    RULES & REGULATIONS

The concept of Head-2-Head 5 is two teams face off in a matchup, each submitting a mini-park made by one to three players. Though parks are intentionally small to allow plenty of time for construction, players must cooperate with each other in these group parks. Upon the deadline, both parks of the matchup are posted on the forums for the public to vote upon. The winning park is the one with more votes. In this way, Head-2-Head acts as a RCT Sport, where the teams and scores are the competition.

Like any sport, it has its own rules upon which play is judged upon:

    Player Lineup

    1. No player can go two consecutive rounds, including the playoffs. Failure will result in disqualification.

    2. Every player on a team must be used at least once during round robin. Failure to do so will result in the team losing their playoff spot.

    3. Every park must not have more than three players. Failure will result in disqualification

    4. The constellations of players must be unique for every park the team submits throughout the whole contest. Failure will result in disqualification.

    5. No player can build more then three times. That includes playoffs. Be careful how you use certain players. This ensures that everyone on the team gets their chance to participate. Failure will result in disqualification.

    6. No more than one solo park allowed during the season, including playoffs. Use it wisely if you choose to do so. More than one solo park will result in the park being disqualified.

    Park Construction & Submission

    1. There is no official bench for H2H5 but we are providing you 60x60 starter benches: RCT2 | RCTLL. Map sizes must consist of a total amount of tiles whose sum must be no more than 3600 and no less than 1600 during the round robin, and no more than 4900 and no less than 2500 during the playoffs of "effectively built on tiles." This means that with black tile objects or lowered land indicating unused tiles, a park could be 25x75 to form a rectangle shape, as long as the tiles built on are in the range of 1600-3600 tiles during the round robin or 2500-4900 tiles during the playoffs. This allows you to shape your map in any way you like. Failure to meet tile range requirements will result in a disqualification.

    2. Any player may create or provide custom scenery for his team. This will not turn him into a creator of any park.

    3. You must not put any team-member's names on any H2H5 park in any way. This includes staff names, mosaic signs, underwater land coloring or any clever way of putting your name in the park. Failure will result in disqualification.

    4. All parks must be submitted to nedesigns@gmail.com before their respective deadline (11:59PM UTC -11). The submission e-mail is the only instance where the creator's names can and must be revealed.

    5. A forfeit is ruled if no park is submitted. Creators that were working on that round do not count towards Rule 2 of the Player Lineup section.

    6. If a park is submitted late a poll will be posted in the opponents team forum with two options. 1) The park is disqualified. or 2) A version of the park that is clearly pre-deadline (verified by posix) can be used. A 51% majority must be received for the winning choice.

    7. In the event of option 1: The park that was submitted late is posted for the match in which no voting occurs.

In the event of option 2: A pre-deadline park is used during the match up and voting occurs as usual.

Either option will count towards Rule 2 of the Player Lineup.

    8. All Teams receive the chance of a one-time deadline extension of 3 days. This counts for the entire contest. The captain of the team has to create a written record (captains lounge post or private message posix) in order to make use of this option. It has to be dated before the respective deadline.

    Captains

    1. No captain can replace a player at wish.

    2. If a player drops out, the captain must choose a player off the Replacement List.

    3. No player from the community will be allowed to join the replacement list after sign-ups.

    4. A captain absolutely must not add a player's name to a park that he did not participate in. Should this be discovered, the team will forfeit the entire contest.

    Voting

    1. The parks will be voted on anonymously. The players will be revealed at the end of the voting.

    2. All matches will have a five day limit (120 hours) after they are posted for voting to occur. If a poll is tied after the 5 day limit, the poll will remain open until a winning vote is received.

    3. In the event of a forfeit or disqualification, the park that was submitted will receive the average relative winning percentage of all winning entries to be used in the event of a tie and the contest statistics. The team forfeit will receive 0% for this round in calculation of their average relative vote percentage.

    4. Only members registered before the trading week start date (3/11/09) will be able to vote on matchups. To vote, you must be logged in before you download the parks. Inside both parks you will find a random vote code in the custom message at the bottom. Write down and enter these codes in the poll to cast your vote. Voting codes ensure that every person who votes has opened both parks in game. This prevents people from voting on matchups when they do not own a specific game.

    5. Players will not be allowed to vote in their own team's matchups.

    Advancing to Play-Offs

    1. When the round robin has come to an end, all teams will be ranked primarily on their win/loss record, and secondary on their average relative vote percentage. The Top 4 teams advance to the playoffs.

So thats a 60x60 max size?

Thats a new rule, in the past the replacement list was always open for people to sign-up. What happens if RRP or Xcoaster drop out? They get replaced by someone who was not even drafted? Well maybe you'll let us do what we did in the past and let the captains vote on a replacement.

THAT IS LESS THEN A MONTH TO MAKE A PARK!!! We need like an extra 2-3 weeks imo or the park will be rushed.

Everything else looks good and im looking foward to the season... just not so damn soon
  • geewhzz%s's Photo
Well that sucks that you drafted a potential drop out. It punishes the captain's choice. Also with a potential 3 players per park a drop-out and replacement might not hurt as much as before. Maybe if people took that into consideration for H2H4 we wouldn't have so many big name drop outs. I'm pretty 100% positive I didn't pick anyone I knew might drop because to me, that was a huge factor.

I think the times are fine, too, especially with the smaller map sizes and possibilities of getting 50x50 parks or 40x40 parks...those are very small to begin with. Just pick some quicker players for the first round...

Nice job Pos on the logo! (or did you hire someone else?)
Also nice job on the whole table and rules, looks very organized and structured..

Pretty tight schedule, but I like that! My team can handle it..

If a question pops up I'll ask, but it's all pretty clear to me.. Good job guys and let's make this another unforgettable season with awesome parks! :D

Excellent job guys! Very professional and should be a great contest to watch.

Whats tough for me as I have a reason to cheer on any of the six teams. So I think for this compo, I will watch as Switzerland :)

    Best of luck to everyone!

  • ][ntamin22%s's Photo
    ^ sort of.

The rules are distinctly lacking in information regarding EXACT due dates [time of day] and what time zone we're going by for days.
  • chapelz%s's Photo
I do believe we should do double elimination for the playoffs, but this is my personal opinion.
  • Steve%s's Photo
The new three people per park rule is very very interesting.

    Go Minutemen!
  • Comet%s's Photo
Forgot to say I love the team name and logo.

Those rules seem pretty fair. As does the time between each round.

    Woooo H2H!!
  • Levis%s's Photo
    okay.
    time to start building ....
    tight schedule
  • Magnus%s's Photo
    wow, that is tight.

I totally agree with Kumba here. The quality of the first round parks would be a lot better with some extra time to work on them.
The later rounds could have closer deadlines in exchange, so it does not even result in a longer duration of the contest.
  • egg_head%s's Photo
    agreed.
  • Lloyd%s's Photo
I think people should be able to pull of some good stuff in those time limits. Bearing in mind you can have three people per park.
  • robbie92%s's Photo
I agree w/ Magnus and egg on the first round deadline. It'd be perfect if it was extended a week, because that amount of time could allow teams to make a better 'first impression."

    Oh, and GO HURRICANES!!!
