Congratulations. I think this is my favourite park since Thorpe Park.
Well done on having spotlight release on your debut, an incredible achievement!

Missing AE-PTRPN. It's not obvious to me what that actually is but it wasn't included with the park.

Congrats on the spotlight!... a rarity among builders, especially to achieve such high honors on your first build. Also, I think you have the most tags I've ever seen with a park!

Amazing Earl's Peter Pan ride.

I will respond to your comments in the very near future.

Thanks inthemanual.
Wow, I'm going to have to spend some time with this. The description that comes to mind is that it's just so fully realized. You have included just enough of the surroundings to make it feel like it just naturally belongs.
I don't know anything about the real park, so I can't really comment on how true-to-life it is but I can only assume everything is accurately represented. From a purely creative point of view, all of the buildings are at least good, if not great. They have character, and all look believable regardless of scale or theme. I love the detail on the lampposts for Lisebergbanan. I love that different buildings have totally complete insides. In fact the only complaint I can really think of is that perhaps the foliage in places is a little odd. Not really realistic nor totally in a style that works in RCT. I really love the way supports are done on Balder.
Congratulations on the Spotlight, Lagom. Really excellent work, and a total surprise to see another recreation of this quality.

Airtime's recreation didn't include a few coasters the park has IRL (like SAW)
Version1 Offline
The park was set before SAW was build afaik

I believe Thorpe Park is pretty accurate to like 2004 or 2005, IIRC.

My mistake. Thought it was more of an interpretation than anything.

I had completely missed the release of this! So happy to see it recieve Spotlight!
There are faults of course, but in a way recreating a real park and making it look this good (and more importantly, this accurate) must be a lot harder than building a fantasy park at this level of quality. No disrespect to anyone, just something to take into account when deciding on whether this park deserves Spotlight or not. Also, considering Lagom's own steep learning curve while building this, makes it all the more impressive.
On to the park itself. I feel it really captures the atmosphere of the place! We must be of similar vintage you and me considering the kids area looks a lot like I remember it from my own childhood (a trip to Liseberg was the most anticipated event every summer!).
I must say the final version of the foliage has really improved a lot! In the dense mess of coaster track around Helix and Lisebergsbanan I think it looks really good, while at the back of the hill, outside the park, it doesn't work that well. Not a major problem imo though as that isn't the focal point of the park anyway.
The surroundings add a lot of atmosphere and of course realism. Contrary to G Force I think the park wouldn't be the same without them, it wouldn't work nearly as well as it does. But that could be because of all my own memories of passing by on that highway outside the park, and being somewhat familiar with some of the buildings surrounding it. For me the surroundings are a necessary part, a key to make this recreation as good as it is. Shame about the lack of black tiles, though.
As someone who attempted (and failed...) to recreate both Kanonen and Balder 10+ years ago I'd say they are about as good as you can get them within the limitations of RCT. That also applies to Lisebergsbanan and Flume ride, of course (can't really say anything about Helix since I haven't been to the park since it opened, but based on photos and videos it looks good). The steep lift on Balder is a compromise but a normal lift wouldn't be any better. Actually I'm really impressed by your version of Balder! Kållerado and the area around Hotell Gasten was also very, very well done.
Lastly, those new Mack trains look really good, X7123M3-256!
I really hope you keep building, Lagom, and don't consider your RCT career over after this monumental achievement!

Congrats Lagom! Well deserved. I'll post a review later.

@Jersey Jimmy – First of all, thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you had fun when you watched it! I’m also glad you liked the coasters. I agree that Balder looks a bit weird. It wasn’t the easiest layout to recreate, and maybe it is a little bit too cramped in places.
The ferris wheel is the only custom flat ride I spent a lot of time to complete. I’m happy about the way it turned out. The other custom flats were not of the same calibre, obviously. There are some great custom flat rides made by other members, and the ones in this park are quite simple in comparison.
About the black tiles, I would have loved to black tile every single "unused" tile if possible. Unfortunately the object limit stopped me. It would have been possible to demolish some of the buildings outside of the park, and use those object slots for black tiles instead.
Glad you liked the stadium/arena. I think you’re right. It might actually be the size of a medium sized hockey arena. Glad you liked the Gothia Towers too. The real Gothia Towers are actually pretty cool. Whenever you see them you can’t stop to look at the little pool up there. You better not be scared of heights to swim in it.

@Cocoa – Thank you so much, Cocoa. I really appreciate your review. It obviously makes me happy that you enjoyed the park! It also makes me happy to hear that you liked the outskirts. I wasn’t too confident people would like them very much; and thank you for the compliments on the architecture. I was afraid I wouldn’t make the ‘modern’ architecture any justice.
Glad you enjoyed the layouts. As some members already pointed out, they are not without flaws. Kanonen is probably the weakest in my opinion, mainly because there are no diagonal loops/barrel rolls yet. Well, I shouldn’t make excuses
I’m extremely moved by the fact that you think this park is one of the best, most well-put together and complete parks around. I didn’t expect to hear that from anyone. Thank you so much!
I agree on the black tiles. I would have loved to black tile it. Unfortunately I couldn’t do it this time
@Scoop – I agree with you about the layout of Kanonen. Balder has some flaws too. However, I’m not really sure I agree with you on Balder being too long(?) I’m not saying you’re wrong though. I might have to take a second look.
About the trunks on those 3x3 trees; it’s kind of weird how I sometimes got blind during this project. I guess it’s sometimes easy to loose track of what look good and bad. If I could go back in time I would most likely change the colour of the trunks (if not redo all foliage again). So yes, your critique is legitimate.
@Faas – Thank you, Faas. Glad you liked it. It is nice to know that you liked the little theatre and the log flume station area.
About the foliage: to be perfectly honest, I sometimes regret I didn’t ask you for help. I often had a look at Vitaminland for inspiration, but I was never able to make it look as good, obviously. Anyhow, thank you so much. It means a lot to me to receive such a high score from you.
@bigshootergill – Thank you, bigshootergill. It means a lot that you think this park is realistic, but still brings the love. It was what I was going for, to be honest.
I hope there weren’t to many details. Looking back, it maybe would have been better to let the park be able to breath a little bit more. I don’t know.
I can see why you weren’t excited about the screens (or the project); some of them where really bad. But the help I got from all of you made a huge difference. I owe you all a great debt of gratitude. It obviously makes me happy that the park changed your opinion.
Well, thank you for reading the readme, and thank you for your review.
@Goliath123 – Thank you! Glad you liked the garbage truck. Thank you for the kind words!
@Stotsky – Thank you very much!
@olddtfan41 – Thank you!
