EverQuest: Waters of the Past by Prince_Ashitaka
The first time I've ever released one Runner-Up by itself, really solidifying itself as a "mega runner-up". Although Prince has hit the Runner-Up position several times in the past, never have his parks been even close to as amazing as Waters of the Past. Definitely his crowning achievement as a Parkmaker, as Prince proves me to be a genius after making him a Parkmaker. Finally expanding past his common themes and slightly dull architecture, Prince grasps the concept of imaginative theming and goes wild, with four completely contrasting themed areas, all with cool stories behind each, and all with incredible skill. Also a much better coaster collection in this park, (although the park includes one of my least favorite all-time coasters), yet its made up for it by a simple, yet brilliant shuttle by A-K. Lots of cool extras in this park make it fun to look at for hours, and Corkscrewed will be the first to argue that Waters of the Past should have been a NE Spotlight. I've made my decision, so what's your call?

be........
spotlight......
Upgrade now.
This is an amazing park. I'm actually very surprised that this isn't spotilght material. I suppose it eventually will be after the NE awards...but oh well. Its incredible. Your theming has improved SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much since Haunted Lake, or even since Mystic Realms. Its scary. The floorless invisible barrel loop happens to be only invisible from really only one side, which turns out to be just a shitty clearance hack. Still a good idea though.
My FAVORITE area is the blue area...(don't know the name, I didn't pay enough attention..I had gotten the earlier version of this and wanted to know what was different)...with the awesome invert, I love the vertical spike idea. Freak's adventure ride turns out to be not that bad actually...great theming. The giga is umm...really high, and it has a nice, twisted layout. Kudos to Prince on that also..
Archy is much better and more elaborate. You've improved so much, I think I'm going to cry. What a great park.
Must be spotlight.

Anyways, every time you sent me an update on this park, I told you it was awesome. It really should have earned you spotlight, and I must say that it completely outdoes (no offense) DFK. I liked the park a lot, although you know I hated that huge coaster thing. But all in all, aside from your naming problems (Fishina? lol), you've grown in your skills and most certainly deserve your parkmaking spot.

I absolutely loved the area with the Water coaster and Hydra, the eggs were a really cool idea.
Where you smacked up when you made those supports to Amaryth (whatever the fuck its called) ?? I think this ride ruined the area, as the ride and supports weren't very good at all.
The adventure ride, Beemer (loved the invisible barrel roll) and the woodie were also nicely done..
Good job but not a scrape on DFK to be honest.

I think the best thing about this park is that it is four sections, BUT NO LAKE IN THE MIDDLE! Thank you for showing us that 'four corner' parks (If you could call it a four corner) can have different layouts.
I think Iris has underrated this park. Wonderful job.

Basically, the best complaint you can make is that it went under Raindrop Riviera.
So yeah.

*rest of post later, got to go out*
Well, the water coaster is really cool too - but I think it's a shame the water drop was hidden out of the way like that.
Aramyth has some really nice architecture and the Maze is really cool, but that giga is a disaster. It spoils the area completely - the second part of the layout isn't that bad - some nice building/coaster interaction - but the first drop+twist and supports are just dreadful. Lazy, I think is the appropriate word.
The lava area was pretty cool. I liked the theming and the window-hacks were used well. Freak's adventure ride was a welcome break from the brown he usually uses - and I liked the wooden track/inverted track additions.
Overall, a really nice park but I still rate it below RR and DFK. I think there were some basic problems: Inconsistent windows, crap naming (I agree...Fishina?? cool coaster, crap name), laziness in coasters.
Apart from that you're onto something good - the Prince style is recognisable (good thing) and your buildings are really great (when they have windows etc). If you produce a whole park of the calibre of the entrance+siminia then you'll be onto a spotlight IMO.
Well Done, Prince - bad luck in the spotlight stakes so far, but your parks are always great to look at and learn from.
