Sent this in a long time ago, Kumba asked for more to be filled in he said it was good enough qualitly but not enough quantity. I started doing more to it but now havent touched it for over a month and dont feel like carrying it on after i had finished what i planned.

The only real complaints I had other than it needing more foliage were there to be a more defined, or better defined atmosphere as well as the only archy problem I had, which is the building on the right in that picture - for some reason, the gray seems to "pop" (if gray CAN "pop") too much for that stonework wall, but maybe that's me.

Yeah, agreed on the foliage... but otherwise, I thought this was REALLY good. This may sound stupid, but I loved it because the coaster really was the star of the show... In a few designs I've seen on here, such as the recent Beowulf, I feel that the architecture for example has made it Design-worthy. In this design, the architecture isn't the centrepiece, though it's certainly nice and effective - but it's all about the coaster. I thought the layout was brilliant. It looked like a great coaster to ride. A Batman-esque first drop, and then a triple whammy of inversions, and ending with some intense high-speed helixes. Reminded me of Nemesis, if it had been themed to vampires.

I liked the layout a lot but everything else wasn't refined enough for me. The archy, the foliage, the supports, etc.

Well if you liked the coaster thats all im bothered about, i dont/didn't make if for pretty buildings, just a nice layout!

    Thanks for the comments

Sick layout. This should have been a design.

I really liked it. Nice Layout! I could imagine myself sitting in there and it is fun!
The archy was not bad at all guys. It doesn't have to be always overdetailed blocks you know. This architecture was nice and served its purpose.

I think that the layout was pretty nice, and the pacing was a good aspect aswell, but the architecture kinda lacked, I mean, I think that more buildings here and there would've been better. It's a shame you didn't get design, because I liked the layout...next time, you should work a little bit more on the archy and foliage (which also lacked in some parts). Good luck for next time!

Layout wise it had design in the bag, but the rest just seemed uninspired. But I did not enjoy passing on it, just a designs these days needs better support (theme wise) around it.

Just wondering since I'm kind of new here...
Is Kumba the only person that decides if it is worthy of a design?

Because from what I have seen it is seeming unlikely that I will ever get a design here because I don't go over the top with stupid detailing that would never ever be in a real park.

Unfortunately it seems like thats what its coming to. Weve had 3 recently rejected designs that had layouts better than just about any of the existing designs....but they were rejected due to being too small, too "uninspired", not "marvelous" enough, etc. It seems like its reaching the point where a design depends upon overzealous archy and fantastical landscaping and scenery rather than the coaster itself.

Comet I like your work, just Cork just went to Italy, so im kinda on my own... I think I'll need to get help judging designs or something coz I want to do the right thing.

Have a small group of active parkmakers vote for each entry, requiring a 2/3rds majority for it to become a design. Id say maybe take 6 guys like JKay, GeeWhzzz, yourself, Emergo, Corky, and RCTNW (Just throwing out some possibilities, it would be best if you have a variety of styles represented), and just have each person say wether they think its design worthy or not. This will give the vote much more credibility, and it would make it MUCH harder for people to complain about not making design or say "this isnt fair", etc.

    Just my 2 cents.

Personally I appreciate how open Kumba is being about how he runs and judges things, so that people can critique him and give advice, etc. Iris and Cork seemed to explain their thinking only after the fact and in retrospect. NE is possibly the most democratic it's ever been right now.

I honestly think that eman hit everything on the head perfectly. I can not state it any better.

Just because Kumba is the judge of Designs etc. doesn't mean you have to built in ridiculous detail etc. Kumba doesn't only like a certain style of work. I don't built in uber-detail style, but I'm pretty sure I could get a design if i put my mind to it.

With that said, I can understand why this didn't get design, but it was good. Nice one Richie

I actually like how there isn't much foliage. Gives it a much more realistic feel. One of the better designs I've seen around here
