And Nate, as for a cliche park, yours is RATHER similiar. DDI has a big mountain in the middle, which, I could say you copied from VTD's DisneySea. Take that mountain out, boom, cliche park.
BTW, you say "my #1 spot" as if its suppose to be yours...

ok im not the 1st to say this but there was something missing in this park. maybe its the placement maybe its the theming maybe its the originality i dont know, if i look everythings just fine but there was definitely something missing. IMO Tropico Cove was better. Coasters like Mustang and Loco Toro just werent in Tropico Horizons. The idea behind Spider Mountain is nice and ive made a lot of mine trains because of it, but i really dont like the ride. It features hardly any thrills and just seems to be lifted. Id really prefer a mine train with some wicked drops etc. Paladin was perfect, yes, but did it carry that special amazement of "Thats the best coaster" feeling kind of thing. no. i thought the paths were also a bit wide and the architecture redundant. The thing that got repeated the most is definitely the jagged rocks with one 4th tile scenery. I hate it. The best coaster would be the flyer, but imo it got wasted by the theming. I have also seen untidyness n ur work, which i dont really care about but a good tester shouldve pointed out that the land under path is continually changing, and squares seem to be forgotten about to give them the correct color. Theming wise id but avalon 1st, the arizona, victoria, and then thebes. Thebes was my least fav, and i preferred all the otehr areas. Now if u compare Cove and Horizons, u see Cove is less "perfected" but perfecting something that isnt quite as good doesnt quite get u a higher spot in my "list", i made it someday i felt like making one, and i kept switching a bit, but Cove is at 2 and Horizons isnt in my top 5. Maybe theres just one thing, and thats the treeing, Cove might have the best treeing ever, coz of the variety and yet the sameness. I do like how Horizons seems a bit more serious, that might have to do with the perfection. I wonder who agrees with me, but i have a feeling most will disagree.. oh well

TH had a better floorless.
TH had an adventure ride.
TH had an excellent mine train (You even said yourself you made many mine trains because of it, so the coaster had to be half decent).
TH had a Giga, which I like very much.
TH also had a B&M flyer, which, again I like a lot (And imo the theming it had was perfect. Think about flying through and around a mountain).
Cove had more coasters, but I still think the quality of TH's were better. And, as for Dragon Flight vs. Paladin, Dragon Flight is better, and it is the best floorless ever, without a doubt.

father: i dont think that anybody thinks the park is bad, but since Iris says that is the best park, period, people want to find sumthing wrong with it. so they are. great park, now finish your rct2 park.

I understand this clearly, and I dont have problems with people pointing out flaws, however, I will defend my park, its just my nature. And, as for BGSS, dont expect it until August 2003.
And BTW, my name is Fatha'! Sorry, but saying "father" sounds like your calling me your dad. Plus, fatha' is ghetto.

the hyper was good, but not great
as goes for the flyer
and the mine train was "half decent"
and that just doesnt compare to how i feel about Coves coasters.. i LOVE loco toro, as well as catagory 5, as well as mustang. These three coasters all place above any others in Horizons imo, which make a better park for me especially when i like Coves theming and treeing better as they seem more original, and the treeing isnt different but the treeing itself is hugely varied, and the landscaping under the trees is as well.. i dont like the treeing in Horizons very much.. maybe thats the only thing, but it affects sooooooo much.. and because my opinion was so different, it was called the radical opinion of evil wme

And Nate, if it's any consolation, you're still #1 on my unofficial Chart.

The old original vs. perfect debate.
Does a park need to totally destroy the envelope to win spotlight? This park, as well as DDI, proves that you can win spotlight with either an insane amount of new and innovative trendiness (UIX, Snowdrop), or leet, perfect, crisp parkmaking (DDI, BGL, This). I persoanlly loved it, and Fatha wasn't trying to reinvent parkmaking...he was tryin to make a kickass park.
9.563/10
I saw severalsquares that stood out as being grass, etc, so that cost you .07, and the B&M lost you .1.

Anyways, here are a couple quick responses.
1)I didn't mean to say Paladin was the best Beemer ever. I also agree that Dragon-Flight is. I meant to say "one of the best", as it is in my opinion. It had perfect placement in my opinion (regardless of what someone said, maybe WME). It reminded me of an old, classic, SA floorless, like Leviathan & Phoenix. The Thebes area is my favorite ever.
2)Being #1 on the List is simply a matter of opinion. Really, it's basically an accolade I have the privelage of giving. I mean, for most people, saying "you have my favorite park" is taken as a nice compliment, but my #1 spot on the List seems to mean a lot more to some people (glares at Natelox ). Now, DDI is definitely #2 right now, and these 2 may switch on and off. I will tell you that those 2 are far ahead of any other park right now.
3)The thing that made TH was basically what Fatha' said. Sure, I've seen Medievel theming, western & egyptian theming before. And believe it or not, I think Cove's western area was better then TH's. But all in all, I felt that TH was the perfect, complete package. While it didn't introduce anything new really, it didn't have any flaws to it. I think the architecture is better in this park then any other I'd seen, I didn't find one coaster that wasn't done very well, the theming was all top notch. Add Paladin, EFM, and Spider Mountain, three of my favorite coasters ever built, along with Thebes (my favorite themed area ever), and the best architecture, and it just barely edged out DDI for my #1 Spot.

Imagine yourself in a hilly, grassy, sunny valley with a couple lakes and the whole day for a picnic.
Now imagine a large, jagged, rocky land featuring dirt, rocks, and shrubs.
I'll take numero uno.
And I know it looks better with the second one, all I'm saying is the grass and rock wall aren't at all bad looking, you shouldn't judge them bad because they are the defaults.

I think the placement of the coaster is perfect, kinda different. Not in the corner like always.

Everyone has a 'list', but yours (and corky's) has greater meaning because you (iris) runs the web site, and your opinons seems to be more or less in tact with everyone elses. Only a select few dislike a park if its a spotlight. And Corky's chart has a larger meaning because he too has the opinon that most people see. Of course there is the other fact that it's on a web site (oooooh) therefore rules over others
