Description
Much like recent accolade winner, jusmith, Luigi made his debut here at NE during the Micro Madness contest held several months ago. He seemed to pop up out of nowhere with his first round backup entry, Mine Mania, that was put up versus Levis. While it wasn't enough to get a win many people were impressed by the work Luigi presented and were anticipating future parks by him. After several solo screens in the Ad and a released Road Rally entry, Luigi began work on Gamez as a contest entry over at RCTAvenged. Now, it's finally completed and with this Concept Creation Luigi has showcased his skill at pulling off a creative theme.
The main ideas behind Gamez deal with the classic games that just about everyone has played at some point in their lives. It's not hard to find something to relate to and there are plenty of references packed throughout the map. Upon opening the park the most prominent sculpture (one of many) will be the giant cube located at one corner. Each of the four sides are highly accurate depictions of the game screens of Mario, Pac-Man, BomberMan and DigDug along with Luigi's Mansion perched on top which serves as the starting point for the coaster Luigi's Crazyness. There are also two other large sculptures on the map, a giant Luigi statue and the Great Deku Tree. Wario's Golmine is another large structure which offers a lot of little details as well as several rides to explore and Donkey Kong and Zelda aren't forgotten with a themed ride apiece. There's a lot to see on such a small map and it's easy to appreciate the time Luigi spent on creating the collaboration of classic characters and games that is aptly called Gamez.

I had a similar response to posix; I first opened it and was kind of underwhelmed. It did grow on me. I thought every part of it was great except for the Zelda coaster, I think. I really liked the castle on the top of that hill and that main coaster. Well done.
It kinda motivates me to finish my project(s) in a weird way..
Nice little concept there luigi, although it's not really the style I like..

Its score suffered a bit, but I'm glad it still won something. Wouldn't be fair to give someone a prize and then arbitrarily stripping him from it.
I love the idea behind this park actually, would be cool to see this done with the 2016 building standard.
