Persistance finally pays off. Congratulations to the most devoted parkmakers of the prelims as Magnus finally got himself his invitiation to the Pro Tour 2. Week 1 saw Magnus get 2nd place in the hotel contest behind rwadams. Week 3 saw him take 2nd place to Six Frags in the multi-dimension coaster contest. Week 6 saw him slip a bit and come 4th in the mine train contest, losing to CoasterForce. Now, after taking two weeks off, Magnus finally gets his top spot with the Missouri River Bridge, the most creative and enjoyable bridge of the round. Congrats Maggie and I can't wait to see the stuff you pull out in the finals.
Thanks a lot to the other entries this week. It was interesting to see the different parkmakers approaches to such an unusual task. Promising parkmaker chapelz comes second this week with an interesting entry that I really liked for some reason...I couldn't put my finger on it. Great job chapelz and I hope to see you in a future round or two. Third place was hobbes who had a nice, yet very quaint and somewhat boring bridge. While technically the structure was solid and visually pleasing, this round was the perfect opportunity for parkmakers to get a little daring and try something new. Unfortunately, nobody really took full advantage of that...most notably possibly Old Red who came in fourth. Known throughout the site as one of the most creative parkmakers at the site, he entered a nice, yet once again kinda plain bridge through the forest. Gride came 5th with his Mirage Bridge, which was still pretty nice. Thanks for the entry. Unfortunately, we had recieved an entry from RCTNW but I continuously got an invalid data message whenever I tried to open it. Hopefully the problem can be resolved and perhaps this entry can be submitted in the bonus round if RCTNW isn't in already.
Also, a major thanks to Glitchwolf for sending me the No-CD version of RCT2...otherwise it would have taken another day or two to get these results up.

Well I didn't expect to win since I did my entry the day before it was due. Although maybe I'm just being a bitter asshole but I really didn't care for magnus's bridge it was kind of plan outside of the two towers though I guess someone could make the same argument about my bridge. So anyways I really liked hobbe's bridge for some reason. And Red's was just classic like everything else Red builds. It just looked old school. As for Gride's I didn't have an object I guess. And for the first time I'm going to agree with the ranking.
Missouri River Bridge- The only entry that I have no complaints about. The archy was great and the bridge itself was suppurb, great job on a spetacular entry.
Semper Fi Bridge- I didn't really care for it to much. I wasnt to crazy about the glass and that's what kind of ruined it for me (I know your were going for a futuristic feel). On the plus side you pulled the futuristic feel to it nicely and I really liked the supports.
Arrowood Valley Bridge- I really liked this entry. It had a nice realist feel to it and very realistic supports. The only thing that brounght it down from placing higher was the size. It seemed to be very small to m. Great entry though.
The Bridge- Lacked the detail that the top 3 entries had. I also wasnt a big fan of the brown. Yet still it had a pretty good atmosphere and showed effort.
Mirage Bridge- Haven't viewed yet. I have to download the thing that allows me to open .rar files.
My Line Up Would Be
1. Missouri River Bridge-Magnus
2. Arrowood Valley Bridge-Hobbes
3. Semper Fi Bridge-Chapelz
4. The Bridge-Old Red
5. Mirage Bride-Gride
Alright, I mostly agree with everything Inversed said.
My order and thoughts - Missouri River Bridge: While overthemed, imo, this definately was the winner. The structures were huge, but I all worked together anyway. I didn't really care for the colors too much though...
Arrowood Valley Bridge: My entry was probably the least themed of all the entries, but I kinda knew it would be that way. I was going for a more scenic / aesthetic area, and I think I achieved that. I'm also quite proud of the support structure, as I feel it was the most accurate/realisic of all the entries.
Semper Fi Bridge: I didn't really care for this entry. The entry points to the bridge were well done, but it reminded more of a tunnel than a bridge. I didn't like the support structure, or the glass coverings on the walkways. The bridge was also very clost the ground/water, which seems a bit odd to me, even though bridges are sometimes like that in real life.
The Bridge: I'm unsure of how to feel about this entry. It certainly could have been better, but I think it was the most creative of the bunch. For some reason I liked how you used the path, but I didn't like the steel suports underneath. The treeing was also pretty poor.
Nice idea with the aeroplane, the bridge is pulled off extremely well. The red looks good on it too, good job Magnus. Did not have time to look at the other entries, will do later.
I find it strange that when I sent my entry in on Sunday (a day before it was due) I asked to be contacted if there were any problems yet I rcvd nothing). When I contacted Iris last night via AIM (again before the deadline) and asked if he got the file and was told that he did have it, yet was not told of any problems. I did not even rcv a PM or an email as a sign of an attempt to contact me to see if it can be resent yet I was contacted to see if I had objects for the hotel round for a fellow RCTM member.
Based on the comments, I probably would not have won but it would have been nice to have been shown some minimal respect and at least try and contact me if you had problems.
Personally I feel I got fucked on this one as other preliminary results have been delayed for days (even over a week) for other problems yet it could not be delayed a day to see if my entry could be resent. Oh well I think I’ll go have a cigarette as that is what you are supposed to do after something like this.
I would have loved to see RCTNW's entry... Seeing as he is one of my favourite structure builders...
Good win Magnus... I like all the little details you've put into your bridge, such as the doors at the bottom... And after all your attemps, I think you deserved to get in..

I didn't expect to do well, because I did it a day before it was due. I'll try again.
Even though I completely agree with what you said RCTNW, there is still the bonus round coming up soon. By the way, @ the cigarette line.
Magnus, fantastic work. The bungee jump thing was a very nice touch. There's always been something about your landscaping though (atleast to me). Like, it's not a gradual slope, yet it's not very steep. I can't explain it, but for some reason it just looks strange yet it looks pretty good in most situations. Doubt that makes sense but it's what I think of it. Still, good luck in the finals!

Can anyone post a .zip form of GRIDE's?

Anyway, yeah well done Magnus, an amazing bridge, I especially like the grey tower things. I'll look at the others later.
