After 7 votes by the judges, the winner, by a score of 4 to 3, is... Zodiac
Zodiac moves on to the Elite 8 where he will face Kumba. Knowing Kumba as well as I do I can tell you that he really wants to get to the Final 4 after falling short of it in QFTB-X. Zodiac will need to bring his A-game with stuff like this and his first round entry if he wishes to grab a win.
As you can tell by the judging results, this was a very close round and a very difficult round for me to judge. Both entries had portions that I enjoyed however the final decision for me was Alpha. It really came down to one item for me that lost if for Levis’s entry. There was just too much of the coaster hidden. I think that if you’re going to do one of these split level or underground maps, you need to be able to see more of the lower level. Levis, even though what you could see was very good, I wanted to see more of the coaster.
Good luck Zodiac! I think your going to need it.
Both entries were pretty well macthed. In Zodiacs case there was more of his coaster showing.
Levis - Great ideas going on. I like the dual worlds. I think a few more innventive ideas would of helped you win this one.
Zodiac - Nice archy, i didn't like the deco pieces over the windows on one of the buildings. Otherwise nice coaster. I think also a bit more foliage on the mountain woulda been nice. I understand that lava was flowing down it lol but maybe some scattered around the top.
lol the poll shows the judges where right on this one . its 4-3 for zodiac now .
1) judges not always are right;
2) if a diversity of completely indepent judges comes to a conclusion, there is a big chance they are "right". No more than that, and also no less, for you cannot use a stopwatch here to decide the best time of the runners in the field.
3) if a diversity of people, of whom a lot have not even seen the parks that are involved in-game, of whom many don't have any real knowledge of the game yet, or not much experience with it yet, of whom many just vote for their friends, or for their buddies....... now, if this diversity of people come to a conclusion in a poll, that is nice, as the people need bread and games (as medical opium is forbidden for most ). Anyway, it is a nice, mostly harmless and exciting way to fill your time with, which is a nice thing as such.But no more than that.
4)Thus a poll like that never can "show" a bunch of "serious and indepent" judges whether they are right or not. As judges (for RCT) are not politicians who have to make sure they get as many voters as possible to "agree" with them.
I didn't see this coming. An incredibly close match, and I really think I would've gone with Levis on this one, mainly because it was more pleasing to the eye. Although Zodiac had a great coaster, the entire entry seemed a little bland.
On the other hand, despite being a very underground coaster, Levis' was colorful and the archy well done.
Congrats to Zodiac on making it to the Elite 8! You really surprised me.

You're going to really have to try to beat Kumba, but I'm still rooting for you.
