The individual sections though just don't really inspire me. SanFran had a very nice bridge but the adventure ride wasn't anything new at this point. The buildings look nice, but no better than other X-Sector themes. The dueling woodies are great. Between these and that H2H2 park and Universal Outrage, X-Sector is a master of dueling coasters. Nothing else about that theme really stood out to me though. The Tech city theme is really impressive. Those big turbine things and the crazy mine train track all over the place make for a fun and different theme. On the other hand, once you watch the mine train and the vertical coaster, there's nothing else to do in this section but gawk at the architecture and the rocky cliffs. Impressive, yes. But somehow lacking in lasting appeal. Mantis' section is just crazy. That's a hell of a coaster you've got there. Definately a Mala inspired creation. The problem I had with this area is that when you stack so many ride pieces on top of each other, you can't see anything anymore! Well I suppose I could delete stuff but I don't really like doing that. It's very impressive and I'll spend a lot of time looking through it but it's less charming than Age of Empires and WOMB. Almost like it's crazy just for the sake of being crazy. I've been accused of using too much detail before though, so I'll have to give it some time to sink in and reveal itself. And then there's Toon's brilliant coaster, impressive Buddha sculpture, and a lot of moderately interesting oriental theming. I can't express how much I loved Spirits Bay. It all fit together brilliantly. This section doesn't quite fit together as well. It's still a very nice section though.
So yeah, great park. A lot of very clever ideas in all of your work but the park seems lacking in identity. It's like 3 great parkmakers showing off their skills and it is technically impressive but I tend to like the intangible things though. The undescribable details that find their way into a park when you work on it lovingly for 8 months or so. That's what's missing from this park and it's no one's fault. It's still brilliant. It just isn't one of my favorite parks.

mantis: High Time City is my favorite area in the park. Everything just REEKS Mala..the wonderful landscaping, the jaw-dropping theming and placement of objects that nobody else seems to use, yet you use them in ways unimaginable and creatively. The coaster ain't half bad either . I like the balloon, your creative genius shines through yet again.
Toon: Shangri-La happens to be my third favorite area in the park...great coaster, first of all. It just FLOWS..its nice. I also like your use of the wooden coaster awnings on the roofs, japanese touch lol. Your lanscaping is phenomenal, theming aswell. I just....love it, lol. Nice job to you, sir.
FAVORITE AREAS:
1 - High Time City: mantis
2 - New New York City: x-sector
3 - Shangri-La: Toon
4 - Tech City: x-sector
5 - SanFran 2050: x-sector
Incredible park, guys. Simply incredible. I applaud you.

Hot air balloons & balloon station - I love the idea of gigantic hot air balloons, and how perfectly those sculptures was done.
Now, when I open the park, I slowly move the view towards the station, slowly zoom in, and then finally lands. It sounds a bit stupid, but it's fun
The actual station is nice, nothing "wow" but still very cool.
Shangri-La - Great invert. Really a joy to watch. I'm somewhat doubting on parts of the theming though. Some of the buildings looked as simple filler, and the pagodas didn't go very well with the coloured walls. However, it sure is a fun area to explore, and the Buddha figure is amazing, same for the wall.
San Fran 2050 - Looks very impressing when zoomed out, especially the waterfalls and the bridge.
Zoomed in, it's a bit boring. Almost none of these little touches, every building (with a few exceptions) look the same, and the adventure ride isn't very exciting either, as nothing happens around it.
There's nothing really memorable about it, no small details to notice, and the fact that Fatha's Miami 2040 is basically the same thing takes a way a lot from the originality.
Tech City - Better than San Fran imo. The cores are fantastic, both "Iron Man" and that mine train (forgot the name) are cool rides. I especially liked how the mine train went through the glass tunnel, that looked very impressive for some reason. This also has more character than San Fran, with the all the mini-coaster track and more interesting architecture.
Nice colour scheme, too.
NNYC - The best of the three areas X did. It's full of these little cool touches, like the space cars, the subway etc. and also these things that makes you go "wow", like the water tower-thing and all of the dueling woodies. Those are amazing, and the Mala-influence is pretty evident.
Lovely colour contrasts and some daring theming choices, and it all works very well. The first thing I thought of when seeing this area was actually Futurama. Great section.
High Time City - Colours! Very crazy area, indeed. Typical mantis work.
Remembered me of that h2h2 park by X and, um, someone else. Harakirii, maybe.
Anyway, wonderful rides. That compact steel coaster looked a bit like the old scenario ones, only a thousand times better themed. "Automatic High" managed to make those large helixes look really good, which is simply amazing, just as the rest of the coaster. Nice naming too.
Either this or NNYC is my favourite area, can't decide (not that I have to...)
I was sort of dissapointed in all the water, it took away from the feel of the park at it's best. It looks somewhat rushed and lacked a little depth...
However, it's still a fantastic park, good job

WME you ask for me to do a disney/universal park well this has been on my mind for a while now and it also made me want to do it a bit more now I have seen Fatha's Disney park finished. I wanted to do a disneysea park in RCT1 but as it doesn't run as faster on my pc now as rct2 does and I can't use beast as much as it will crash. (too much of my pc memory has been taken up thats why)
I have been thinking about doing a universal park in RCT2 but we will have to wait and see
thanks for the comments guys keep them coming If I didn't have a week to finish this park I would of made it alot different I don't think san fran would of ever been in the park if I did and Tech city would of had more details.
One thing I never knew about this park was that it was going to be a spotlight thanks so much Iris

I've never been a really big fan of X-Sector or Toon's LL work, so please bare with the comments. "Tech City" was the most inspiring of all the themed areas. The Jules Verne colours the "Tech City Core" really stood out. These were, in my opinion, the only stand outs for this section. "Ghost Of Tech City" tried to hard to be "The Mystrey of the Giza Connection" (I think that's it) at Cydonia City. And the long, tall buildings with repeditive windows and glass just made me want to turn away. "New New York City" was much better done in terms of architecture, but the buildings blend with everything else which just make it really difficult to look at. "Planet Express Delivery" tried to hard to be "The White Stripes". The ALE inspired colours were refreshing because not many people use that style today. "High Times City" was probably my favorite area of the park. Mantis brought his organized chaos back from WOMB. The path layout was very questionable, esspically when dropping four 'elevation levels' in one fell swoop straight to sea level. "Automatic High" was an incredible coaster! "Hydroshock!" and "Trippin'" were also favorites. The drug/hippy theme, while exectued well, was too explicit for my pure enjoyment. The ballon landing site was an incredible idea! I just thought it looked too much like Hotel Yorba. "Shangri-La", which I assume was done by Toon, was too much for me. The colours were all over the place and the lack of fences didn't help me. On a brighter note, "Lost Horizons" was very cool and it's strange inversions were entertaining. "The Golden Buddha" defines a perfect sculpture! I can't take my eyes off it! "San Francisco 2050" was probably my least favorite of all the areas. The entire city looks the same. The steep elevation changes, while mimicking the real place, looked out of place here. The overuse of rollercoater peices and repeditive windows matched by overly tall buildings did not make it any better. "Tramline Express" was a good idea, but why he did not use a Suspended monorail car as a tram, I wish I knew. As for the park overall, the lack of unity hurt it in my opinion. I can see how they tried to create unity by adding tons of water, but it didn't help me. Sorry guys, but I didn't like it. I'm sure many others did though!

And Blitz inspired. More Blitz, I think. Release ANTI, foo. Delete stuff! Do it! You can always reload And you're right, I was being crazy for the sake of it. But it sure was fun. Where that sphinx came from I have no idea... This isn't detailed, just heaped.
Hmmm I think it's quite unlike Mala's work. His is well planned, nifty and a lot less disorganised. He does things for a purpose, which is exactly what I decided not to have when making HTC. I'm glad you like the objects though - I go to great lengths to use things that aren't often used in weird situations, so thanks for noticing and commenting Half? Couldn't you make that 3/4? Awww, go on...
DJ - glad you liked the rides. I'm always most proud of my rides.
WME - that's fine. I liked yours a lot But i'm learning, dude, i'm really trying.
I'm glad you liked it (well, compared to the park as a whole). I'm very proud of the rides here, so it's good that you enjoyed them. I hardly know anything about drugs, so i'm sure it's not as explicit as it could have been. I just wanted it to be trippy, and hopefully it is.
Anyway, NNYC is one of my favouritest areas ever - and people think about this. This area was made before Hi Rollers. That was like last July. And he made it in 8 days.
Damn.

I think it's quite evident that mantis & X truly are the Leaders of the Old School.
Toon helping out didn't hurt either

We need to come up with a more appropriate centerpiece. (Oh, and I really do think the mine train is one giant trainwreck that we tried too hard to salvage, and didn't quite do so, but it's far too far along to scrap =P).
Anyway... shouldn't I get some credit for the "no entrance" thing?
When I was supposedly working on it, me and toon had a little chit chat:
me: so... how we gonna split this?
toon: one of us has to do the entrance, and i really dont want to do it...
me: me neither...
toon: hmmmm...
me: fuck it, lets NOT make an entrance, see how iris likes it!
toon: sounds good to me
yup, good times

I really don't know what to say about it though- parts of it were awesome, but now, I don't remember individual sections as much as I remember a jumbled mess of coaster pieces thrown together...
But individually, the sections were quite impressive! My personal favorite was... probably High Times city, but the others were right up with it.
My favorite parts of the park:
a) The hot air balloon entry was very creative and well done. Also, the hot air balloons themselves were some of the best, most real-looking ride structures I've ever seen in RCT. Bravo.
The waterslide taxi transport in NNYC. These rides just aren't used enough anymore IMO, and the idea was carried out perfectly.
c) Lost Horizon- ah, I love toon's inverted coasters! This one was no exception- excellent job on this... I wish I'd have just gotten to seen an invert or two ala Dueling Dragons in your IOA park...
d) The Japanese Garden section of the San Francisco adventure ride- it stood out so much, and it made that one little part of the park so beautiful. I wish there would have been more interruptions in the masses of machinery so we could really apprecitate the beauty and simplicity or awesomeness and clutter of the park!
On the whole, I would have loved if there wasn't any water, and the map was filled with crazy, uber-themed cities. But what there was was very nice....
I applaud you. Great job.

Just a few comments on my area. I started it ages ago and was happy with how the corner area up to the buddha turned out. Then built the coaster and started working on that area and felt that I backed myself into a corner theming wise. It all started to get too random and I couldn't figure out a way out without starting that area over. At this point I stared at it for hours and couldn't come up with anything. This was the same time as I was having problems with time and creativity issues in all aspects of RCTing so I unfortunately sent the park back to Iris with my retirement plans. Mantis was gracious enough to finish off the area without altering anything, but the end result for me just doesn't quite work for me as well (no fault of Mantis').
I'm still thrilled to be on the map with Mantis and X and have my name on a spotlight! I'm glad the coaster has been received well...thought it might be a little unconventional and not so well liked. Also glad about the Buddha statue and Balloon...they were a lot of fun to make. As for criticisms of the park and my area specifically, I pretty much agree with all the negatives I've heard.
As for my preferences of the other areas. I think NNYC is brilliant. High Times City a close second and the other two X areas tied for 3rd. There is X-sector brilliance in these two areas, but I can certainly tell that they were rushed and done on a very short time frame. I would have loved to see them had you had 8 days instead of 4 to work with! Still some incredible work for 4 days.
Thanks for all the comments and keep em coming!

*Balloon HeadQuarters, and Balloon(s): Toon?
The Balloons are among the best coaster sculptures ever created, right up there with the helicopters in Battlefield RCT. The landing pad and surrounding buildings display perfect use of the color red and excellent use of ride peices to enhanse the architecture.
*Shangri-La: Toon (+mantis)
The simplicity of this area amazes me. There are spots with no fences along the paths to spoil the beauty of the gardens. The use of wooden coaster track in architecture is some of the best ever seen. Lost Horizons is quite possably the best inverted coaster ever made. It's unorthidox (read "original"), somehow it sustains speeds that seem impossable, almost like ol' Schuessler himself made it.
*High Times City: Mantis
I can sum this one up easily: Spazastic. The colors are all over the place and yet magically fit perfectly. Automatic High is possably the best steel coaster in the park (although Toons inverted and X's mine train make for stiff competition). Everything in this area defys restraint. Unfortunently you've raised the bar so high with certain parts of WOMB (Pavis Mons) that this just seems to lack the depth of your other work.
*San Fran 2050: X-sector
My least favorite area of the park. The color use and the little asian parks seemed to help but most of it just seemed so mono-toned. Tramline was nothing that I haven't seen manytimes before. I still like, don't get me wrong, it's an amazing ride but nothing that hasn't been done 15 times already. I just felt that way about the whole area really. Somehow it was too like Miami 2040 to help itself. The depth of NNYC isn't here either...
*Tech City: X-sector
Amazingly detailed. It's like Cydonia City all over again, only taller and more X-y. The Goust of Tech City screamed of "Mystery of the Giza Connection". I love it. THe detail and depth here was improved but I still feel that it somehow lacks the little things that make the best area...
*NNYC: X-sector
My favorite area. Planet Express Delivery is almost like watching Mountain Chase or Villians Raceway for the first time again. Amazing speed and perfect timing, both the signitures of Mala. The area has unbelieveable ideas and details everywhere, tons of depth. The ride architecture is well done but not as overdone as in Tech City or High Times. The Space Cars parked about, the subway... Man...
Overall:
I think it's top ten material but I still feel that on a whole the park lacks the depth to hold a place there for long. I think it really suffers as a group park and I feel that overall the City Of Dreams could've been made deeper and more everlasting as a solo.
