k0ng, i don't think you need to jump on him that much. i can understand where you see a contradiction though, and why it would annoy you.
how and why people play the game ultimately doesn't really matter to me. there are different approaches to the game. i just see that there's a vast majority playing to win recognition. either through a regular accolade win (design, spotlight, concept creation) or an h2h win, which is actually much more concentrated on this "win" part and also determined by the community, your virtual peers, the emitters of your recognition.
very true. when i started just playing to win an accolade was when i couldn't finish anything. i didn't have any inspiration because i didn't want to build the park.
build for yourself, then let that result be for the others. it works much better that way.
Furthermore, seeing other builder's park developement ingame is a huge-ass inspiration for me. H2H really pushes me far beyond my limits, something I couldn't accomplish as a single builder.
4) All parks must be submitted to nedesigns@gmail.com before their respective deadline (11:59PM UTC -11). The submission e-mail is the only instance where the creator's names can and must be revealed.
Added:
5) A forfeit is ruled if no park is submitted. Creators that were working on that round do not count towards Rule 2 of the Player Lineup section.
6) If a park is submitted late a poll will be posted in the opponents team forum with two options. 1) The park is disqualified. or 2) A version of the park that is clearly pre-deadline (verified by posix) can be used. A 51% majority must be received for the winning choice.
In the event of option 1: The park that was submitted late is posted for the match in which no voting occurs.
In the event of option 2: A pre-deadline park is used during the match up and voting occurs as usual.
Either option will count towards Rule 2 of the Player Lineup.
Honestly, thinking that anyone is suddenly 'enabling' DQ's is moronic . The rule states/stated that if a park was not received by the deadline, it was DQ'd. No ifs, ands or buts. What they're trying to do is not have people's hard work go for naught. Which, I think, is a great concept. But, having gone through two of these 'votes' in three rounds already, I have to agree with Kumba that it should just be the latest, verified save prior to the deadline goes into the matchup as-is. No opponent voting, no nothing. The team submitting late simply has to go with an unfinished entry and that's that.
Or, just stick with the original rule as written and move on.
Yeah, I agree with Kumba's idea. If the final version of the park isn't submitted, use the version that was last posted in the team forum. That way if the park is accidentally not submitted, something close is still used. The last minute stuff usually isn't that important anyway. An 85% park with a chance is better for the team than a disqualified 100% park (though I'd hope the final version would still be released after voting is complete).
To go along with that, I'd also let the submitting team have the option to simply forfeit if they want to save their unfinished park for a later round (if that's allowed, not sure).
Nothing was added to the rules that will change the outcome of any original rule. We simply clarified the rules for forfeit/DQ situations on whether or not players count or not, which was pretty much understood by all captains anyways. Also the vote was added purely out of the decision we made to do it in rnd1 & rnd3 so it's only fair to give this option the exact same way in similar situations. The vote in the team forum doesn't hurt any teams, because if there was no vote it would be a DQ anyways.
Also a specific deadline, which was left at "Wednesday" which is the last possible time for Wednesday in the world. So that isn't new either.
Xcoaster--if a team wants to forfeit, they just don't send in a park for that round.

Did you read the first part of my post? Here's the same thing, but by RRP:
I think DQ's should be removed or considered to be removed from this contest or the next (if there is one). This contest is about the parks and i think no matter what condition the park is it at the deadline time that park must be played and if the deadline is not met then the last upload has to be played.Im not sure about te other teams forums but we've been periodically uploading the parks from day one
Now combine that with the second part of my post (which goes against the idea that every park must be played, but I think the teams should have an option of saving their parks for a later round. But if a park isn't submitted, and the team meant to submit a park, the last version from the team forum should still be played).
