Even though my park didn't rank to highly (17th), I found this one of the more enjoyable things I've done in the game! Knocked it together in about an hour, and had good fun doing it.

I have yet to look at the LL parks, however I went through all the rct2 ones and here's my personal order and a little comment on each park:
The Best:
1) City of Gold- Jaw dropping excellent. Archetecture shows texture and form abilities that rivil Toon's or Mala's. Sure the coaster was a little subpar and the river ride was kind of strange however X proves himself to be king of theming and architecture, again...
2) Minas- Great color and texture combination for a convincing atmosphere and theme. Above par coaster and ride set up.
3) The Hive- Unique theme, good color combo and possibly Jkay's best coaster. Not at all bad just nothing amazing.
4) Rev2Micro (turtle)- Amazing atmosphere, good coaster, decent theming and above par landscaping. Excellent. The hacking pulled it's weight too. Great work.
5) City Square Raceway- Wildly interesting and huge archetecture. Detail is great, atmosphere is pure beejer (different, in a good way).
The rest:
The Rich Life- Poor, boxy architecture, iffy landscaping, not even that great of a coaster, however it pulls off a decent atmosphere and it reminds me of back when I first started playing the game.
The Marqusas Exporer- Looks a lot bigger than it is however it's too jagged, random and buzzy.
Breaking the Habit- Cool centerpiece, now where's the material?
Micro2- Solid Coaster, Pleasent atmosphere, good color combos and arhetecture, this would be up much higher if I had a say in it...
Pine Mountain Retreat- Generic everything... Nothing wrong here, just nothing even close to special.
Fun Park Thingy- Pure fun. I think Drew may have went this way because his normal style takes some spacing to pull off and that simply wouln'tve been allowed here.
Overgrown Odessy- Decent archetecture however the treeing was awaful and the coaster was way too short, even by revolution standards.
Golden Heights- Rich Atmosphere, good coaster, nice hacking good layering, just suffers from lack of stuff...
Waterfall Run- Um, COASTER! That thing is sick...
Forgotten Fortress- Excellent form and ideas in the archetecture however the colors were too busy and painful to make it look good. Why haven't you people learned that you should be careful and use only one 'accenting' color with a neutral until you better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the color pallet?
Champions Highland- Desirved and even higher spot that it got imo. There was and excellent dark atmosphere present, great archetecture and detail. The only problem I had was the randomness in some of the treeing with the themed objects and the cheater breaks all over the coaster.
Brei- One of the few that had a strong, clear theme and some decent archetecture to back it up. The coaster was about average for this rev group so not too bad. I still thought it was a bit plain...
Balmora- Nice archetecure yet it somehow has a stale atmosphere and the coaster is awaful. Weaker than it's ranking suggest.
Storm Force 10- Again a bit weak for it's placing. Great coaster but the landscaping is too rough and the archetecture is badly out of date. On the other hand the theme was clear and the park was easy on the eyes so that the coaster could be enjoyed.
I'll get to the others in LL and any rct2 park I may have missed at a later date/time because I'm tired of typing and stuff.
i thought most were mediocre, and only xsectors was really worth while. The essence of a micro park is to put a lot in it, not just have a little bit of space and do the same with it as everything else you do in rct on your 126 * 126 map. Some were bland.. i mean, how can you only have 10 * 10, and then make a BLAND park. That must really take something. I miss the ingenious designs of blitzsama, and possibly my taking part in this.. i did like corkscrewed's as well though. Jkay's seemed ok. I'll view some more later though.
Revolution 2 Park Pictures. Updated with rct2 parks. Please inform me of any errors through a PM. Thanks. Also, if anyone is willing to take pictures of the rct3 parks, I'd be greatly appreciative.
Fun Park Thingy- Pure fun. I think Drew may have went this way because his normal style takes some spacing to pull off and that simply wouln'tve been allowed here.
Actually, no. If you remember the last PR, you would remember that about most of them were crazy as hell. I figured I would go that route as well for this PR. I could of done a park with my usual / normal style if I had wanted to...
I've only looked at the overviews, and I'm trying to figure out how some of these got as high as they did.
Oh well... I still had a lot of fun, and I'm thinking of doing another park.
Wow great work. IMO X-Sector was the best by far. Hell I told JKay to spice his entry up when he showed it to me, coz I thought it was weak, shows what I know
P.S. Lucky I was finishing BP at the time these were being made, coz id have won in a landslide (you'll see why in my next solo..)
haha, we should get a download of revolution 1 up just for comparison and maybe some screens of all those parks =P
and yeah... I SHOULD have participated. And WME is right, it's all about stuffing your park to the MAX with something this small. It's training you to take your usage of space more seriously instead of throwing crap out there all spread out and hoping you got something interesting. If you know how to space well, it will be more interesting 90% of the time. The people who made boring little parks FAILED. Sorry to say, but it's true (okok... I'm not being literal with those last 2 sentences, just making fun).
my top 7:
1 City of Gold
2 Minas
3 City Square Raceway
4 Hive
5 Waterfall Run
6 Fun Park Thing
7 KingdomUtop
Micro2- Solid Coaster, Pleasent atmosphere, good color combos and arhetecture, this would be up much higher if I had a say in it...
Yeah, my entry is awful, if the better one was judged, i know it would have placed higher.
Check this out, Roomie. You reply you recieve mine twice, once after I sent the first one (the good one (so you must have it)) and once after the second one. It's alright though. I'll try to send it to you tomorrow. It's my birthday, so I'm going to go study for 2 tests tomorrrow.
I dunno what to think of the results. There were a few good ones, but even those could have been better. I regret that I couldn't enter because I had no time for it. If there's a next one it might be that I'll enter too. (so you better watch out )
Hobbes you rock!....big thanks for putting thos screens up....
Anyway, I'm still shocked about the results. I really think X-sector had the best entry, even if it appears to rely strictly on themeing. Corky's entry looks damn nice too. Kumba is right in saying think there was something "missing" from my entry, but I'm still very proud of the coaster. Definitely the best track I've ever built. And this guy Beejer?...holy crap. Wow.
If were judging off screens, my top 5 would be (minus my entry of course):
1. City of Gold
2. Minas
3. City Square Raceway
4. Mental Heights
5. Storm Force

well if any of the park makers who signed up had bothered to do 16x16 squares within 2 months....
Anyway in my mind that wasent really the purpose of the project. i was hoping it was an idea that would appeal to everyone within the community from the new guys to the old pros. And in turn would show quite a good overview of the community today. Which imo it did. Alot of parks released today imo are bland. With only a few sparks that really stand out amongst the crowd. And we have the newbies at the bottom end who need to be encouraged and will continue to get better.
Which is exactly what the general feeling is about the pack i feel.
Once again thanks for everyones entries. Postit i found your 2nd park today. I will post it this afternoon.
What the hell? the fifth place got highrt score then the fourth place... that just too wierd.
place 4 and 6 have the same score. for me that means.
place4: Storm Force 10 by Gutterflower (62.5) place 5: City Square Raceway by Beejer (62) and Rev2Micro by Turtle (62) place 7: Balmora by Anolis (58.5)
i personally really don't ge the whole project. it doesn't really make sense to build such small parks.
anyways congrats to those who have a pretty good place. it's not only the first places, but also those people who got a higher score than i expected.
