But then what kind of ruins it for me too is all that custom scenery. Because the boat ride doesn't really do much (well from following the track it doesn't anyway -- unfortunately it doesn't work for me either), and the mine train is kindof boring except for the little rock tunnel portions, but those aren't anything new anymore. The station is very well done, as are most of the buildings, but the more I look at it the more I want to stay away from RCT2 all together. Because it's pretty clear to me from this park (and just H2H4 in general) that RCT2 parkmaking has just become an exercise in assembling little scenery bits together. You've created something beautiful here, no doubt about that, but is that really all this is about? Pick a ride, lay down some paths, and bury it under a mountain of custom scenery. Because if that's all it is, I feel like more of the credit should go to the people making the scenery than the people making the parks. I can't even make a new scenario anymore because the list of custom objects is so long that the game won't let me scroll through it anymore. And every time I go back to look at a park I haven't looked at in more than a month, the game has to reload all the scenery again. I can't help feeling like the art of making a really good park has gotten lost in all of that. You don't need good rides anymore, you don't need good ideas, all you need to do is stack enough shit on top of itself until it looks good. And that is a skill, I don't doubt that, but it's not RCT anymore to me. It's something else.
I guess I think of it like Legos -- the fun of building things out of Legos is that you have to figure out how to make what you want with a limited selection of pieces. If you can just make your own pieces every time you want to make something new, than what's the point?

The theming you developed was great. The architecture was also pretty nice, because you made good structures, you used objects which fit with the theme you were carring out, and the colors you used for the buildings created a pleasant atmosphere, so, the acrhy aspect was cool. The foliage was also well done, it didn't look too odd and messy, but it didn't look boring and lifeless, it was ok, and it had nice colors.
What I also really liked about this park, was the details; it was just amazing to see a lot of little things that may have not been very ímpressive, but they were a good addition to the park. The coaster was also ok, it had a nice layout and looked entertaining. The landscape was a good aspect, I liked the little waterfalls.
I think this park is the best of the week.
You made a great job! Well done Turtle and RCTFAN.

By forfieting, The Stallions reserve the right NOT to post the park so it can be saved for future match ups. To me, thats much better than posting a half-assed park.
Although I would have loved a tough match this week, I can understand Panic's position. We agreed this was the best thing to do, especially with their playoff hopes dwindling.
I still need to look at our park in-game. That should happen tonight though.
The undefeated saga continues....
I have yet to be disappointed as a H2H Captain this year.
Someone can beat us, I just know it

I agree with Artist and Coaster Ed on this. The point of rollercoaster tycoon is to build rollercoasters, and a lot of people forget that (I'm guilty myself). This park is a perfect example. Ok, it's got a rollercoaster. But instead of putting more rides in and making it more like how the game is supposed to be played, they built a load of pointless buildings. Yeah, they may house a few shops, but you could build one or two buildings and still fit all of the shops inside really, and then, with the remaining space, you can fit in more rides, more rollercoasters, and I personally find watching rollercoasters more interesting than watching buildings.
And if someones says "Oh, but you can't have lots of good rides or rollercoasters in a park and still have lots of good scenary" then I think they need to look at a Phatage park. He still uses lots of scenary, but still manages to fit a good 5-10 rides in a 70x70 park. How many does this park have? (That actually work) One. Or thats how many I counted. One. A mine train that doesn't even take up a quater of the map...

Because they are not natural looking rct pieces of scenery, they are worthless tacky pieces of scenery that spoil any beauty that Turtle's and RCTfan's park could of had and the same goes with any other park. I mean put scenery like that in a park like RoB and what have you got? A park totally spoilt.
Also boat they used is probably one of the most stupid things i have ever seen, i mean the rct boats are perfectly fine and look awesome too.

And i guarentee if Toon had have made those scenery pieces, everyone would be using them. I think they can add a lot of new detail to a park, I'm using them a lot in my solo now... and my solo is not ugly, you know that chris! =P

The park was great, id give it like a 8.2 of 10.0.
The Good - I loved how the buildings were made, peice by peice in most cases, that takes a lot of work but pays of in extra micro details. That custom flat is the best flat ride I have seen in a long time, the 2 rooms for the Q lines were pulled of extremly well, the only problem is that the ride is un-named (well in-game). The mine train and it's theming were awesome, I love the station pass through. The river ride was alright, that part with all the fountains was great.
The Bad - The rest of the river ride was just sorta dull, id have got pretty board sitting on it just waiting for the drop. The parks atmospher (jungle or not) was just way to dull and hurt badly by those shitty flowers that look taken from the sims. On that note the extent of the custom stuff was just overwellming, from the un-need custom AE ride, the whole set of dull blocks, to the countless extra files added with the park, this was the most annoying file ever not made by Meretrix.
So I loved and hated the park in a way, but it's still gona be my pick for park of the week

As do I...
I see where Ed is coming from and admittedly I barley glanced at the park because it didn't do anything to keep me interested. Then again that's about all I do with most parks now... Watch each coaster run once or twice then spend *maybe* 10-15 minutes poking around for details. If I don't find something really "tasty" in that time I stop looking, if I do then I keep going for another 10-15... See?
Anyway I'll have to give it a 2nd glace to really give a solid opinion, but the first impression was good.

Now that doesn't make sense to me Panic. Why did you not submit a park if you thought you could "squeak out a close victory"?

But as far as the architecture goes it was all abit samey, good in parts but dull all round. The mine train had a good bit where it went through a tunnel in the mountain.
Overall not bad, just agreed that custom scenery ruined parts.

Anyway I think the best point of Kukuana is definitely atmosphere. The semi enclosed feeling with the landscaping boosted that, I thought.
