Looking back after a couple years, I disagree with myself back then, too. Although I still feel as though the graveyard might not have been done seriously/solemnly enough and thus might have been a tad inappropriate, overall I can't say the "Art of War" theme itself was inappropriate.
I have always been a huge military history fan, and I do play shooters and watch war movies and stuff, but a large part of why I do those things is to learn about history and to "experience" the intensity of war. I disagree that games like Call of Duty celebrate war, especially when they include things like nuclear blasts or wiping out the populations of entire European cities--I believe the creators are instigating a "shock and awe" moment to make you love their game and to make you realize that they aren't taking this lightly. They clearly disagree with what happens (hence why you are always attempting to stop the war, etc).
Anyway, tangent over. Point is, while I disagree with the one statement that shooters often celebrate war for many reasons, I also disagree with my past self in that Art of War is a theme that should not have been done. I would argue the same thing I argued above for shooters for your park--it's not celebrating war, rather educating people about it and paying tribute. Like I said, there were a couple small details that I still think might have been better left out or done a bit differently, but it's hard sometimes so I understand. Sorry for instigating so much controversy back then, especially when it wasn't really deserved. Great park guys.
