I think he means if a submission get les than 25%, I'd be in favor of this so we don't have to waste time just so someone would get up in the ranking a few points...

yeah no points at all below a certain score would be fair, < 25 as posix said would be a good limit, though it could be set even higher IMO. As for shares, that's a different story. Even though a certain guest spots wouldn't recieve > 25 % votes if it were cut out and submitted on it's own, simply because it is so small, it's part of a larger park and make up part of the score the whole park recieves. Hence they should be rewarded accordingly.

Aww ^ But then I'd lose 20 points for my Micro Madness entry lol

the rule should only apply to park which are submitted competative. so not for contests etc. so you would keep your 20 points for the MM

Liam it's weird how your rank is number 1 but I don't see you as number 1 at all after that release. Ah well whatever you have to do to get your rank up.

thanks for the opinions. let me try to update the cut-off idea ...

the absolute, the total, not individual, amount of points earned must be >=25. else the multiplier = 0. all releases with a fixed amount of points, i.e. contest entries, are not affected by this because they don't have a multiplier to begin with.

Yeah, submitting something like this to get to number one is asinine and rather pathetic.

there is a fairly obvious flaw in your plan i think Liampie.... :)

But i want to see if I'm right before i tell you what it is.
    Point whore :p

Could it possibly have anything to do with years upon years of failed/semi-finished/small/experimental works being forced through the panel? :p And the fact that certain members have been around and playing much longer than others? Naw, couldn't be. :D

I honestly didn't expect this to get a score of only 18%... I thought it would be at least 25%. I even included some 'little things' to make it more interesting!

To you and some others: Please stop with these comments, although they may be justified. And reaching a second page of replies would embarass me even more. I got the message and learnt my lesson! No hard feelings on my side. :mantis:

I don't really get what you say, both... :p

You know what, I have tons of old RCT2 and LL parks, maybe I should submit them, they won't get more than 30 points, but still.

They are justified, you know that. I already thought, hmm, Liampie misses 30 points, how will he get those. And this was the lowest you could go to get them. I really hoped you would send in another GOOD QUALITY thing....

You know, when I first started discussing this point system and rankings with Gee almost two years ago now, I pushed the idea early on that on a site with dwindling membership, productivity should be emphasized most of all. Quality should be rewarded, no doubt, and it is. But without constant releases, the site would die. The ranking system rewards members who are both talented AND active. Don't bitch at Liampie for working the system in the most productive way, even if it is "socially horrifying".

I mean if we start looking at all the people complaining, I'd imagine they haven't produced anything of value in months, certainly not 3 releases in one month. Even Roomie can't keep up with that pace. Don't make me start looking at your profiles to prove my point.

Really? :) I could have released 5 last month instead of 2.
However i wouldn't want people getting bored so i have staggered the releases.

When I submitted this, I didn't expect it to get such a low score... It was made a long time ago, around 2005, but I updated the foliage and architecture a little and added some cool (no pun intended) details. I didn't think it was this bad. The frozen staff was a fantastic detail in my opinion! But yeah, it doesn't really matter actually. Skip this.
