obviously, mantis, but i thought there wasn't a way to fix it. It seems stupid that so many people used a glitched workbench like that though, they really never should have in the first place.
i can only run RCT if its Set to run in Windows 95 compatability mode. other wise it errors as soon as it opens. And when run in 95 mode it takes AGES to open the save/load window... any ideas?
mite only need a reinstall but unfortunatly i cant reinstall for a month as my cds are at uni and im at home. anyway.
also problem 2. the edge of the map thing. I have the same problem but on a full scale map...
All the red squares on this screen believe it or not are in a straight line along the map edge. the walls only appear above the level 6... when trying to lower anything off the edge of the map it just says "Land not owned by park" tis slightly odd.
i believe this may of occured using the beast trainer to flatten all land as the workbench was fine when i started yet only noticed this after messing around for ages.
I played LL for the first time last night and I'm already in love. I'm quite sure that I will use LL for my next solo, but we'll see....
Posix, thanks to your guide, I had the game working in within 5 minutes of getting it out of the box! I looked at some amazing spotlights, (womb, riveriera, city of dreams, SWA) and still have a whole slew of other parks to see. As far as building, I must say that when I finally got used to the restrictions and adapted the gameplay, I found creativity pouring out of me in a new, different way from RCT2, and just as fast. I'm addicted after one night. However, I still need some hacking assistance. I still don't know how to remove supports when using a path for awning...
but posix, thanks for this imacculate guide. It really made LL worth getting....
jkay, i'm glad to hear the guide has been a help for you. can't wait to see ll work from you. it's also a good feeling to see how you've understood the ll attraction in so little time. as for the supports, either chairlifts, or paths under them. there's a third method, which, however, takes away anything supports. build over what you want support-free a coaster and bury it with dragons5. back in the game, remove that coaster and zero clearances. you can now adjust the ground to whatever you want, no matter what track, path or ride there might be in the way. aside from removing supports, this also kills a lot of restrictions.
as for roomraider, really, i'm a little confused. my only guess is that your workbench is maybe a 124x124 or 125x125 (midnight aurora told me that actually, full size is 126x126. no one knows exactly). if there's nothing built yet, i'd recommend you use aceworkbench.
added a little bit of information to 1.5) updated aceworkbench to v1.1 i took away the map entry spot because when people shrink the map to a size where it's hidden they can not create two new ones. rct still recognises the one in the dark. also i've marked the point 0/0 on the map for orientation when shrinking.
Posix I just used your guide and got LL working on my XP computer, so now I can finally have LL and RCT2 on the same computer. Thank you for putting in all this work with this guide, right now im working on a basic hacking guide for RCT2 and I know how hard it can be.
One thing does strike me as odd tho. When I DL parks from here I get the zip ok, but when I open it the icon is blank looking and is a "Roll" file type I think? I can open the parks, however I need to have it done in-game. No big deal just wondering if that happens a lot? Is it ez to fix?

You've even pursuaded me to open a plain LL workbench.
