A true blast from the past finally on NE again, after it was last accessible on NE3's parkmaker page of then "KumbaMaster", now "Tony", a Las Vegas based player hailing from DNet days. This park was released as a "Super Hidden Park" on NE1.

It features KumbaMaster's trademark style of organic urbanism, mixed and blended with temporary mini theme zones like a pyramid, or a medieval town. Otherwise it consists of a lot of trees and big wide inviting paths in a tranquille fluid style. It's realised with all sorts of scenery objects mixed togethr, in a way that both is, and is not, formulaic.

KumbaMaster was a Natelox fan to worship extent, and managed to persuade him for a guest spot on Map 2, featuring as a suspended steel mouse coaster called "Spear". Natelox who himself was still a young player at the time had just transitioned from his "The Westcoast" solo into his reverred "disney mafia" parks such as "Disney's Beautiful World".

As a little personal anecdote, on the fateful night that I first discovered NE and was hopelessly blown away by essentially anything I could download, Avalon strangely made the biggest impression on me for its deep and mystical atmosphere, which I responded to a lot, and had since, perhaps to this day, been looking for in RCT parks. Thankfully I found Schuessler later.

From today's perspective, the park doesn't offer too much to love, unless you have a historical lens type of appreciation for early scene material. I remember telling iris how this was my favourite park on the site, which he shrugged off because it was "too treed". What still stands out to me, other than a few incidental aesthetical eyebrow raisers, is the path layout. It's amazing to me how the maps are like a homogenous rhizomic nest of paths allowing you to go more or less anywhere. Also meaning that the map centre is purposefully used and not a lake, at a time when cliche 4 corner map layouts were used by everyone due to Legends West.

I hope some of you will find something to enjoy here, even in 2019.

"An amazing double mapper by KumbaMaster, with contributions from Natelox & x-sector. Natelox adds Spear and Toxicity while x-sector adds the huge wooden coaster Savage. Some beatiful theming and very creative ideas, and Kumba also adds several coasters like Sinister Demise & RP62"

    Tony on his parkmaker page:
"In the medieval country of Scotland, a powerful force flattened all the land of a great mountainous region. Nobody knows why or how it happened, but when the great theme park company of New Element came along, they got an idea... Welcome to Avalon, a gigantic thrill park set along the coast of the North Sea. Not much is known of the park so far, but it will be one of the best...and greatest. Filled with the most high tech rides ever created, alongside with old favorites like Plague, a coaster with interlocking loops, and the Spirit of Death, a wooden coaster with a massive loop. This park was a "Super Hidden Park" at NE."
