That's it, Iron Rattler. There are three great things about this that make you go "that's pretty neat", but it also makes that this piece can't hold your attention for longer than just a few minutes. The three great things:
- The ride is pretty neat, conceptually it's as complex and well done as you could expect for a ride of this size. Took me a little bit to understand what was going on, but then I thought it was pretty neat. (hint: the train is not going through the planet)
- The planet
- I love how those things are sticking out of the planet, as if it has been rolled around on the pavement next to a vandalized bus stop, with glass shards sticking out of it. The overview angle isn't the best angle to appreciate it. Pretty damn neat.
im glad this exists. I don't really get it though. the globe and arrows were cool. the ride didn't really do anything? its some sort of high speed transport thing on that line, maybe. cool though.
Oh man, Long time no see. Great idea and a cool execution. It’s one of those submissions where you appreciate the concept. Great to see you’re potentially back? Join the discord.
Hello, everyone. I should clarify one thing first. This was originally a submission to the Concept Creation accolade back in 2009 right before the category was removed. People didn't care for it much back then and by the looks of it people don't care for it much now either, at least without a few upgrades. If I were to do it over again, I'd probably opt for something more like the planets that were shown years ago in the Dump Place with small 16th tile blocks instead of the slanted blocks you see here. For those wondering why the ride didn't do much of anything, here's my explanation: It's a simple shuttle coaster based off of a Fish Hook coaster that was going to be built by the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas until it was abandoned due to potential noise complaints from people who lived nearby. I could have added another bunny hill on the lower planetary track but it wouldn't seem as plausible because it needs to be . In essence, it's just a coaster that starts in a building high in space and goes up another building high in space. I realize at these scales that the ride would reach terminal velocity and need some sort of lift to make it up the stratospheric buildings.
Could you PM me the name of the NE Discord, Fisch? I've tried searching for it on the site and through Google, but to no avail. I take it that it's a chat site for gamers. I don't own either RCT2 or LL anymore but I'd like to talk to some people on there.
Thanks to Liampie for digging this out of all the old unreleased submissions from years past and making sure that the coaster works. I have one last idea for something small I'd like to make in RCT2, an idea that I had years ago.
For those who are curious about the coaster that inspired this one, here's the link:
