Description
When NE’s Pro Tour was announced, I was ecstatic to find out architecture would be included in the qualifying rounds. And after 10 days of grueling construction, the Imperial Riyadh Resort was complete and sent in. A few days later it was announced the winner of the first qualifying round in the Pro Tour. This was by far my largest piece of architecture and the most time consuming, too. Luckily, it edged by to gain me a coveted spot in the New Element Pro Tour.

Deanosrs- Don't feel bad about not winning this week, and don't feel obliged to rush an entry for the video game round. Your entries for the pro-tour have raised your profile amoungst NE and earn't you a lot of admirers. In fairness this was not your best round, I didn't like the rows of orcs (they looked like toys lined up) and somehow it seemed to lack the character of your other entries. (also the submerged gondor cannons reminded me of the film Tremors )
For me your mexican hotel entry was the winner from week1. The pool, tennis courts, beach changing area...this one hit the mark for me.
RWAdams-Before the Pro-tour started you had already shown us your skill at the art deco themeing, which is why I think your hotel was a bit of a let down for me (as spectacular as it is). Silver streak I liked a lot wonderful industrial theming and understated (the entrance area is heavily masked by trees, as you delete these the gorgeous planting around the shops reveals itself) I think only the ride let it down. This time though....hail to the emperor. Perfect classical architecture. Its like a slice of the forum in Rome has been placed onto the screen. The ride fits neatly into this with an inspired contrasting colour scheme which works well. (the chess piece horses head statue reminds me of the most famous peice of the Parthenon marbles). Like Mantis though my only quibble is how closely this uses the brief of a Movie themed ride.
AustinP- Alcatraz in RCT2...inspired! The family blocks /guards cinema / observation towers, all recreated in detail, good work and probably the most fitting for the title of this round...Do you think Nicolas Cage will cut the ribbon at the opening?
One more week to go

Let's look at The Rock, ROTK, and Caeser in depth a little bit.
First off, Rog made a roman park. It was VERY nice, I loved the little temples, but I thought the coaster sucked and as toon said "got in the way". I would have liked the park better architecture only to be honest.
Alright, so one of the contestants tried a roman park. Of the others, one created a city in a mountain with several levels, a nice ship, and a battle. Yes, the orc army sucked and it looked like GI Joes, but as a parkmaker, I don't know how I would have done it differently. As for the city, I liked it, especially the beacon and the tower. It captured some of the movie too, like the vertical drop out of the station like the guy on fire. And popping out of the ship? Let's compare that with RWAdams...how did that relate to Julius Caeser? It was a roman park with an average vertical going through it, and as much as I loved the buildings, it had nothing to do with the movie other than being roman. So, both those entries had flaws and if I had to pick between the two, I'd still go with RWAdams and put Deano 3rd, despite a fabulous effort that he should be congratulated for. He just needs to realize if he is going to recreate something for LOTR, people's standards are going to be insanely high.
Now, AP's entry to me was the one that should have won. While RWAdams made a nice roman park, this guy fucking recreated alcatraz. I visited it too, and during my visit there I must say I thought it would make a hellof an RCT park to recreate the island. He did a great job, and from memory alone I remember saying, oh ya, the docks are here, and theres a small building here. So, for scope alone, AP is the winner, Deano second, and RWAdams third.
So, besides recreating alcatraz amazingly, he makes a good ride. Ya, it was a mouser, and ya he wasn't a brilliant hacker, but the ride followed the movie. From the tunnels to the green smoke, he connected it to the ride. Something RWAdams didn't do.
Anyways...all of them were good, but AP should have won imho.

Well, I'll go ahead and say that I wasn't really crazy about any of them.
RWA's was pretty cool, I guess. The buildings looked pretty cool and fitting for a roman theme. Also I'm glad you picked a different color scheme than usual. As for the vertical though......I hated it. I'm not a fan of that 200 ft. high coaster right over the path with no landscaping. It looks ugly.
AP's was probably the most accurate out of the lot, which made it pretty cool, but still a little boring. the coolest part was when it when through the fire and gears, etc. but other than that I didn't recognize a whole lot of it. (except for the random quotes...)
Deano's was very vast which was awesome at first glance, but upon a closer look it wasn't so beautiful to me. As others have said, also, the coaster was plain nasty. As for the accuracy, I wouldn't know becuase I'm no loader fan. But cheers on it anyway.
Those were the only ones I looked at but good job to the rest of ya for getting yours in

(It's just it says 6th of Jan on the first page which suggests end of tomorrow)
I've still got a tiny bit left to do. I keep getting error trappers when I place pieces of scenery in areas of the map that I have hacked, which I wasn't expecting to happen. So it is taking me a bit longer to finish than I had anticipated.
Thanks in advance,

Of course, he could end it whenever he wants.
I'm excited about the rest of the Pro Tour. I get the feeling Iris will be making up the rules as we go along, sort of like some "Reality" TV show. Whatever keeps the competition interesting.
I just hope we don't have to wait for Park Wars and H2H3 before we continue.
