2.Tierre Mortica by Corkscrewed
We have our silver medal winner. The jack of all trades himself, our leading man at this website for the past year has proven that not only is he the most helpful person at the site, but quite possibly the best parkmaker here too. It’s not very often that a parkmaker stays around as long as Corkscrewed…and it’s even less common that a parkmaker that consistent continuously improves and improves. The accolades for Corkscrewed would fill up the entire page, and while he still is unable to add “NE contest winner” to that resume, it’s still one that includes multiple spotlights at both NE & D-Net, runner-ups, QFTB-X RCT-2 champion, H2H-3 Most Valuable Parkmaker, and tons more. Ironically, we may have just now reached his best work with the immense “Tierre Mortica”. In my opinion it’s by far the most complete, most solid, most atmospheric, and in my personal opinion, best overall park in the entire contest. Starting with the rides, we’re treated to an incredible coaster line-up considering how small the bench was, highlighted by rides like “Ritul di Sacrifyss” (B&M Dive Machine), “Espri di Lupos” (wooden caoster), “Minoe Mortica” (a snaking mine train), and “Vùlkh Ahnk 'tu 'Pàhkên” (a custom shuttle loop). Not to mention “Rio di Mortis”, an amazing river flume as well as the unique custom towers “Vùlkh Ahnk 'tu 'Pàhkên”. Aside from the rides, there is the theming, the architecture, and most of all the amazing atmosphere, something that’s always been Cork’s strongpoint. Only this time around, he’s included a very detailed backstory to the entire park, fully equipped with the park’s own language (although that part actually held the story back for me a little bit and kept me from enjoying it as much as I could have), clues hidden throughout the park, etc. It is as close to a movie in RCT2 as we’re ever going to get, so I advise each and every person who explores this park to really take the time to allow themselves to become engulfed in the storyline, it really adds a new dimension to the park. So congratulations to Corkscrewed in his highest contest placing in NE history, and so long to Turtle who I have a feeling may ‘mysteriously disappear’ at any moment…

It looks great. I can't wait to check it out.

Almost like getting peppered by Dick Cheney.
I'm kinda disappointed, actually, because this means Trav is gonna win. I can't believe he pulled off an amazing Spotlight type park in three weeks, but man, hats off to him!!!
Just kidding. Congrats to Phatage for winning this contest. If Iris had the benefit of hindsight and an inclination for rigging things, Phatage would have won last year too.
In any case, I'd like to add a new word to the NE Contest Lexicon:
to turtle (v.) - To singlehandedly prevent someone from winning a contest by giving them a noticeably lower score than everyone else.
Not to be confused with 'to pyro' (v.), which means to completely low-ball a contest player, but not to the point where it costs him the contest. synonyms of 'to pyro' include 'to Grinch' and 'to vTd.' As of this printing, there has not yet been anything else that has measured to par with 'turtling'

Kissing it would be more appropriate, his entry was better.

I don't think that 9 was as damaging as Fatha's 3 though...

Add up what Phatage's score has to be, figure out what the difference would have been had I gotten Turtle's 12 instead of his 9, and say that again.

It's just bad luck for you, Cork. I really liked Phatage's park too, but this will be the one I will remember a long while later.

Oh, and I might as well say it here. I honestly don't expect anyone to try to decipher that hidden language stuff, because most of you will think it's too nerdy. Feel free to prove me wrong tho...

Great park man, so much to see and do. The mine-train ride was totally amazing, i watched it all and it must have really taken ages to make, and it was made to perfection. The woodie was nice, very long but somehow kept its speed to an acceptable pace all the way through- which was good of ya. My favourite part was the dive-machine, if nobody has guessed so far, B&M dive-machines are my favourite coasters, and i think the drop on one of these babies is one of the best ways to use path/coaster/scenery interaction to perfection. I think you pulled it off really well, speeds were good, and the drop was magnificent, love the 'blood' theme in it, and its station was sooo big and evil looking, reminded me of one of your QFTBX entries. My only beef with this park is that the 'custom language' gets kind of confusing, and didn't allow me to see what was written on the signs explaining what looked like some really cool ideas.
Overall, this park was fab. Great fun to look at, and i bet it was great fun to make.
Look forward to working with ya Cork, we'll see if we can put one over on Turtle eh?

The architecture was typical corky style, really awesome, believable structures with nice detail. The landscaping was top notch with some great height changes.
Pretty much the only flaw in the park is that i think many of the coasters spend too long underground, particularly the mine train, but also with the wild mouse and the dive machine.
I'm really loving the idea of a story and clues and stuff for us to find. Haven't had a go at it yet, but certainly will. It will be great to find the hidden details and stuff and it's great how you took the time not only in the park, but to create this story and all the details that come with it.
Probably more in depth comments after I've tried my hand at these hints and clues etc.
