None of them were what you'd say... exciting. Rapid rides have never really been an easy thing for me to be interested in. Infact, the only one I can remember was from a recent park with the hacked turntable thing. The ones that were entered were just so blah.
I often get error trappers in RCT2 when I try to load something. It checks the object files and then crashes. When you try to load the SV6 again it works. If it doesn't, try again and it works. For me at least.
The problem is not with the scenery. I have tried to load it at least a dozen time and still no luck. I loaded it for the zip, extracted it to the saved games folder and my document. I have tried it form all three places and nothing works. But you can load the landscape into the scenario editor from the saved games folder, so I don't think the problem is with the scenery.
LOL. I'll tell ya what: if you enter every contest and consistently finish in the top three, we'll give you a spot anyway (haven't cleared this w/ Iris) .
Freak - your entry (well, the real one anyway) is actually pretty nice. I like the bumpers (they're really catching on, which is a good thing) and the colours are very nice. I was also a bit confused by the lodge...I was expecting some cool hotel type thing but it turned out to be a normal building. Oh well. I like it. This new style of rapids that everyone's using is brilliant.
Yeah the lodge. Heh. I was hoping you'd do more with that. Really make it a part of the ride. I was wondering what was up when I saw the entry that wasn't yours. Needless to say, this one was a lot better. And I've got my own forest too! I'm sasquatch. Cool.
Regarding the others, there's not much to say that hasn't been said already. I was really impressed by Kumba's. The vegetation was perhaps a little too thick and uniform but there were some great theming ideas and some nice buildings too. Voodoo's was by far the largest with the most varied theming so it's only natural that it would win. It was kinda like Butterfinger's entry in the RCT2 coaster contest in how much bigger than the others it was. Some nice ideas in darkfire's ride too. The main problem with it was that the theming was a little too crazy. Too many waterfalls. It was impressive though. And gymkid had the best ideas and for the most part he pulled them off pretty well but the general lack of theming and the problems with the ride breaking down preventing it from really making a good impression. You should refine some of these ideas and try them again in a park. So congratulations this time to Voodoo.
For number 8, may we place thrill rides around the coaster? Like put a drop tower in the middle of a helix, or something like that?

Sorry for double posting, but it's a different matter.
Kumba, something is messed up with your 1K scenery.
It kicked my computer's ass...

Pause the Game.
Load kumbas.
