is nestled in there is awesome. The first drop is also a really fun element. Great use of large objects, such as the colosseum, the pyramid, and the statue objects. The obelisk is probably my favorite part of the map.

as i said in the discord, that first drop and structure is so imposing, i love it. it really makes me want to make a coaster where there is a FEATURE, you know. either like a sick loop, or drop, or something, that is a signature to it. really cool.
the rest of the map is a really great too, lovely colors and textures throughout make a very distinctive atmosphere.

Great stuff. I remember seeing this when you first made it on DKMP and was it was quite memorable! Great theming. The layout is really solid, but struggles a bit with pacing on the last 1/3 or so. Either way, this is very immersive and you nailed the archy.

Fun park. The architecture may have borrowed from other places but the main coaster was fun to look at and the water coaster was well themed if basic. It was fun to watch and effectively used the objects available in a DKMP style.

lol - me too, I love the name Babylonian Cyclone. Quite a good layout too, of course, I understand the limitations of the old RCT objects, but they are very cool, I like them. I really liked the pyramid, the colors are nice.

This has a nice aesthetic and NCSO-crunch element to it. Nice to see well developed mini park in a classic style.
