When I mentioned in the best up-and-comming non-NE Parkmaker in this topic, a few of you wondered who I was talking about and if he had any parks to showcase. So, with his permission, I present to you, Thermalos.

Just to give you an idea of the age of this park, it was made around the time of 'The Westcoast' by myself. Sorry, no screens but the park is RCTLL.

can someone that has RCTLL open the park and post screens? i'd like to see what this looks like

    Thanks, Natelox.

This park was released at roughly the same time as The Westcoast(late 2001) as nate mentioned. It actually beat TheWestcoast in the member-voted section of the Thrillnetwork Premier Parks contest (despite being an inferior park). Natelox, Elrocko and I used to chat about RCT and such all the time back then, and the park was "tested" by both of them.

It's themed to a big magical city, and the coasters are all supposed to be magical "beasts" that protcted it...or something.

I think it's a pretty decent park, despite the pathways and, to a lesser extent, the flat land.

If I remember correctly this park made "The List" at around number 89 or so.

I really like this. The Watercoaster was awesome, and I loved "Wyveren". All the coaster IMO were excellent, expect for maybe Flight Of The Valkaryie, which I din't really care for. The only thing I didn't like was that "feast hall" or whatever. Just seemed really like a big block with no purpose. But nice park!

Takes me back to the old TN days.......

I remember really loving this park when it was released. Although it is a bit outdated IMO, it sure was an amazing feat for the time. We can only imagine where you might be now, Kraken, had you kept building. I think I might have had some crap entered at the time. Had no chance against this though, as you can imagine.

One thing though....... I could have sworn The Westcoast won that months TNPP..... or that it and Thermalos tied or something. I know it was a close vote at least.

    Outdated? Oh you bet.

Anyway, Im back in now. My next park is gonna be done really soon. It's one that I started over 2 years ago, and I finished it using the same "old-school" style. The Premier Park vote was pretty close if I remember correctly. It probably was more of a popularity contest; The Westcoast is superior in basically evert facet.

Anyway, thanks for all the comments folks. Stay tuned for Lunatic Gardens if you liked this park at all.

EDIT: Here is the TNPP thread.

Nate won staff, I won member voting, each by one vote. Monte Vista is also in there too. Seems like a pretty weak contest looking back.

I finally remembered about this, and checked it out...

It's much bigger than I remember it... and it was pretty good for its time. The coasters, however, are mostly top-notch, even by today's standards. There was some beautiful theming in there (ha- that opening carousel is still so cool to me)... a pretty nice atmosphere throughout.

Now, I can't wait to see what you've been working on lately...

As of now, I have one completed park I'm going to release soon, and a "collaboration" between myself and another RCTer, which is about 55-60% done.

I finally took a look at this park and really enjoyed it. It does look a bit outdated, but that doesn't stop it from being cool. The coasters were uberfast, especially the invert. That's how I like 'em! I wasn't too keen on the flat ride theming, but the bit on the water coaster where the spiral was boxed in was pretty cool.

It'll be interesting to see your new stuff, too, as you made it sound pretty old-school as well. And that collaboration sounds intriguing!

It's cool but the architecture could use lots of improvement. It reminds of of Lake Texcoco more than anything else. yay.

    Great Invert BTW.
Good luck with your future parks.

Wow, really nice park Kraken. I can't wait to see this new project.

As ordered, I looked. If I had looked at this when it was first released, I would have been floored, but as it is now...well you know. What I really liked was the use of lines in the architecture (hopefully you understand what I mean, cuz I'm not going to try to explain myself). I really look forward to seeing how you translate yourself into a more up to date style of parkmaking. I think the results could be unique and terrific.

Thanks for all the great comments.

Anyway Toon, you'll probably have to wait a bit if you want something newer...my next park(I'm releasing it here as soon as I can get it hosted) was started in 2002, and completed this month-in the same "old school" style. It has some "modern" rides and elements, but mostly it's still going to seem dated (though intentionally so).

My collaboration is another old park that I'm finishing up. However, it will probably seem a bit more modern.

Maybe something shiny and new with after that :D

I could host it for you.

Not like I own a domain, but I have space.
