Damn, I can't download the Elementalist's park, but it looks impressive.
Only criticism I have from the overview is I think there should have been more variation with the accent colors, other then the pink.
Overall it seems like something you need to explore to truly appreciate, so unfortunately I won't be able to.
I'm really interested to see which direction this match goes though, should be interesting.
Ah, the classic RCT vs RCT2 match-up. Boy, this is going to be very intersting, especially since both have very different themes. My biggest complaint in the Elementalists' park is the overall tone of GRAY. Other than the occasional pink and green, not much variation (although that alien area looks FREAKIN sweet). As for the Minutemen's, supports on both the flyer and family look dinky to me. But that's really a minor complaint. Overall, both parks look good, and I wish you both the best of luck...
Elementalists - Cool park, I loved the warrior spaceship and the crashed monorail hacks were amazing. Only the atmosphere was really sterile and just not my cup of tea. You should get some kinda codex award tho, that stuff was great. Oh and where were the rides? 7.7/10
Minutemen - You had what Gamma did not, awesome rides and a wonderful atmosphere in the whole park. The coasters were both great and you had very nive details like the docks and rice patties. I think you'll finally get a win here, you got my vote. Oh and props for putting me in the park and @ K0NG 8.4/10
Well, in the end I voted for Minutemen and here's why:
Assualt on Earth Base Gamma Gamma (2287): While I like the idea and the hacks are great I was REALLY missing a coaster.. I get you guys don't mind what the community thinks, and build whatever you like, but it really misses some long-term action.. Now I was finding myself opening the park, looking at some of the (awesome) hacks and ideas you guys put in, and then got bored and quit.. It was just missing some of the action and atmosphere the Minutemen park had..
Red River Delta: Now this is really my style.. The work of a parkmaker that was obviously attached to the park never ceased to amaze me and this was no exception.. I loved everything in there, from the rice fields (having been to Indonesia it brings back fond memories) to the woodie and the architecture.. It oozes atmosphere and although the invert misses some custom supporting (though i don't get why the custom supporting is a must-have for a rct2 park as LL parks can get away with it) I was finding myself looking over it all again and again.. Awesome job everyone that worked on this park, you got my vote!
The coasters were top notch. Woodie coaster is amazing, not as good as Magnus' R3 but still a contender for Best Woodie, the flow and pacing were spot on. I would love to ride that. The flyer wasnt as good as the Woodie but still was nice and interacted with the landscape well. The foliage was superb. Really well done as was the landscape. But what bought it down for me was the architecture. The structures and forms were interesting, in a good way, but the textures for me were too much. It just seemed too random and to me clashed. The use of shops as architecture also kind of bought it down for me, it almost seemed as if it was too much hard work to re-create the style of them with scenery, so you placed the shop there instead. But yeah, I just felt the architecture was a mess and I probably will get flamed for saying it but meh, it ruined the park for me.

This whole park was fantastic. The idea, the concept, the execution, I loved it all. I don't think there was a single part of the park that I disliked. The massive structures were awesome, as were the little things dotted about like the Anti Gravity Testing. Such a simple idea but I just found it mind-blowing. Again, the elevators, completely simple, but such a nice touch and executed brilliantly. The monorail was fantastic, you could have just left the monorail track broken but you didnt, you made it 'just like in the movies'. I love this sort of stuff in LL, it's something that seems to be completely missed in RCT2. Fantastic stuff. And got my vote.
minutemen- very well thought out park. you definitely did your research. however, I thought there was not nearly enough buildings and what buildings were there were not executed very well at all. the rides were nice, but the park didn't have any real flow and just didn't work for me.
elementalists- pretty cool. i especially like how no readme is needed for the story to make sense. the buildings were very well done. also, there were some cool hacks, like the reinforcement monorail supports and the warrior ship

you guys should download this park purely to go through all the names of the stuff they couldnt be arsed naming properly. especially on the alien shnume spaceship.

I'm surprised that people don't like the MM's archy. Personally, I adore it. It's not the uber-detailing of today's parks, but it's atmospheric, pretty, and almost nostalgic. I really, really like what I see...
wow, very hard to decide again. i had a great time in both parks. in the end, i voted for elementalists though, simply because the amount of story and hacking used in a totally new dimension really impressed me.
Voted Elementalists and I had some trouble with vote codes this time :' /> and I'm tired and cranky right now....went to Memorial tournament today (fun but tiring)...so I'll post later as to why I chose the LL park.
well it was a good season but i have to be honest i figured this would be the result as soon as i saw it was a ll park. not to say their park was not impressive but truly it is forgettable especially given that for a game that is all about motion this park was little more than a static model.
I kind of agree with Chapelz here. LL has become something of such high regard around here. Not too many people play it regularly anymore, and those who do struggle to keep it alive by finding new ways to wow the community, which is great. However, I feel like as the game becomes more nostalgic, more people fall into the fad of "woah, it's LL! It took so much effort to make!" In my opinion, the reason parks like Siege at Castle Grijs and Kitabasaki Dragonland lost in H2H4 were because they were being judged on the same level as the RCT2 parks they were put up against. Now, I feel like not as many people are around who understand LL, and are thus more inclined to vote for an LL park because it's the harder game to work with, and really is not capable of some things that RCT2 builders take for granted.
That being said, I lost my LL disc recently and cannot view the Elementalist's park, but it does look very interesting and well-crafted. However, I did think the Minutemen's park was a lot of fun and showed a lot of thought and creativity--the same thought and creativity that went into the LL park. But the RCT2 park more than likely won't be as acclaimed for its ideas because they were easier to execute.
Either way, two nice parks. This is my favorite so far for the Minutemen. Elementalist parks looks to be great as well. Too bad I can't view it.

The coasters, while not mind-bending, were definitely adequate and as a whole, this was the better park of this matchup.
Elementalists: " WAR...huh, good God ya...what is it good for...absolutely NOTHIN". Second war themed park in 4 rounds, along with a "heaven/hell" theme and a biblical park. Pretty intense shit for a game that revolves around "amusement parks". Anyway...I liked this much better from the overview than when I actually explored it in-game. There were, as expected, some great hacks and the crashed monorail was fucking brilliant. Except for the lack of where it would have gone had it not crashed. Thing that lost me most was the fact that, as has been mentioned....there were no coasters. In a game called "RollerCoaster Tycoon", I kind of expect at least ONE roller coaster. I realize you guys have your 'artistic visions' and all that and that there probably wasn't much opportunity to put a coaster into this setting, but......try to remember what this game is really about. Also....I think that this "theme" would have been SO much better done in RCT2 than as an LL park.
Of course, that's just my opinion....I could be wrong.

I agree on the uber-detailing. It's not, which makes it refreshing. I liked that element about it, but pretty and nostalgic? All I saw was a great jumble of textures which gave a feeling of complete mess which for me ruined the park. But each to their own I spose.

I don't think it's like that at all. Remember that this site where you are participating in this contest is called "New Element". Nothing about Roller coasters. One might expect some sort of "new elements" released in every park here. Obviously this is the case as seen by the adoration of atmosphere over originality in this contest (which I'm not necessarily condemning in all cases). And if you believe that everything released here doesn't needs a new idea to be a valid work, which is reasonable enough, it might make sense that you would agree that not every release needs a roller coaster to be a valid work. My point being, the name of an outlet of creativity should not be the limits of its use. Who are you to tell people what this game is about anyway?

and you can say that LL is winning it for us but the fact that posix and becky voted for us is pretty shocking imo... as they consistantly lean towards the more realistic side. Why is this exactly? Who the hell knows? I personally look forward to a detailed review from becky and anyone else who votes (thanks for those who have given one btw) because I can't really find a tipping point

Why? Because it was being judged based on overviews and a lot fewer people bothered to open both parks. Imo that's not a more proper or more "fair" voting system for H2H no matter how you try to spin it in hindsight. But yeah, there probably is an advantage now... at the very least it blueballs the other park with a lower amount of votes available and jacks down percentages.

and my personal opinion is that, as with most of this h2h, this is a tough match... both parks could be better but are pretty damn good as they stand. I hate to see that one has to "lose" and one has to "win" in this situation as I'm sure if they were released seperately they would both be considered awesome in their own right
The inclusion of coasters in parks is a bonus. It makes building parks more fun. If you're OCD like I am, it also helps you plot out where theming is going to go. But nothing written anywhere says you have to stay faithful to centering the park on coasters. If you want to create an Egyptian theme, you're not doing the quality of creation any service by putting a B&M in it. In fact you're pretty much shitting on it - the sun god Ra wasn't a fucking stand-up coaster on rails. But it's enjoyable in the RCT sense, and if we didn't appreciate that, we'd be using something else as a creative medium. (We're only here instead of other people because we're the crazy ones that do appreciate that.) But there is absolutely no necessity for coasters in parks. Take a look at The Three Villages by Natelox if you're under the impression that an RCT park would suffer without coasters. They're just a fun thing to put in.
