i think the high detail hurts in this case.
some of the looks are well done but overall your style is too undecided (you're stuck in semi-realism) for me to really catch my interest.
Lovely architecture throughout. It was well varied and had a really high level of detail. You integrated the rides and scenery well together. The one coaster, I think is what brought it down. Inversion variation is crucial. You had 4 corkscrews and nothing else which really brings it down in the realism category. I think you could've done a lot more with that. But besides the coaster, everything was looking very nice.
Don't suppose you want to come back to Fury or anything...
This park was awesome, and aside from the coaster I couldn't find any flaws. Great architecture, great foliage, great park layout.
I think the coaster layout you used would be more suitable for a flying roller coaster. I know people don't tend to use them as much and that's because they're more difficult to make. But for the way you made this park, a flying coaster could have fit in very well.
Okay, personally I liked it in some respects and not so much on others. The coaster for example, was aweful. All four inversions are corkscrews!!! The architecture and theminig is quite pleasent but the fact that there were cyciad (sp?) bushes everywhere hurt things.
Basically this park shows that you have down many of the basics (theming, architecture, landscaping) but it also shows that you still have many weaknesses (coasters, general lack of rides, treeing). Oh and all parks should have music as it just makes them so many times more wonderful in the atmosphere department.
He means that rct is (to him) not a tool to create worlds outside of the rules and restrictions of reality but rather a place to build parks that could physically exisist and look beautiful without the gimikyness of so called "creativity". Or that's what I think he means...
I don't think we need to be so black and white about parkmaking styles Posix. There's a wide gray area between fantasy and realism and I don't think it's any shame to inhabit that region. A parkmaker doesn't have to choose one or the other. What you define as semi-realism I call idealism, and although you are right that RCT is at heart an amusement park-making game, idealism can be a refreshing step into a happy medium between imagination and fact.
I only just discovered this park, from some miniaturized screenshots in the Internet Archive. CP6 happened to have the savegame still, so now it's in the NE database!
I think this is great. PBJ is underrated/overlooked.
yeah its pretty interesting. On the verge of being great but held back in some ways. I think the ride design is a bit lacking and everything gets washed out and hard to follow. the archy is well-made for the time period but sort of overwhelms the rest of the park and paths and it turns into a bit of a mess. But, it still has atmosphere and charm, and the coaster has some nice elements too, even if I can't follow it easily
