RCTNW Designs is proud to announce the Grand Opening of Skagit River Amusement Park.
This park features some of my favorite structures including the RCT2.com Convention Center, RCTNW Designs Facility and the Skagit River Grand Hotel.
No-pre-built coasters were used in this park. This was very important to me as Paradise Bay did contain a few pre-built coasters and I wanted to make this as original as I could.
I would also like to that everyone who contributed to this park from all the great custom scenery makers Toon Towner, Cougar, Buggy and many others. I’d also like to thank fellow RCT Masters - Kai and The Riddler for providing feedback when I needed it. I can’t forget ja227 for a wonderful trainer. Thank you all.

I hope you enjoy your stay at Skagit River Amusement Park.
First off the big buildings are fantastic. They look realistic and well built. You use alot of glass though. The park is quite nice also, but the coasters are just too unrealoistic or my liking. Especially the Goldrush one, it just would never be. I liked the supports on Sounder though, not too much not too little.
I hope no one throws a rock at one of your buildings,
Hevydvey
@ rct2.com you said opening day is june 1 but sooner the better
I know. I was in a good mood after I saw the Indy 500 (big Penske fan) and with the park finished, I decided to open it.
First off the big buildings are fantastic. They look realistic and well built. You use alot of glass though.
Thanks Hevydevy. The Convention Center was partially inspired by the San Diego Convention Center on one side and I thought that having the glass wall on the other would allow for a good view of the park. I too hop no one throws rocks at it either.
Personally I think the best part of the park is how your landscaping is actual landscaping. Even just from the screen you can tell how you try to make the landscape look realistic and still impressive instead of the standard jagged rocks. Very nice. Of course, RCT2 still sucks but I'm getting used to it ever since Fantastic Wonders.
.....and that was the only reason i bought rct2, bah
the park is pretty decent tho but its still just the usuall with block buildings and symetrical stuff, kinda repetative to every rct2 park whether it be kai with the bright colours or the other people with 'acceptable' ones.
Park's ok. Just some things need to be changed. The coasters are horrible, the colors are bad and there are too many of the same coasters. The water ride I think is the best park about the whole park. But still, its your second park so its quite good. Keep making these parks, you can only get better.
theres nothing i can say that hasn't already been said. Yes, still too blocky. Yes, good landscaping.
well, your getting better at coasters nw, but a long way to go still obviously (atleast you made them this time around )
my offer for you though still stands, so IM me @ Blitzsama
Thanks everyone for the comments, but I have a couple of questions. I know what my defenition of blocky is, but I would like to see some examples of non-blocky structures. Also, what makes the coasters bad? Once again, if they are ALL that bad, please tell me why.
I don't mean this to come off as ungreatful or disrespectful, I'm just courious.
rctnw iv been following your work it is nuts like paradise bay that hotel is crazy but this park the hotel has a whole diferent feel my favorite part is the pool and the RCT2.COM convention center is huge its bigger ythen any thing in your park.Ilove how you use the glass on the building.the monorails where kind of a dissepointment from what i saw in pb you could of made way better monorails or more. and make it so guest can go to then park please can't wait till pacific iland.
The actual layout is amazing. But I dislike just about everything else.
I think the theming and scenery placement is outstanding, but your rides are absolutely terrible and you have more parking then park itself.
I give this 5 out of 10 due to the fact that there is not much actual "park" in this park and your rides (namely coasters) being really bad.

Thank you for your time but I have a few questions.
If this park had been on a map that was 115-115 and had nothing but the park (approx size of the actual park on this map) then it would have been better? And if so, why would it be better?
I design my parks to be as realistic as I can and that includes parking lots, roads, employee areas, hotels and such. I could see your point if it was a 200x200 map with the same amount of rides that were spreadout all over the map, but in this case I disagree.
Also, could you please be more specific on why my rides are "absolutely terrible"? This comment does not help people to be better, it's just a polite way to say they are crap and leaving it at that.
Final thought, most parks DO have very large parking lots. This is a realistic park (or at least an attempt at one).
Personally, I love this park, and as much as I liked Paradise Bay, I feel this is a stronger park.
I don't understand the confusion or claim that the park is small. Your eyes are deceiving you. A 115x115 sized park is about the same as your standard LL 128x128, especially if those have a fringe border of trees/water. The park only looks small because it is on a larger map, and includes structural goodies like the CC, hotel, design center, etc...The fact that it has a rather organized employee entrance is incredible.
The coasters are much improved, and while I still don't like the placement of the helicopter rides in front of the Invert, that's about it. The rapids are fantastic (like a slightly smaller version of the one in the RCTM Showcase) and as MiCool said, the landscaping is effective without the rocky style. Sounder is still my favorite coaster in the park. Slightly barren without looking dreary, complete with a beautiful station.
