The dates in the downloads DO NOT correspond to the available time the teams had to work on their park. The deadline was in place for both with an exceptional 90mins extension for one of the builders of the Flying Germans' park. Explanation below.
After people from other teams scanned through image hosting accounts of Flying Germans team members in order to gain "H2H intelligence" the Flying Germans had a major motivational blow over lack of team integrity and confidentiality as they assumed someone among them was spilling info. From then on, they had relied entirely on forum attachments or otherwise private channels. On the day of the R2 deadline, one of the builders of the Flying Germans park woke up early before work so he could put in an additional 90mins effort of work before sending in the park. When he tried to access the park from his team forum the site prompted "503 Service Unavailable" and repeatedly did so for all the 90mins he had saved. Eventually, he notified us about this issue before leaving to work and asked if perhaps he could have those 90mins after the official deadline. Otherwise we were to use the last uploaded attachment of the park, which in this case is possible according to the recent rule update on missing parks post-deadline(cf "Park Construction & Submission" - (6)).
As it was the site's failure that didn't allow him to work on the park and not his own, and as we could verify the site's unavailability shortly after receiving his email when it still showed the same error code (and would continue to throughout the day), we decided to grant him those 90mins via an exceptional "mini-deadline".
He was the only player available to work on that very morning so no one else was allowed to touch the last uploaded attachment which we retrieved immediately after the site came back online and made available to him to work on at an agreed point in time from which the 90minutes were counting. The park was submitted after 80 of the available 90 minutes. Each of us compared the two last versions of the park and concluded that the amount added was so little that he can't but have followed our instructions to only work for those 90mins and not send us a park he had happily been working on for days in the meantime. The message log in both versions of the park was also a coherent flow of "RCT time" with no jump in it.
Please do me a favour and end your allegations I've had to read in your team forums or be confronted with by people privately about us treating one team favourably. Part of the delay we've had recently is because of all the negative mood people have been spreading. It doesn't exactly motivate us to take care of the jobs the site and contest demand. Instead, go look at the parks and vote. These two definitely deserve some attention.
Anyways, what an awesome match-up, should be really close!
Tivoli Gardens doesn't look like Denmark though The urban setting seems too boring too, and that's probably because of the Olympics park which with the working traffic creates a more buzzing atmosphere, and I feel the road stuff (road lines/lights/street lights) don't work. I guess it's just a pity a similar park (with interiors-park at the center of the city) was posted just before yours..
What is Park "Edda" about? A readme should've explained what it's about! Some parts still seem unfinished, dead and boring.. The Ragnarok was AWESOME though, and may even win you the match, as a proper coaster was missing in Tivoli Gardens.
That said, Tivoli Gardens is a bit better imo, so my vote goes to Tivoli Gardens by the Replacements.
2 great parks, it's a shame Park Edda is so unfinished, it would have been this H2H's Park Asterix. My vote goes to Tivoli Gardens. I felt it had some areas of weak architecture (particularly around the map edges), and while I feel the skill evident in Park Edda is slightly higher, I can't vote for it because of the unfinished state it's in.
On the other hand, Tivoli is absolutely gorgeous and I can't begin to choose one specific thing to call my favorite: 8th Wonder? The Concert Hall? The Boardwalk? I love it.
Tivoli Gardens There was real heart in this park. As soon as people do that even supposedly boring old attractions can be full of flair and charme. I thought this park had that abundantly and it made it wonderful. I was also much impressed by how well composed it was, considering it's an H2H park and a dense city theme. Very very impressive. Perhaps only one thing to take extra care with next time: I felt the ride entrances were often a little too unprominent and thus hard to find (especially Maurer&Söhne and Mirage Tower).
Flying Germans Wonderful wooden coaster. Some of the details literally blew me away like the pirate ship which almost looks as if it was native RCT. Amazing work. All the hardcore details that went into the architecture must have been so time consuming to come up with I can't hardly imagine. It does outline the theme which is great. This obvious effort does impress, but to be frank it doesn't captivate for me. The composition of the park was all over the place (Aegir's Fury and Spinning Mouse ???) and the atmosphere became tense and unclear as a result, especially when contrasted with Tivoli Gardens.
Ragnarok in Park Edda is almost amazing enough for me to give that my vote hands-down. Some of the bits were amazing, like the roof for Ragnarok, the sunken ship in Aegir's Fury, and the custom swinging ship. But a lot of the architecture seemed boring and a little unfinished. The green/brown building right at the entrance, and that dragon were awesome, though. Oh, and the transfer track on Ragnarok didn't make much sense... Pulling the train over just to have the track incomplete defeats the purpose.
Tivoli Gardens sucked me in like a thousand-dollar whore, and once I realized what all this stuff was supposed to be, the classical feel of it all is just so... classy. The colors were a little inconsistent, and a lot of the really modern stuff clashed with the old style rides (particularly Shoot the Chutes). The restaurant in the middle was great, and I adored the concert hall. 8th Wonder and Flight of Long were both joys to watch with great pacing. However, there's really no central thing I can point to liking the most. That's not necessarily a bad thing - the park is extremely consistent in its quality, although maybe no so much in its atmosphere. The Asian and European styles don't really blend too well, and I think the park could have used a little more foliage.
I'm not a huge fan this "in the middle of a city" thing, and I rather hope it goes away. But both parks show a ton of effort with some great details and designs, but I'm going to have to give my vote this round to The Replacements.
Both parks are good. Edda was a tad disappointing because the front half of the park was brilliant but the grey structure and the back half left a lot to be desired.
Tivoli was more consistent and was very very well done. But something about it didn't impress me as much as the front half of Park Edda. If Edda was built to a consistent quality this would have been an easy match for me despite how good both parks are.
This is a really, really hard choice. But I think I'm going to have to settle for Park Edda by the Flying Germans.
Some ideas in Trivoli had some issues and the 1k ruins looked absolutely atrocious. Other than that, the architecture was outstanding in both parks. I loved the GCI in Edda and the trackitecture was brilliant. The water ride in Edda was amazing as well. Trivoli didn't really hold my attention because of some of the color choices and small rides. Overall, the best matchup so far.

And I think for those who are complaining about Tivoli not having larger rides, you should really look up real Tivoli parks...
