I thought it all was pulled off with a good deal of skill and all, but in the end I just saw it as being that same generic soothing posix atmosphere with some oriental music. There's nothing really wrong with that, but it could have been so much more. The architecture was crafted very nicely, buit it wasn't Chinese architecture. It just seemed like a theme thrown onto the coaster and area with no real acknowledgement to what you were trying to have it themed to, and thus the theming wasn't really that well executed. I did enjoy those pagodas on the island, but besides that there was the same flower placement that "you" always do, the same architecture style on a grand scale, and a coaster that has its lift hill on a mountain/hill. There really is no separation from something that slob or turtle would make, or even phil if he played rct2. Don't get me wrong in that it was design worthy, because I do believe it met the standard for the designs and I did enjoy it, but its just it could've been much better theming wise.
I agree with you Phatage. I honestly didn't really put any thought into this (not like I do with anything, really, my main intention was for it just to look pretty). The submission into the Deathmatch sort of threw me off, since I didn't think I would finish it, but I wanted to buckle down and just complete something for the hell of it.
I know it's not the most thought out project, and the theming is below par, and that half of the shit I make is in fact a wooden coaster on a mountain. But with some other group parks, guest spots, etc., I'm going to be thinking about what I'm doing.
But still, thanks for the comments everyone. It's extremely gratifying to hear you all enjoyed it. Let's see some more just like the way Phatage did it.
I know this is old, but thanks so much for reuploading this Wicksteed. I had quite the stroll down memory lane when I saw this again for the first time in years and actually, I can't remember the last time I spent so long looking at a park as I did with this. I miss building things like this. Definitely a testament to how the times have changed over the years.
Though by no means original, I've always liked this 'design' a lot. Best thing is the small meandering path area, I love that. Very atmospheric. The only thing this park lacks is peeps. I never understood why parks from this era had no peeps, even if peepable. Damn shame.
Yeah i really loved this "back in the days" and i still find it great. As Liam said: very atmospheric.
Where did the unfinished version go, that i also uploaded?
Nope, it's not in the DB anymore, so it must have been removed. Was the unfinished version released before this in another topic? Then do me a favour and resubmit while linking to that. Otherwise, Steve, do you want the unfinished version in the zip above?
Whatta trip down memory lane in these comments. Looking back, this was a favorite of mine and will need to have another viewing soon I think. Thanks, ][ !
yeah this is very pretty, nice bump! could have used something to really hold my attention- another tracked ride or something, and that would have pushed it to really be great I think

Gotta love Cork's considerations to reject this because it was previously released elsewhere
Steve, you're great, and this site needs more of your RCT. You know that right? I certainly do.

Still very true. If the coaster were a little more engaging this could have been a landmark design.
