the area around the dive coaster is nice but the rest seems sort of bare and open/unfinished. doesn't really push any interesting ncso ideas, just classic castle style without much else to see or real vibrancy. not bad though, just not particularly interesting IMO

I agree with Cocoa. I also must note that the landscape looks horribly underdeveloped up close, as I had talked about in a comment on one of your screens already, but zoomed out it looks really cool. People don't do less dense foliage often enough.

I really like the overview atmosphere, it's somewhat inspiring.

The sparse greenery is actually something that I have seen in real life and tried to capture. I think I did pretty well:

As you said, it doesn't seem to translate that well into RCT2 at a close up level.

It'll translate fine into RCT, if you put enough effort into it. Up close the terrain probably has more features than what your RCT interpretation shows. In addition to one type of tree and one type of shrub on a smooth sand surface, add more types of plants in different configurations (spread out, one specific areas, in patches, only around other trees, whatever), small rocks and things (if it applies to the area which I suspect it will), and maybe darker patches of sand. Maybe a creek. Trails. Wildlife. Whatever other features you can think of. Check out these parks:

I'm not saying this is the only way to do it. Obviously the terrains in the parks above will clash horrible with your park because of the different detail level and the grittiness of the style in general. The landscape should match the theming in terms of detail and refinement, and I think that in your case the landscaping is behind.
