After 4 votes by the judges, the winner, by a score of 4 to 0, is... Evil WME
Evil WME advances to round three where he will face Woofenskid or Pineapple.
OLE's writeup After showing some really nice work in Round 1, WME shows us all why he's so dangerous with his fantastic Round 2 entry, Caldwell's Sultana Gold Mine (1899). In easily the most elaborate micro we've seen so far as WME packs in a large wooden coaster, a mine cart ride, a tram ride, a flat and enough shops and mine theming to fill in the spaces between the rides. Like his first round entry, WME made the whole map peepable which adds a lot of life to the entry. He also manages to make the same shade of brown look good throughout the entry and nothing is so large or obtrusive that it smothers everything else. The theming is done just right, leaving nothing too bare but not being too elaborate to be overdone. Facing this was Kenneth who had a good Round 1 entry but seemed to lose interest in MM partly because of facing such a tough opponent in the second round. He sent in Boot Hill which was a pleasant little entry with a sprawling mine train and some natural theming but not much else. It was a nice little entry but not nearly enough against what WME cooked up. Four votes quickly went WME's way and he moves on to the next round and we can only wonder what he'll do next.
Really nice entry Evil. I love the busyness of it all ad how you manage to fit two decent coasters in and make them not look ugly. Good luck in the competition.
Great work on your entry, WME! You're probably the only person who can make that much track look so good on a micro map. It's truly amazing that you can have so many rides visible on a map that small and have them harmonize. Quite honestly, I think that's the best entry so far bar none. Kenneth's entry is good for what it has, which isn't much besides the coaster. The foliage is quite good and goes well with the coaster, but there's not much architecture.
Evil WMEs is amazing, coasters don't look crammed in too much and the layouts are probably the best you could make on a map this size. And this is one of the first entries Ive seen that are all brown that I cant complain about there being too much brown because it just looks good the way it is. Nice job letting the peeps in too.
Evil's wooden was very nice, but it was all too crowded for me. I really couldn't keep track of what was going on. It's still the clear winner here, but the overall composition wasn't there for me.
Mark, you are the only person here who could pull something like that off. You capture the fun feeling of an old scenario while still maintaining a brilliant level of skill throughout. I looked at the overview and my mouth dropped. Just, genius.
wme: looks nice, but the only thing i see is brown..
kenneth: it's not bad, and it's good as a coaser for the UT, but it's not a coaster to win this contest.
WME's entry was just amazing... fitting all that on the map and making it look so good. I don't know that anyone will be able to spot him. He seems determined to go the distance and with stuff like this I don't know that anyone in his bracket can spot him.
Kenneth's entry was really disappointing after the great showing he had in round 1. Still I really liked the mine trains layout, but the rest was nothing compared to it.
No one will spot me Kumba? And i tried so hard ;P.
Thank you for the comments, everyone.
Snas, open up the entry before you say something.
I once started to debate the fact that other people seem to disregard anything in rct consisting of primarily brown. It's like there's a rule book, 'use colors other than brown'. I hope this entry blows that misconception out of the water. Go with colors that fit the theme.
This contest is becoming a bore, a forfeit and this. What is there is nice, a nice coaster and nice landscaping. But it stops there because there's nothing else to see.
I'm really sorry, guys, but I couldn't come up with a decent idea and I had exams, so I ended up with rushing an entry in two hours. I knew I wouldn't beat you with this entry, Evil-WMe, but I didn't want to give a forfeit.

What a beautiful mess of brown, Evil WME. I think that may be one of the best entries of the contest so far.
