Consider my park as a giant screenshot with peeps walking and sounds, nothing more nothing less.
It's also a tribute to a country I love: Mali
I've tried to create a realistic park, far from the usual clichés of Africa.
There is a small guide in broken English with the park!

Wow Babar! This is such a freakin cool project from head to toe. The attention to detail and depth is unbelievable and super admirable. The readme is just incredible. The whole page of just pots… what a giga slay right there alone, let alone a 9 page document!! It does a really great job of explaining the why behind each section, giving history and all that!
The river is done so well, i love the area of wet sand along the banks. The round edges are done great! I love seeing all types of landscaping and this is so wild! The animals all along side are cute af. The foliage looks so lush and great. The general dry sand land texture across the park is great, i love that shit. Ugh and the sounds make GREAT ambience
My favorite parts of the bottom are all the farms and the castle. I like how they’re explained in the readme. The irrigation cutout is so cool. The little circular farms when they’re in color and everything else in black and white was crazy. Ugh im such a farm girl and this is so farm good! The castle is done in such cool shapes. Great object use.
In the top section i love the one blue building, that's cool. The target is also funny! I dont care that there no rides, and i love that its just a scene, like a giant screenshot you said!! but just that one patch is missing a bit of motion while the rest of the peeps move just enough! The variety of angles feels really natural and well done. Its the future of rct here in this park. Wo babar what a slay little park, gonna be coming back to these angles and landscaping for ages!! Super congrats on this

This is quite accurate, haha, was thinking the same when viewing that a lot of this is quite static. Considering that you added a lot of interest without relying on movement which takes skill. Would have liked to see some more point of interest with movement or some types of attractions but I understand that's kind of outside the scope of what you wanted to do here. Kudos to the custom sounds and the travelers guide, both were great and really elevated this a lot for me.

The whole map is feels so natural and lived in, love the texture work, landscaping, rockwork and the subtle use of half-diagonals. Tons of crunch and micro-detailing and yet it all looks clean and readable at the same time, I'd say this doesn't even look like RCT and I mean that in the best way, it's like a hand built diorama in a museum or something.
I think the love of the area and research really shows here and it's a great tribute. Also, the sound design is great, really adds to the atmosphere.

Great stuff again Babar! I love the more macro-oriented style in this park from you. The rugged landscape, all the 'crunch', the color scheme, the ambience sounds, some nice sprays of architecture, the little river flowing through it all, the readme.. It makes for a very enjoyable atmosphere.
I hope you can keep up this awesome stream of parks. I think it's incredible how fast you are creating these very nice parks. Must be great being in this mindset like it doesn't cost effort and just be enjoying the creation process while building. Very inspirational stuff!

Another Babar park... it's amazing how you combine speed and quality. Most people have to chose between quantity and quality, you don't as it seems. Giant screenshot covers the park perfectly, as there are no rides present and the only movement comes from peeps. Bold move, but it works.
Color choices are spot on, it works so well together and it makes for a great viewing experience. The texturing of the landscaping was greatly done. With so many details, who needs coasters
Things I liked a lot:
- the round houses connected into one circle
- irrigation system
- the market and the houses and mosque around it
- the added nature sounds, great touch
I also think you used the Fisch rocks very well. The only thing I wasn't really a fan of was the color of the waterfall near the mosque. A truely nitpick complaint. Loved the map and looking forward to your next park!

I found it difficult to pick out some of the sounds until I removed all the peeps. Really enjoyed the natural ambient sounds in the distinct zones, and I think it works a little better with a much lower peep population. It would also be nice to be able to suppress all the game messages, since the whole map is really just about soaking up the atmosphere. I love how much variety and breadth you get out of a style we rarely see. I'm not quite sure how to grade it, I feel this would be a good rare candidate for the defunct Concept Creations.

Dang Babar.. loved it. Agree with Ling - this really shines when I removed the peeps and let all the ambient noise take over. I think this along with your Belle Epoque have great macro in relation to your other parks/submissions.
The atmosphere combined with the macro planning is phenomenal. Everything feels lived in and quite believable. Transports me out of rct and in to Mali. Being RCT, I want rides/coasters as always, but that didn't really detract from my viewing experience.
Thank you for making this and sharing this with all of us.

I had originally scored this slightly lower, but the more I thought about it, the less i felt i could realistically fault it. I would have loved 500 rides in there, but the quality was so through the roof that I didn't feel like that was criticism enough. the only other thing was the size - it is the perfect size for it to be consistent and top quality, and tell its own story in its own way.
I think this is going to be a defining release in contemporary rct

I agree with Sammy, this is definitely a defining map in recent RCT.
Feels like you took what I attempted with Ombezi and improved upon it 100x. I'm flattered by the similarities of course, but this is clearly its own thing - and executed incredibly well. I love the little farm scenes and riverbanks. I think my favorite building is the little blue/teal one near the center of the map. I don't mind the lack of rides. I don't think it needs them! Great call. Also the audio tracks are incredible and add so much to the atmosphere.
You're building things that I wish I had the time to build, and I love every single thing you're creating. I'll continue to live vicariously through your rct haha.
Absolutely incredible work on this - love you

Congrats on a well deserved gold! Loved the park. Really felt like a love letter to Afrika and RCT wise a further development of the texture and crunch revolution brought forward in Ombezi. Only found it a little too busy with peeps, their talking and movement did not help the tranquil atmosphere. But that was an easy fix.

This was a hard decision between 75% and 80% for me. I think I went for the latter because of what the map is in the context of the game. I think the quality that's there is 80% no doubt, but personally I needed a little extra. maybe (like g force said) a focal point or attraction. Doesn't need to be a ride necessarily, but something that ties the map together. I'm super excited to see more from you. I know you said that you're feeling a little burnt out and I want to say, definitely slow down if you need to. We don't want to lose you in this community if that means waiting a little while for more. <3

What astounds me most about you as a builder is not what you can create in a short period of time, but how much you grow as a builder with each new release. You're picking up techniques and ironing out obstacles at a rate that far exceeds that of the average NE builder (and the average builder here is pretty good in the grand scheme of RCT2)--most of us take many years to hone the skills necessary to bring our visions to life within this medium, but with your past couple releases and particularly Bawar Babi (don't think we didn't notice the name similarity), it is clear that your ability to translate what is in your mind into the Sawyer canvas is at a high level. Every time you release a new park, we see more of Babar the true artist.
I want to bring particular attention to the landscaping (big surprise coming from me, I know), as it has been the aspect of your parkmaking that has seen the most incredible transformation. Not even two years ago, I was advising you in DreamLand not to use so many square green grass blocks with right angles to make a hill. Now, I am looking at Bawar as a landscaping reference for my own work. Witnessing a newer builder grow to a point where they are teaching you new techniques is one of the best parts about this community that people don't talk about enough. In any case, this is some of my favorite desert landscaping ever, and that river is one I will be looking at for many years to come.
One aspect of your work that really does not receive enough praise is that it looks absolutely beautiful and coherent from every zoom angle. The colors and shapes work in such wonderful harmony, and it is a work of art even from the furthest zoom point. Very few builders have such a strong sense of both the macro and the micro side and are able to execute both at such a high level of precision, and you embrace both while also incorporating curves and shapes that don't adhere to the grid. All of these abilities, plus the care and devotion to your subject matter paired with the whimsical side of your personality, give your work a special quality that cannot be replicated by any other builder.
Now, how do you improve a map such as this one? It does not call for coasters or rides or really any moving parts, as your intention was to create a "giant screenshot" of an otherwise fairly static environment, so these additions would feel somewhat out of place. However, since there is a story underneath this map, I believe that you could have told even more of that story by scattering some frozen staff across the map. You've made an excellent guide to go with this map, and of course your detail work already tells us a great deal about life in this community... I believe you could use the staff technique to your advantage here to bring the interactive storytelling to an even higher level. I throw tons of these little guys around my own parks just to make myself laugh later... you might discover this same joy in your own process!
Speaking of RCT inducing laughter, Liam's head as a rock is simply brilliant. Please continue to allow your sense of humor to shine through each new masterpiece.

Finally had the chance to check this park out and what a great release Babar! This is right up my alley in terms of world/concept creation. Some things I want to point out:
> One of the biggest plusses is most definitely the ambience. I think this park really shows what a difference sound can make. I also love that specific sounds are only used in their designated areas, like the elephant sounds near the river scene and the more busy village noises in the market.
> As a rockwork connoisseur, I can't go on without complimenting the way you showed off the rocky terrain. The combination of the larger Fisch rocks stacked on top of each other works really well imo (and is something I will be using more frequently in the future lol) and the color gradient from the lighter rocks at the top to the darker colors at the bottom is lovely.
> I want to specifically highlight the following area, which is probably my favorite. The fishing scene at the bottom with all the scattered boats is great and the "crunch" around the building is awesome, just the perfect amount of grass trims and other objects. Also love that most of the wildlife is sitting on/around the riverbanks, really cute little detail.
I lol'ed at the Target. Clever details, lots to love and lots to take inspiration from. Can't wait to see what the future Babar has in store for us!

Sorry i havent commented yet, Babar. To be honest i dont think there is that much to say about this either, because most i see here is very close to perfection in my opinion. So far, you mostly were on everybodys radar because of your amazing building speed and your great and fun little details that show a lot of creativity. You`re showing these strong points of you here again with all the little scenes. What's perhaps a bit new is that you're also showing some amazing landscaping skills here. The sand and the rocks, the foliage, everything works together perfectly. I may agree with Jappy that parts of this might feel a bit too busy, but all in all with all the dedication you put into this (also looking at the readme etc.) a well deserved 80%+ gold. Very good job, as always!

This heavily textured/saturated parkmaking is not my cup of tea, but certainly a very solid little park!

I owe this park a review.
I really do love parks that aim to re-create a real-life (or semi-real life) place. That is why Grand Tour is one of my favorite contests. This park certainly fits that bill. I also appreciate how you aimed to build a realistic park set in Africa - it was a real breath of fresh air. This park just oozes atmosphere without featuring any rides, which is a true accomplishment.
Some of my favorite areas were the buildings around the central tree and market, as well as the river. The river reminded me of the one in Rajasthan, which is a good thing! The rocks were also well-done and very fresh-looking. They remind me somewhat of the ones in The Holy Texican Empire. Great work and very well-deserved score!
