And what the hell is wrong with my architecture and landscaping!?  So it's a bit repetitive.  Don't even let me start on your hotel...  :bring it:

Okay, you want to know what's wrong with it? Here ya' go, since you specifically as[s]ked.

    Architecture
    - Plain
    - Repetitive
    - No detail
    - Round windows
    - 2x2-like (with little variation)
    - Colors
    - Roofing

And I could go into more detail about each specific component, but you should be able to get the "jist" of it.

    Landscaping
    - Different land textures used
    - Different wall textures used
    - Tree selection
    - Tree placement
    - Messy
    - Usage
    - Rushed

... Now seriously, grow up. You won't get anywhere being so defensive about your work. You could use it as something to better yourself, like I have used the criticism towards my entry, but whatever. People hated it, accept it and move on, don't be an immature "sore winner".

Okay I'll saty out of this argument, but will ask for some advice. I have some mine train proablems. I am not a coaster maker..thats for sure. I can get good ratings in the game but I don't think its what you all like. At one point my coaster goes up a hill and goes down to 12 mph before it hits another hill. And it goes throught he rest of the ride in the 30-40mph range and when it goes up hills it slows practically to a halt and then goes down the hill. Is this good? How can I fix it. I tries to make the first hill larger and it did the end nicely but got ratings of 2, 16 and something else. The ratings for the slower one is 8 and 9. What to do...what to do.....? Help!
  • Panic%s's Photo
That's bad, Bender. You want to have a ride with a run-and-gun pace. Just build the hills shorter. And don't make them using the steep-sloped hill track, just shallow up and shallow down. The minimum speed you want at the tops of hills is about 20-25 mph. 30-35 is better. Keep the lift hill the same height. Whatever you do, you don't want to go over steep hills really fast. That hella increases the intensity. If it's going fast, use shallow hills.

I could write an essay on how dumb this argument is but I'll stay out of it because I couldn't do any better.

I may enter considering how easy it is to get in.

Poor Kumba. just can't seem to get in 1st.
  • Kumba%s's Photo

This round was a terrible letdown. I didn't like either entry at all really.

what? thats bull. the round may have been really small but both entrys were ok.

mine had some of the best rct2 hacking to date, and only really lacked in the adventure part, so i can understand ride6 winning on a count of that.

really stop wineing about this round you got 2 good entrys. and i dont want to hear this bitching from those who could have enterd (not you john, duh) and did'int.
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo
Kumba, I think you should pay more attention to the theming. The hacking was nice but the theming was primarily the same bushes repeated throughout. That just isn't very interesting. Adventure rides should have scenes along the way. That means theming. Track jumps and all that other technical wizardry is cool but just like Special Effects in movies, the story has to come first. Hacking just for the sake of hacking will only get you so far. If you put more time into the theming you would have had a better shot.

As for ride6's coaster, it had a couple of advantages. One, it had a discernable theme. The large temple wall may not have been pretty, but it was more interesting than just bushes. Inside you went a little crazy with the rocky terrain and trees. That made it hard to follow. You had some variety in the elements though with the loop and the spiral lift hill. I still felt it was lacking in story. And the theming could have been 'cleaner' I guess. But I appreciate the scale of it. And I thought the architecture wasn't bad, if a little simplistic.

Welcome to the Pro Tour ride6. I'm sorry you didn't make it again Kumba. Just spend some more time on an entry and you've got a good shot.

I actually really liked ride6's entry. It was absorbing.

    whoa...that came outta no where...

Hahaha maybe Kumba will lose again next week.
  • Marshy%s's Photo
    Someone ban Kumba.

    Please.
  • Dixi%s's Photo
I think Marshy boi has an extremely good chance of winning the liquid coaster contest. But Im sure many other good entries will be put forth, hopefuly this round will have alot of entries. I love a good water coaster.

    *hopes more people will enter*
  • Brent%s's Photo
RCTFan, you couldn't win if you had ten years to work on it.

Kumba, your entry really did quite suck. It was just a circle bascially, not fun at all to look at. While Ride6's had a good theme going on, took up a lot of space, had some nice features, and an all around good feel to it. Your's, all around, was meh to say the least.

And if Kumba does enter for the liquid coaster, I'd put my money on him losing, again (I have reasons too, not just saying that. I don't have anything against him, I just shoot the shit.)
  • Kumba%s's Photo
im not entering liquid coaster, and i probly would lose it, so im gona hold out ontill the woodie round.

my entry did NOT suck end of story.
  • sircursealot%s's Photo
A boring coaster, repetetive theming, and a bunch of hacks do indeed suck.

And I look forward to kicking your ass in the wooden coaster competition. Especially if you're doing more of that boring brown shit.

    I didn't think it sucked...

Half of me wants to feel sorry for you, whilst the other half wants to beg iris to ban you. I can understand your anger. One my parks became corrupted, park by park, I quit and took err, a 1-2 week break. Now I have the confidence to do my recent park. (Wow, that sounded corny) Anyways, Yours didn't suck, just try something no one has ever done before. It doen't HAVE to be hacked, just do something EXTRODINARY (another corny word) and you'll win 1st.
  • v1perz%s's Photo
    I agree with mantisfan, Kumba's didn't suck.

Ride6 also had a lot more time to prepare, hence the bigger better theming. Ride6 won because his ride was better due to more time to prepare and fully theme.

Im not saying ride6 wouldn't have won had Kumba had more time, im just saying Kumba's would have been better themed had he had more time, not just a week.

    At least i think so...
  • Ride6%s's Photo
    I agree with Viper here.

I agree with Kumba though, his entry wasn't bad. Not by any means. It was just too slow and uningaging. Basicly if he'd had a theme and built to it then he could've made one hell of a turn out. Time was against him. I believe Kumba will get in eventully. Mayne not with his woodie, maybe not the the next round after... But he WILL get it.

And sircurse: This was not really that bad of a round. There were two decent entrys. The main problem was the lack in number. The fact that it was only me ank Kumba is pretty sad. His ride and mine, although completly different, were both high-quality and competitive.

John, i understand. That really isn't my best work, but (as of the moment) its damn close. I had some better architecture going in other parks, i just didn't feel that the type would "fit" in this kind of park. My future parks and Pro Tour entry will show this.

And finally, Coaster Ed: I humbly thank you for defending me against John's onslaught. You're one of the most resepted people in the game and merely being noticed by you gives me a rather nice feeling that there really are people up on top that care about the little guys.
