Description
Recreation of Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL. This park was originally built by me in 2005. Since then, many improvements have been made as I got more skilled and added more custom scenery and hacking. All rides are peep accessible as well as most of the water slides in Hurricane Harbor.

Is there a reason the aerial thumbnail looks so bad? (same goes for all of the releases today) It also keeps crashing when I try and load it on my mobile, but that might just be me.
Excited to check this park out! It looks massive.

The full size maps are fine, just for some reason when I scale the maps in my software they end up like this.
Maps will be replaced.

Perhaps a solution would be to open the full scale aerial in chrome and take a screen cap of that. (Not snipping tool because that messes with the resolution). The scale down the screen cap to fit the thumbnail size?
I'm sure you know this stuff better than me, but just a suggestion.

No worries G, my map making is just shoddy, always has been, they should be better now. I was using the wrong settings, maps from me should now be as good as others
This park is lovely btw, I thought it was going to be awful before I opened it, but it is a decent park, should be bronze worthy IMO. The work is there, the quality just lacks somewhat, but regardless, lovely submission.

I remember spending ages searching for a Six Flags Great America recreation. It was awesome when I finally found the original version of this, and it's awesome today seeing it being updated.

I like a lot of it... But that section of turns on the top of X-Flight killed the entire ride for me.

This refuses to open for me.

yeah I couldn't get it to work in either games. everytime I opened it it went straight to 'updating object data' or whatever then wouldn't go

I found that I couldn't open it, until I placed all the dats that came with it into the objdata file, and replaced the ones that already existed.

The problem seems to be NEMT2. I had to override the one I had previously installed and then it worked.
Anyway this was fun, really dated but it reminds me of my old work (but this is much better) and I loved the scale. And god I forgot how fucking awful those Phatage catwalks were. Raging bull was incredibly fun with it's massive size.
There were some things I really liked and some things I didn't care for as much. Jester's Wild Ride for some reason looks great, the RMC cars look awesome here. The condor was simple but clever and some of the coasters (like Superman, Whizzer and Raging Bull) were really enjoyable to watch. I also loved the entry area, it's blocky as hell but fun.
The few negatives I had were Goliath which absolutely crawls and X Flight which would be good except for that S turn on top of the drop. Why? Why would you do that? lol
Really though those are minor critiques. I had a lot of fun viewing this with it's mid-2000's style. Good stuff.

hey i finally got this working. this thing must have taken some dedication so kudos to that. there were definitely some good parts and it looks like you took care to do the park justice, although some bits did feel unrefined/bare/under-detailed. I think it needed a bit more liveliness in general, as well as breaking away from such a square grid and generally blocky buildings and detailing. layouts were perhaps also a weak point, often feeling bloated or making the park layout feel strange and leaving lots of bare space. they're all hard layouts to make in real life though. otherwise though, its a good effort. i'm always interested in recreations, it gives you a different sense of what a park is like that I've never been to

I admire you for this man. Beautifully laid out. It's a bit stuck in the time of when you first created this in regards to rct techniques...but that's not all that important to me honestly. You definitely got the feel of this park exactly right and it screams Six Flags the second you open it. Great job on finishing such a big map, love the enthusiasm for the park, to do a full recreation!

Switch the image mode from Indexed to RGB before you scale it, then switch back afterwards.
