due to the new host, the adix.nedesigns.com domain got lost. as all the files from the guide where hosted through it, the links were dead. i just fixed them. and while i did, i found a bunch of interesting stuff. the creator of the "drexler patch" actually called it "rctpatch" after writing "tddpatch" for "transport tycoon deluxe". his name is josef drexler though and therefore people began calling it "drexler patch". here's his homepage: http://www.jdrexler.com/home/ on the rctpatch page, there's a "how to uninstall rctpatch". i never knew this was possible until today. i need to overhaul the complete guide sometime soon. the colours are annoying and beast has become redundant due to 4cars.
beast is not redundant at all. 4cars only works in american games, I have the british version so cannot use 4cars so for my heavy zero clearancing i still depend on it.
ok i have a problem, I installed RCT on its own, than I installed LL, than I downloaded the official patch(RCTLL-US(I am running the US version)) and it just says "Unable to update files Unrecognised game version, wrong language, or game files are corrupted" I haven't dled the drexler patch yet and everytime I open LL, it just shows the original scenarios and nothing new :' /> please help.
Ok... I'm having the exact same problem trying to install the UK version of LL on Windows Vista. Here is a run through of what happens...
I install the original RCT with no problems. I try to install LL and for the first two attempts it gets close to completing and then I get a 'SETUP.EXE has encountered an error and must close' message, on the third time of trying to install LL it works (I have installed it twice now and both times it takes 3 gos) So now I assume RCT LL is installed correctly so I download the UK patch and get the same message 'gibbsies' gets everytime! When I try and open the game I get the standard title menu and 'Exception Raised - Access Violation - Error Unkown' message.
Is there any hope for me or am I destined to never play LL again?
When I install RCT it's fine. But when I install RCTLL I also have to do it three times for it to work, then i just apply the drexler patch. The UK version I have came with the most recent LL version, do you know what version you have? Cos you might be like me and not have to apply that patch.
Nope that doesn't work, i'm not sure what version I have but I just un-installed and re-installed again (got LL to install 2nd time!) and used the drexler patch and it didn't open.
A strange side note - I tried installing all add-ons individualy and AA installed fine and I even managed to open up and play a new scenario without any patches but once I closed it and tried again I got the standard error message, weird.
- One more thing... when I am re-trying LL for the 2nd and 3rd time it starts installing by 'Copying remaining conflicting files' or something along those lines?

i too have been getting random errors during the rctll installation process. but even though the game still runs fine. honestly, i have no idea what could be the problem. one thing is for sure though; installing the drexler BEFORE installing the rctll patch is a bad idea. you can uninstall the drexler patch by running a cmd and adding the "-u" parameter to the rctpatch.exe. that way you won't have to completely un and reinstall rct1 and rctll if you wanted to try if drexler helps.
wow, interesting. did you apply the "Official Update Patches For Loopy Landscapes" thing? i was wondering if the patches i found on atari's page maybe weren't outdated.
Yeah that's the one, worked first time and haven't had any trouble since. What's the difference between the two, it's strange how only one recognised LL?

i believe the ones on atari's website are the old rctll pages. not the ones to get v...13 (which rctinc has).
So I'm not sure if this is a computer problem or an RCT problem, but for some reason I can't see a folder I created in RCT in Windows (Vista). I'm able to see and access the folder while in RCT, but even if I try manually type in the address in Windows, it can't find it.

It works! TPM's back in the game!
Thanks for trying posix, I think you need to put a link to that patch in the guide!

Sorry, I completely forgot I posted this, haha. To answer your question, yeah, it's installed on C. I am running it with no disc as well.
