Luketh presents to the People of New Element:
Jagged Rock Thrill Preserve, which won fourth or fifth in the NCSO contest on the RC&F discord in May, behind some of you other NE folks. Good contest.
Peruse several scenic vistas on a long hike lakeside and up Mount Adrenaline, or even more challenging -- the Razor's Edge, a towering vertical precipice that can also be launched over on Blue Ridge Breeze Chariot, a thrilling realization of a compressed air-launched roller coaster. Extra long trains provide for a varied ride experience, but there's no escaping the airtime, both on the powerful launch and all the terrain thereafter.
Across the lake, Yosef Mountaineer is the finest wooden roller coaster I've designed to date, named after my alma mater's mascot. On my visits to the park, I sit and eat a Chicago-style hot dog midway through the trail and watch the train go tearing around the bends before and after the second lift hill. Did I mention the water-powered brake run?
Someday I might revisit to make a special edition of this park with more rides, as was my original intent and cause for the delay in submitting this to New Element. The park stands alone well, but I would have liked to execute this concept without the contests restrictions (2 coasters, 2 flatrides, 1 transport ride). I had other ideas for rides that couldn't be added, like a haunted house in the woods and a log flume.
For now, here's the park as it was submitted to the contest. There are a lot of small details in and around this nature preserve-turned-amusement park, so I hope you enjoy exploring.

I could swear I've seen this before, but I think that contest was before my time on RC&F. I'm not crazy about the 21-car S&S train. The woodie is neat, if a little unusual. The different parts of the park don't feel super well-connected. I do really like the stations for Yosef's Mountaineer and the chairlift.

The coasters here are great, really push a unique identify for the park with the long trains and terrain integration. Both were almost iconic in a way. Nice work.

Awesome! Ride design, foliage and landscaping were absolutely ace! I loved the hiking trails and the impressive cliffs.

That long train in 60fps was hypnotic to watch. Nice work this, amazing wooden. Gave me a bit more of an RCT vibe than all the realistic parks which was nice. At times a bit too wild and aesthetically weak, but with obvious potential. Hope to see more from you.

I liked this a lot. Both coasters were the real highlights for me- interesting layouts (if a bit drawn out in places) and well built into their landscapes. Both stations were super cool, especially the wooden with the long flat queue cover, broken up by the 1x1 rooves. Just lovely composition. But the s&s roof was still pretty "epic" feeling. The supporting rides were fine, but there was some nice landscaping to back it up, particularly inside the woodie's turnaround and with those goliath letters. Cool stuff with a lot of creativity. Try something that isn't ncso!!

Some questionable choices in the landscaping, and a lack of a little more stimulating architecture and/or theming, but because of the strong coasters I think a low bronze would be a good fit for this park. I already said the woodie is dope, but Blue Ridge Breeze Chariot was also great. Loving the double down into the loop, that's dope. I'd like to mention that there was more stuff that I liked outside the coasters, mostly the many single wide trails with little hidden places. Would like to see a larger map like this, but without the ncso ugliness and awkward rockwork.

Thank you good people for your thoughts, votes and downloads. Your words are much appreciated, as is the time it took you to check out the park and type about it.
Y'all picked up that the coasters are the main focus of this particular build. In fact, my planning process was otherwise nonexistent here. I spent at least three game decades laying out two ridiculous coasters on opposite sides of a central lake, and the concept grew from there into what you see.
This is a concept I may someday revisit on a wider, more carefully planned scale, with many more wild rides. That's what the game is all about to me, the roller coasters. I'm less interested in hardcore realism and intense detailing.
That said, I'll be sticking with NCSO for now, because I already build so slowly as is, and any more freedom of choice would be too much of a chore for me -- sorry Cocoa. I've done CSO in the past, and won't rule it out entirely, but there's more NCSO in the works.
Now if only I could get one more panelist vote!
